I enjoyed Katee Robert's first book in this series, and was charged to see this novella.
Marceline (Marcy) Bellini is a school teacher by day, and devoted single mother to a three year old princess, outside of that. She reluctantly attends her friends engagement party, Bri, the lively librarian we met in In Bed With Mr. Wrong, and is coerced into taking shots. Her handle on reality starts to slip when Bri insists she has her shots also, given that she is pregnant.
Aaron Robinson is watching from afar, having held a torch for Marcy since high school. She had been his little sister's best friend, and he had watched her grow into the beauty she now was. Seeing her come out of her shell, albeit alcohol assisted, and become flirtatious, he took it upon himself to ensure he was the only guy she would be leaving with,
This was a story of perceived unrequited love, dashed with a little trust issues, but splattered with instantaneous steam. I enjoyed it, but found, as with a lot of novellas, I was left wanting more. More depth, more chapters.
If you are after a sweet, steamy, easy read, this should be snapped right up.
