The Royals are caught up in internal turmoil that could affect the survival of the race. In the meantime, Copernicus is scheming hard to stay out of the clutches of the Royals, which inadvertently puts him at greater risk. Syria’s duty brings her in conflict with her own needs.
Born and bred in Windhoek, Namibia, Stein has considerable experience in the media field and has worked as a journalist, TV producer, and PR consultant before starting her own small media production company. Her hobbies include writing, reading, cooking, travelling, photography, and scouting the airwaves for new music and watching soccer. The thirty five year old Stein started writing at the age of thirteen after feeling cheated by the ending of a novel she was reading. She took the novel and rewrote it from the ending back to the front, adding 200 more pages to it. Since then she's only written in her native language, Afrikaans, a derivation of the Dutch language. Throughout her high school career, she 'lended' out her work to fellow boarding school students at a fee and made a killing writing love stories for couples on Valentine's Day. Not a native English speaker she decided to experiment in 2007 by writing a few short stories in English, which since has been kept password-protected on her hard drive never to see the light of day. By pure accident, she came across platforms on the internet to publish her work and was encouraged by a friend to try and post some of her stories. Stein still resides in Windhoek.
I have devoured The Guardian serie and also the follow up series The Eternal. Each installment has a great storyline and in each book we meet both new and old characters. The Royal Vampire Clan are the driving force in all the stories. There is plenty of action and major life-threatening problems that build up the tension. These series are a beautiful monument to eternal love and devotion. There are some typos, but that didn't matter to me. I really enjoyed it and I hope there are more “The Eternal” books to come. Although it is not necessary I do recommend reading the series in order.
Despite the annoying grammar issues, this series has kept me reading. It enthralled me from the beginning. The story just get better. You become engrossed in their lives.
It's one of the best super natural series I've read. Especially, about vampires.
To widen the preternatural awareness of those all around them. In the previous book it was hinted that their world would be opening to further creatures that go bump in the night. Nothing the author sort of hints at is done on a whim. It is a foretelling, even if expressed in an innocuous way. The last few chapters tells us that. What Tahlia decided to do to herself tells us more about the creature she became. The doctor told us three things about Tahlia and how she is evolving. It is for what is to come and who’ve we met at the wedding. And also more to do with what her daughter Aria has done.
One thing that I am tired of and that is Copernicus. I am exhausted with his part in this story. I am waiting to close this chapter of the tale. I get bothered every time we have to come to his time in the story. I find myself glossing over it, but know I shouldn’t because important tidbits will be revealed.
This rift between the Vampire Queen and her mate was very hurtful. And the word that came from Jemima’s mouth lessened her in my eyes and I will no longer see her the same way. Even as they make amends and Tahlia will inevitably forgive her, I doubt I will in the same way. There are just some things you do t say and some places you don’t go. As a mother myself, I know this deep down.
I am also having Syria and Aria fatigue. Perhaps it is because we really don’t know what’s going on and they’re still babies. And the decisions that Syria is making is just as reckless as what Aria is making.
The cryptic way the story is being told is making me put it down more and a bit more difficult to follow. It means you have to hold on to all these disparate pieces for far too long. It makes the read a little less enjoyable for me. So, it is my hopes that this series won’t be too long.
Lastly, so why Howie gets all this garnered attention? And it got old fast when it was revealed what was happening to him. Why Angelica is back from that very brief encounter with her mother Francesca and Drake. And to find out who Angelica is? Another confusing plot. Same with who we find out who AlJoshua is. Now we are also dealing with another new players on the scene Alexandra Mears who we met briefly and inexplicably in the last book and now Emmaline, who we don’t quite know yet but got a short chapter mention but seems to be of importance.
I had difficulty reading this book due to its' many typographical errors. It should have been proof read before publication. However, this author is such an excellent writer that despite mÿ frustration with the many errors I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to the next chapter in this saga.
I am trying to process I love these characters and can't wait for more. I am just hoping we don't have to wait long to figure out about Emmaline. That was an interesting piece. I love this series and can't wait to read more.
