He’s Vicious Odin Vilulf. The one man I hate. The one I shouldn’t crave. He says he wants me. That can never happen. So why do I keep going to him? It would be so easy to say yes… Too bad he’s engaged to my mother.
She’s Mine Anna Aakre. She’ll be a perfect mafia princess. I want –need—to make her mine. But I’m playing a high stakes game. And Anna is my perfect pawn. She’ll hate me. She’ll learn that men in my world always have a plan. And she’ll see that I only play to win.

There was too much fat shaming ,forced dieting , being locked in a bedroom etc. it was mostly by the fmc’s Mother and grandma but it was like Chinese water torture. Odin marries the fmcs mother. I don’t care what post Bill Clinton authors want you to call it but he was having sex with the Mother and daughter at the same time—we’re supposed to give him a free pass because he didn’t stick it in the h— but he did everything else to Her—-meanwhile he was still banging her Mom at the same time. So there’s a book full of cheating going on if that’s your jam.The angst in this was just plain mean. So it pulled out emotional anger over the injustice—instead of the heart wrenching sort. I didn’t like it because the mother , grand ma and Odin just made me mad. I might comeBack to this one day when I’m Looking for an angry read. Also theres something about the writing style that seems awkward. Overall doing the Mom and daughter at the same time- along with the constant fat shaming and forced diet of one egg a day on a kale leaf all while being locked in a bedroom for a month—is enough to Give this book a BIG NO!
I think I read a different book than everyone else. I’m in the minority on this one. I should’ve trusted my gut and taken it as a bad sign when I realized everyone was named after a Disney character. The heroine was nothing but a doormat. She had no backbone and just let everyone trample all over her. The mmc had no redeeming qualities and there’s a lot of cheating. The only thing that would have made this book worthwhile was if a switch had flipped with the heroine and she took revenge on everyone who treated her like crap, then made a better life for herself. That ending didn’t do much to make me like this book. I don’t even know what to feel right now.
A sweltering, build up with a heavy dose of daddy-little girl kink and other woman drama featuring a full figure young woman, Anna, and very older man, Odin. The other woman is Anna’s mother and the morally grey hero is her mother’s fiancé and the heroine’s, Anna’s, love interest. It all started with a video intended for Han, the brother and Anna’s original long-time crush. Still, instant interest developed between the two as well as Odin’s forcefulness in claiming Anna for his own despite his arrangement with her mother. And there is more to that than an alliance….
The story read at a great pace; it was entertaining but it was also just ok. I felt the daddy/ little girl talk exaggerated, and I didn’t feel their attraction came from anywhere in particular. A misguided note and Anna just got the hots for Odin; and he for her because of a vid he watch misdirected to him.
Odin’s revenge plot wasn’t a strong enough element of the story, particularly as it involved Anna. The spice wasn’t spicy until towards the end of the book.
I didn’t enjoy the daughter’s putting up with the abuse from her mother and grandmother. It got old…same stuff over and over, and we never really learn why.
Somehow this book wasn’t as fluid as the others in this series and read more superficially. It was also riddled with repetitive words like “pad” instead of changing it up with “walk.”
I’m not one that usually wants or even likes a grovel, but Odin needed to grovel. Everything was just too easy for him: Anna liking his kinks and daddy-little girl play, Anna falling in love with him almost instantaneously, and her acceptance of his claim (with some kinky spanking). He was with her mother while fooling around with her. I get it: he had mixed feeling and was waging a revenge war but still … Anna deserved more. He wasn’t sleeping with them both at the same time but he was messing around with Anna intimately.
I loved the appearances of characters from other books in the series line especially Jafar.
A large age-gap romance with entertainment value but some story and stylistic choices which weren’t for me.
You know when Nick Miller from New Girl said “stop being mean to me, or I swear to god I’m gonna fall in love with you.”? WELP. That’s me with Odin. 😂
The further into this amazing series we go, the meaner the men get and I’m so fucking here for it. Because while they’re mean at first, the way they love their women? Chefs kiss! 💋✨
Odin & Anna were giving Jafar & Ellie a run for their money! The chemistry between them was deliciousssss and the tension of being in the same room together?? 🥵
I also really like that while these are standalones, they’re interconnected so we’re getting a full circle kind of story with each power couple as they settle into their roles of taking over the city.
Loved this and can’t wait to see what Sarah comes up with next!
Ps. Flynn surprised the FUCK out of me. Did not see that coming honestly. 😂
Only Bale can create a villain that I absolutely love and hate all in one breath. Just when I thought Jafar was the most villainous of them all, Odin steps in and makes his presence known. Showing every time he opened his mouth how utterly deplorable he really is. And holy heck I was not prepared for him. But holy heck I wanted him. Any despicable way I could get him.
