Two individuals, two different worlds. One, a middle-school teacher, the other, a pole dancer who moonlights as an escort. But everything changes with a single lapdance...
Three years after the death of her wife, middle-school teacher Emma Brown remains emotionally wrecked. However, on the night of her sister's bachelorette party, her friends convince her to accompany them to a strip club.
Emma isn't seeking fun, or a lapdance, yet she can't say no when the raven-haired, curvaceous, stripper, Nicole Sanders, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Kylie Jenner, offers one. As the lapdance progresses, Emma's body yearns to surrender to the allure of the hottest woman she has encountered in years. But her guilt-ridden emotional turmoil holds her back.
Nicole Sanders, a seasoned stripper, pole dancer, and fledgling escort, sees herself as much more than her profession. She's a warrior, a tireless worker, and a dedicated mother yearning to provide her daughter with the world...a world she herself never had. Despite her rule against fraternizing with patrons, Nicole finds herself irresistibly drawn to the seemingly innocent, elegantly dressed newcomer to her club, Emma Brown.
Their friendship teeters on the precipice of something more, threatened by their differing worlds and the emotional traumas they bear. With Nicole's daughter, Susie, attending the same school where Emma teaches, complications have only just begun...
"Lapdance Love" is a lesbian age-gap romance from best-selling author A. Goswami. The novel delves into the complexities and contradictions of love. It tells the story of a stripper and single mom battling for respect and financial stability, and an emotionally shattered, vulnerable widow unable to move past her previous trauma. Amid the emotions, there's a liberal dose of humor, sensuality, and seduction that seamlessly complement the underlying emotional narrative.
I am your friendly neighborhood Sapphic romance writer, who has a knack for writing steamy romances, that also work as comfort reads. I know, a conundrum! But once you give my books a shot, you'll know what I mean! I live in London, a few streets away from where Sherlock Holmes used to live, so... if I you find me taking too long to publish my next book, I am probably off with Mr. Holmes on an adventure.
This is the second book I could not finish by this author. I just think the writing style is not what I like and there are too many inconsistencies that I can not overlook. Others seems to enjoy it.
After ‘Fated to Love You’ which was a brilliant book, this is lukewarm. The biggest problem here is the lack of good editing, the many mistakes in continuity, names and constant reuse of phrases. For example, the age of Susie, Nicole’s daughter, changes in different parts of the book, Scarlett’s wife changes name, Emma’s father coincidentally shares the same unusual name with Danielle’s father… The story idea is really good, if rather over-done, making it long and drawn out without any significant progress in some places. The links to Bella from ‘Fated to Love You’ is good, and the sections with Bella and Ava are some of the best in the book. Overall, with some significant editing could be a very good book.
This book exemplifies purple prose and relies heavily on deus ex machina. By the end, I was convinced it had been written by a teenager with minimal life experience, armed with a new thesaurus, and harboring an unhealthy obsession with metaphors.
Numerous plot holes and unanswered questions make the storyline hard to follow. The timeline presents issues, and characters sometimes possess knowledge they shouldn't or act clueless when they shouldn't. Some dialogue is clunky and unnatural, better suited as internal thoughts or feelings.
I found it odd and lazy how the author compared most characters to various celebrities.
While I do like Nicole as a character, and Emma was interesting albeit a little insufferable, the main storyline lost its appeal after the halfway point. The addition of more characters and further subplots diluted a story that initially held promise.
The concept behind the sex scenes was promising, but the execution in the writing fell short. I genuinely appreciate the ideas and wish the author could have better realized them.
The book also suffered from a significant number of typos and could have greatly benefited from heavy editing.
One last note, I hope to never encounter a certain description of anatomy as "spicy" again.
This second book of the Brooklyn girls series. Nicole and Emma’s relationship was definitely a hot mess throughout the book but they did their HEA. Lots of drama and angst in this book compared to book one. The back and forth was frustrating and gave me whiplash. Kylie Jenner was referenced so many times I was over it tbh. The grammatical errors were the most frustrating. The story was hard to follow due to lots of unanswered questions and needed some serious editing! I read some pages over and over trying to figure out what was happening and who said/did what. In one part Susie was 9, then later in the book she was 12. With some editing, this book could be a solid 3.5. I am glad i pushed through because overall the story was entertaining enough.
