I was poking around on BookMooch, and I did a search for books by Tim O'Brien. I thought The Things They Carried was a good book and have been wanting to read more of O'Brien's work. I saw this book listed and did a quick GoodReads search on it. The book was listed (obviously), but included no information. The two people who rated it didn't review it, so I couldn't find out anything about it. When I clicked on the author link, Tim O'Brien of The Things They Carried fame popped up, so I thought this book was by him too.
I should have known something was up when I checked out Wikipedia and this book was not listed with the famous Tim O'Brien's works.
Maybe this book was written by the famous Tim O'Brien. I don't know. I do know this book is not about the Vietnam War. This book is a series of 169 mostly silly questions. Here are some examples:
#106 Why don't they make cookies with powdered milk so all you'd have to do is dunk them in water?
#41 Does the French militia use Dijon mustard gas?
#128 What does it mean if you break a mirror with a rabbit's food?
#163 Is a taxi's occupancy limit higher for clowns?
#44 When a palm reader reads a child's palm, does it rhyme? (I don't even know what that means! Does anyone know what that means?)
#1 Do chickens think rubber humans are funny?
I guess this is supposed to be funny. The back of the book proclaims, "Thought-Provoking, Clever and Outrageously Funny Questions." I think most of those marks are missed.