Elsa and Selma absolutely broke my heart with the way they treated Anna. Nothing could repair the hurt and pain they piled up on her. They were evil and vindictive and I loathed them to the bone. But the more hurtful of it all was when Odin joined in. Treating Anna just as viciously as her mother and grandmother have. I wasn’t sure how a happily ever after could be possible in the end.
But y’all. The romance. This hot romance was…well, hot! When Odin wasn’t being cruel, he was being sexy as hell. Daddy Odin liked to come out and play, and oh did he play!! He played Anna like a finely tuned instrument. And boy, oh boy was I there for it.
Just absolute perfection in every way. From the well thought out plot…to the well written story…straight to the beautiful, broken characters that stole every ounce of my heart. Vicious Vows is a must read!! 5 Stars.
Vicious Vows took me on an exhilarating journey I couldn't resist! If you're looking for a book that will keep you utterly captivated, this one is an absolute must-read. The journey to their eventual union is riveting, and the character development leaves a lasting impact. The romance in the story is undeniably spicy, and I reveled in witnessing their relationship evolve from its inception to its fulfilling conclusion. With its well-crafted narrative, compelling characters, and an alluring blend of passion and danger, I cannot recommend this book enough.
This book might not be for everyone, the on-page violence and fat phobia is intrenced into every aspect of this story.
I received in ARC in exchange for an honest review
Huge thank you to Sarah Bale for sharing this e-arc with me. The following review reflects my honest reading experience.
Vicious Vows is a dark mafia romance with lots of spice! I was intrigued from the start and read this book in 2 nights and could have finished it in 1. This book starts right off (first chapter) with some hot spice and just keeps getting hotter! If you want a sexy, dark, age gap, touch her and die with lots of spice you will love this book!
Please read trigger warnings!! *Drug use, an age-gap relationship, power play, other woman drama, mentions of trafficking, and mentions of gruesome torture methods.
I personally love that the mfc is a 21 year old curvy girl. I think that with the mfc being over 18 should be a must in a dark mafia. This book exactly what I was in the mood for.
I love Anna and Odin and how they're relationship grew at the end. I have to say that the ending was really good even though I usually don't care for pregnancy in a book. (This was not a pregnancy trope and wasn't the main story). I love the tension and secret sex, not to mention the gun play sex scene...
I felt for Anna and how she was so caged and stuck under her family's control and condemnation for her weight. She really grew and watching her take control and grow her confidence, how Odin really supported her (dont get me wrong he is very dominant alpha male). And the end does give you a little plot twist that kept it interesting.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and will be on my list to reread when I need some mafia daddy vibes!
Oh man!! So I typically don’t like other woman drama, but I’ve been obsessed with Odin since he was first introduced in Savage Secrets so I HAD to read his book! Plus it’s got: 🖤Age Gap 🖤Touch Her and Die 🖤Daddy Trope Among MANY others so I was HOOKED!
Let me just tell you this was amazing! I finished it in a day (which we all know isn’t all that surprising 🤣) Odin is one of those characters you just love to hate like talk about morally grey!!!
This is a dark romance there is a TW/CW list for a reason! Sarah Bale with this entire Bale’s Villainous Tales series just continues to outdo herself!! I’ve loved every single one!
Another amazing 5 star read!! Odin is everything. Anna is amazing. The age gap is on point
And this world that Sarah has created is just other worldly. I love the mafia spin with some unlikely pairings but it is just … I’m at a loss for words.
This story had a few twists and turns. Drama and hard truths. But in the end, it was a happily ever after for the books.
Loved! This was a quick fast paced read with age gap hotness that I ate up. It’s hot, angsty, the tension is insane and I really enjoyed how the story unfolded. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I liked our heroine, I honestly felt bad for her at times and I’m just glad that she found her own happiness. If you like hot daddy vibe heroes then I suggest giving this one a go!
Someone posted this book as a recommendation, so I read it. Started out steamy and then just got repetitive.
The FMC is a 21-year-old verbally abused Mafia princess who has no choice but to accept the abuse.
To cope, she privately takes drugs and drinks alcohol. I can't blame her. She's rebellious in that regard yet weak in all other aspects.
The MMC is the fiancee of the FMC. They have a seexual connection, but it's not explained as to WHY he's so attracted to her. I don't get it. He's over the top protective of her yet is verbally abusive if her just like her mother.
When she disobeys, she pops pill(s), drinks alcohol, he finds out, they hook up, repeat until I DNF'd it at 50%.