DNF at 17%. I just couldn’t force myself to finish it. The constant reference to the Kardashian was a turn off automatically. The grammatical errors. It was just not well written. It’s a no for me.
Two Different Worlds Do Collide With Consequences!
This story takes a club stripper and a middle school teacher and watch their worlds collide. When Emma finds herself in a strip club for her sister’s bachelorette party, she is obviously bored. Her sister begs her to be open and take what comes. Wanting her to have fun after the death of her wife two years ago but obviously not over. Begging her to at least stay for the final pole dance. Emma sits and when the dancer, Nicole comes out and performs she is memorized. Not only is this woman beautiful but she is sexy and Has a bod to die for. After the unforgettable performance is done she and many others are awestruck but she is still ready to call it night. But when she turns to leave, Nicole is standing right in front of her, asking Where she was going? Then she takes Emma’s hand to a private room to give her her own lap dance. What happens it two people suddenly shaken by what they were feeling. This was written so well and composed to keep us reading until the conclusion.
I was really excited for this book considering the first one. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations.
While I adore the love scenes with such delicate and delicious essence, I cannot deny that this couple SHOULD NOT be a couple. And the writing to me was not “storybook novel”.
Let’s talk about EMMA … she’s crazy! While I don’t care that they are different nor do I care about the age difference; what matters is how she treated Nicole who was honest in who she was. Nicole made the changes she needed for herself with a push from Emma, while initially it was semi ok that last tirade was so annihilating. Emma lost her first wife but it wasn’t cheating and suddenly this is all she can think about? Nicole deserves someone who loves her for her and Emma does not fit the bill.
DNF'ed at 50%. I kept trying to go back over and over to give it another chance because I prefer finishing a book, and I liked the characters to some extent. However, the book needed more editing, there could be less shaming of escorts and strippers (sex work is work), and this sex scene at 50% is kinda awful.
"Finally, With a little thrust that mimicked a man shoving his dick inside a woman, [name] slammed her pussy against [name]'s..." Most of us reading an FF romance don't want to think about a man in the midst of the sex scene.
Just as bad if not worse, "[name] moaned like a wounded dog." No, just no. No thinking about dogs, much less wounded them in a scene that is meant to be sexy.
I enjoyed this story and its roller coaster of emotions. The MCs definitely were tested throughout the story. Although much of their drama came down to trust and communication. It was hard to reason with one of them and not the other. I really wanted to give it 5 stars. However, it really needed to be proofread. The errors were much more noticeable towards the last half of the book. I did enjoy the follow up with certain characters from a past book! Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Wow fantastic storyline I loved the main characters their journey risking it all for a chance at love , it was a beautiful love story with Tragic twists and turns in their path they found a way to navigate through it all and come out stronger, a few mistakes but not enough to complain about just needs better proofreading that's all but a fantastic story must read congratulations
Wow…..just wow! This book is a beautiful slow burn into a beautiful love story. The scenes get spicy but at the heart of it all is a story for the ages. Two broken women, worlds apart and the lengths to which love can truly conquer all. I highly recommend taking the time to read this story. The author weaves through the telling of two hearts yearning to love and live and all the ferocity that life can throw at them. Well worth reading this story.
This opposites attract love story was a tumultuous ride. I loved the story and the characters but would have preferred a more detailed proofreading as the character names got mixed in a few instances and there were some other issues as well.
But the love story between a sex worker and a school teacher was lovely.
This story had me soooo frustrated and that Emma deserved far better. Nicoles action and her lame excuses for doing the sex work, had me seeing red. I so feel for Emma but that's how the story goes. Great read with a lot of angs.
Riding on a roller coaster of emotions, this story gives a lot of push and pull, ups and down, laughter and banters but definitely a love story that has a happy ending.
A eclectic concophany of fire 🔥 & ice 🧊 done in a rythmetic play of powerful tensions that flowed into a ending of desired love...bravo...standing ovation can't wait for your next wordology at play....
This was painful to read because a lot of factors in the story felt unbelievable. I am the most gullible reader there is. You can sell me a carrot and make me believe it’s a rose as long as the backstory makes sense.
I love everything by this author. It's laugh out loud funny, heartfelt, and relatable. The characters are amazing. Can't wait to read all of her books.