The FMC and MM are both ANNOYING. There's NO storyline, and the sexual chemistry gets boring because it's the SAME SCENARIO every time.
I even read the epilogue, and it STILL WAS NOT worth continuing.
Listen. Listen...It took me a HOT minute to like Odin Vilulf. I am a HUGE fan of Sarah Bale and her writing. I love this series, and I am a SIMP for Malik Jafar. But Odin was...different for me. He was...shall I say...a little bit of a d-bag for a bit? Like, longer than I would have liked? BUT his turnaround is SO worth it.
And I liked Anna so much that it balanced out. I felt so bad for her, though. Her family was straight-up TERRIBLE. They treated her like complete and total ASS. It was almost too much at times, but as it is a mafia romance, and to me, those are almost always OTT, I let it slide.
The spice was chefs kiss for sure, as always.
TROPES: *dark mafia romance *twisted Frozen reimagining *Age gap - pretty extreme... He's in his 50s, I believe, and she is in her 20s. *Taboo/forbidden *daddy k*nk *spicyyy *subtle disney references *touch her and unalive *dual pov
Checking TW on this one is an absolute MUST. Here are the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
-fat shaming -emotional abuse from mother/grandmother -dr*g use (pills) as a means to deal with the abuse the fmc is suffering at the hands of her mother and grandmother -EXTREMELY graphic depiction of a violent act at the end (granted the person being unalived was the villain, but DAMN it was graphic...excellently written, though, I must say). -s*x trafficking-depicted on page BUT it is not se*ually graphic. -Cheating (note: I normally do not tolerate this trope, but Sarah is one of the few people who can do it right!)
I received a complimentary arc for my honest review - thank you to Sarah!
The plots and twists had me shocked! I didn't think that I would enjoy this book as much as I did as you were introduced to Odin and Anna through the past books but this book was captivating. I wasnt able to put it down and read it all in one sitting ( ok but everybook in this series has been like that- if that doesnt tell you these books are good I dont know what would. ) Odin had such daddy vibes about him the whole time and the spicy scenes were good too!! The story just flowed and nothing seemed forced but of course there was emotions ( and god did I feel them)! Anna and Odin had a connection and it just worked. The ending had me shocked with the epilogue just ending their story perfectly.
I loved the special appearances of past characters ( especially Ellie!!)
I rate this a 4 ⭐️ I have been in a bit of a reading slump so I feel like when I re-read this when im not in such a slump it will be a 5 star read but hands down Sarah's books always pulls me out of a reading slump and I gobble the book up! - Nothing will ever beat Ellie and Jafars story ;)
I hated it. Liked it. Hated it. Liked it. And it goes on and on. I hated Odin 90% of the time. I'm not sure he was even redeemable. He wasn't even a villain. He was just a bully. As much as Anna's family was to her. F@ck them all! They were awful and there wasn't even a f@cking reason to why her mother wanted her dead ever since Anna was a little girl. Anna: she was a bit pathetic some times. Then she finally grew some f@cking balls. Alleluia! Grandma deserved the same fate as her daughter though. I'm disappointed. The ending was was good!
The book had my blood boilingggg and my blood pressure up. Kudos to the author for getting such a reaction out of me, but man I just couldn't bear the story. The FMC was the ultimate downfall for me while reading this. Odin? I don't see how everyone loves him. The characters were very dynamic and I loved the realism of the faults of the characters, especially with the MMC romance lead not being the perfect prince charming. However, it was just a below average read for me, simply because I just could not connect with it at all, throw the whole FMC away.
Plot: Anna's family is old school mafia, run with an iron fist by her grandmother. Her grandmother has arranged a marriage for Anna's mother to Odin, another mafia player. He's older than her which makes him much older than Anna, but for some reason he wants her. Her stepfather won't end their relationship even while married to her mom. There's something afoot and Odin is determined to take the revenge he's always wanted. Anna just might be a casualty.
Commentary: First, I've never read anything from this series before, but that didn't stop me from understanding the main story (although I didn't get some of the minor references). Odin was an absolute jerk for a lot of the story. He had his revenge in mind (and ). The fact that he wanted to "break" Anna just because he thought she was her grandmother's favorite (and I'd hate to see her least favorite if that's how she treats her favorite) was strange. He could have gone after any of them, but he took out his revenge plot against a 20-year-old girl. I was glad to hear that (regarding the sleeping arrangements) . Anna was a bit of a brat, but she wasn't a child like he kept implying (he was just a lot older than her!). She was coping any way she could with a terribly abusive household. Should she have been throwing back pills like popcorn? Of course not, but I'm not judging too hard. One thing I really hated was the way that Odin did nothing about her mom's abuse. He seemed to believe that she really only wanted to eat one boiled egg the whole day. That she wanted to be locked in her room. That she wanted to humiliate her mom by picking a tight dress. And the debacle of the rehearsal dinner made me so sad. How could he not know and not say anything? He's not the groveling type but he should have.
This book tired to hard to hit themes and it didnt need too.
It fat shames, it treated the FMC like shit having her mother grandmother and "new step dad" all treat her dumb and fat. Forcing her to be room bound, only eat an egg and piece of kale at dinner only for the whole day. Having the mom not invite her to wedding planning events, including her to engagement parties but not having an actual seat for her to sit. It was tiring every paragraph commented on her weight it seemed. I understand the new dad trying to fit it and punish her but i expected him to play good daddy when they were alone. While he did this towards the end he kept telling her shes a spoiled brat (which she kinda was which made no sense if you cinderalled her downgrading her why would you spoil her).
Apparently this book is a series and i own book 1 & 4. Not noticing i picked this book up first thanks to the cover.(I thought i would have a good DADDY book. lol ) Reading this out of order i wasn't lost on much just the backstory for revenge which gets explained at the end and isn't a big deal while it was the motive behind the initial marriage.
This book was more foreplay than anything and when they finally got together the book was almost over so they added a BIG TWIST and kidnapping to give it more energy. When it was finally over you had multiple epilogues while short were not needed. It shoved characters together just to have a happy ending even if it referenced them not getting together ever. (the FMC cousin and MMC brother) FMC kept epologing getting horny and pregnant while MMC sat back and enjoyed his life at his 60th birthday party admiring his ever expanding family.
Since i own book one and have yet to read it i guess i will but idk if i can read the rest of this drawn out series.
Also left me question the daddy kink.... He was a step dad b y name-marriage but there was no real him dadding as shes an adult (21). So was it a true Dad kink. The book concentrated on the fat shaming and family hating the FMC so hard that when the MMC got with the FMC they were instantly just foreplay. One list of house rules was given and broken and punishment was only spanks one scene (not much else on the dad role)
There is so much happening in this book! Twists, turns, drama and spice with every flip of the page. Definitely read her other books to familiarize yourself with the characters, because there's a lot to keep track of. PLEASE HEED ALL TRIGGER WARNINGS as this does have a heavy mother vs daughter theme, dark mafia, large age gap, step-relations, power imbalance, food control, body/weight shaming, trafficking, torture... it gets dark in some places.
Odin (MMC) is everything a Daddy is. Strong, smart, powerful, possessive, mysterious, knows what he wants and isn't afraid to make sure he gets it. And will absolutely crumble for her. He's caring, dangerous, dominating, sexy and vicious in the most delicious ways. He doesn't pretend to be perfect. He doesn't pretend to be something or someone he isn't (well...). He doesn't pretend that being in the mafia is flowers and sunshine. He will take out anyone who crosses him or touches/hurts her.
Anna (FMC) is a 21 year old curvy Mafia Princess learning just how dangerous that lifestyle can be - especially when you're not the one in control. I appreciated the very real element of her having to navigate how to move forward in her world while trying to figure out if she even wants that life, where she fits in, and wanting to just be happy. I loved her character development from a small, quiet, obedient daughter into a strong, confident woman not to be messed with - not even by her own family.
I read and re-read this book a few times because there really are a lot of winding plot twists. If you think something is in the book just to be there, think again! Author Sarah Bale does not do anything by mistake in this. And if you expect all the big, obvious, "ta-da!" type reveals in this... don't. Much to my surprise and delight, there were many reveals that were subtle and every bit as surprising and exciting as a big to-do in other books. Don't worry, there are plenty of exciting realizations that left my mouth on the floor.
Yep, I need a minute to catch my breath. Sarah Bale has done it again. Twists and turns. So much steam. So much angst. And so much, “Woah! That did not just happen!” And just like that, another happily ever after with me realizing I’ve been holding my breath for 376 pages. Vicious Vows! Holy! Wow!
I already know Sarah knows how to write the best villains, and I fall in love with them every freaking time. And when she pairs her mafia men with women who may appear vulnerable but have so much hidden strength, I am a smitten kitten. Talk about baggage. Yeah, these characters have it by the bucketload. What I love is how Bale builds Anna and Odin into so much more than anyone gives them credit for. These are not what-you-see-is-what-you-get characters. Anna has all the hallmarks of a beaten-down soul, a party girl, the throw-away child her family tries to bully her into believing she is. But she’s got the heart (and behavior) of a rebel. And Odin—ugh! How can I fall for a man who is so vicious, so cruel, so conniving, but oh so emotional and passionate?
If you’re wired even a little dark (like me), you are going to grab onto this story and feel it in your soul. Is it pretty? Psshhh, nope! Is it kind? Hahahahaha, nope again. Is it intense and powerful and incendiary and wicked? Absofreakinglutely!
Vicious Vows is part of Bale’s Villainous Tales, and while you do not NEED to read the prior books to understand and enjoy the story, you will appreciate it so much more when you know all of the players and their world. And yes, this is DARK ROMANCE. There are subjects, topics, and scenes that will make you gasp, cringe, squirm, and sigh. If you’re sensitive to dark subject matter, reach out to someone who’s read this one first. And pick me. Because if this is up your alley, I want to chat about it like we’re talking about our best friend’s new relationship. Over tea. Or maybe something stronger.
A twist on Norse myths and Fairytales, we see Anna and Odin feeling a connection but due to their circumstances they struggle to give in, all the while trying to uncover a nefarious plot.
Anna is seen as the black sheep of the family. She has a comrade in her cousin, Freya, but otherwise feels alone and depressed, often turning to drugs and alcohol to get through the day. We see her go through a rollercoaster of conflicts in this story, but she still tries her best to stay afloat and make things work.
Odin is dominating and fearsome, leading his brothers in a plan to unravel a potential threat. He does not expect Anna though to derail some of those plans though, as he is someone who portrays himself as incapable of love and one who can easily wear a mask. He can be stubborn at times but also protective of his family.
These two are a will they, won’t they, sometimes on a fast track with lots of pauses and pushes and pulls. They definitely has physical chemistry and I hoped they’d have more emotional chemistry to help development Anna’s growing feelings for Odin as the book progressed. There were times when it seemed Odin cared for Anna but it also seemed self-serving at times (perhaps because he is with someone else in a business arrangement and Anna often feels guilt for their time together). Yet as the story progresses we get to see more development between them, with reader can’t help but hoping they find a HEA, and the bumps in the road along the way adding to all the layers.
Moreover, we have a highly suspenseful plot as questions are slowly answered and things picking up in the latter half of the story. We also see familiar faces and perhaps hints at future tales. The pacing was good and the writing flowed.
Overall, a good story that had me finish reading it in one sitting. I cannot wait to see what’s next.
I will not lie, the first 60% of this book was very hard for me to get through. But I kept my faith in Queen Sarah and her beautiful mind in what she had in store for the second half of this book and I was not disappointed. Everything that happened, all the plot twists, and twists and turns that happened the last 40% of the book definitely made up and really made everything that happened in the first half make sense. Let’s dive in…
All Anna’s life she’s been the victim of her mothers and grandmothers bullying and abuse. She’s always told that she’s her grandmothers favorite, but if the treatment she gets from her is favoritism, I’d really hate to be any of her other grandchildren. It isn’t until it’s announced that her mother will be getting married to the head of the Vilulf (one of the three New York mafia families) family that she actually gets some positive attention and affection…from the man himself.
When Odin comes into the picture, I expected him to step in and stand up for Anna. When he doesn’t, and seemingly he goes along with it, it truly broke my heart and I didn’t want to like him. He is the villain after all… But the tension and build up between him and Anna was so sweet. When Anna *finally* stands up for herself, it seems to be too late for Odin. Will they be able to get past his treatment of her? What about his relationship with her mother? Trust me when I say it’s a very tangled web weaved and to keep going because it’s worth it.
Sarah Bale has done it once again and totally outdid herself with Vicious Vows, the fourth nook in Bale’s villainous Tales, another fabulous dark mafia, twisted fairy tale retelling where the villains are nothing short of perfection! And this time, Odin definitely takes the dirty talking, silver fox, daddy loving cake! With each book Sarah adds to this collection I think this is it—the best one yet! Then she releases the next and I’m left once again assured she’s reached a new magical level of greatness!
When a text message goes awry and leads Anna to her new stepfather instead of his brother, the guy she’s secretly crushed on for years, things heat up quickly and their whirlwind of a story will take you on quite the journey. Will you be possibly pissed at the treatment of poor Anna by her family and the seemingly nonchalance that Odin portrays for Anna during these encounters? Most likely yes. But hang in there because it is definitely worth the ride!
This captivating taboo story of forbidden love is full steamy heat, dirty talking, mind blowing chemistry between Odin and Anna and I am 100% there for it! A definite must read for any taboo, age gap, forbidden love, fairy tale loving fan out there!
If you want a book that's so good you can't put it down, this one is for you!
Vicious Vows is a dark mafia romance with an age-gap relationship, power play, "touch her and die", Daddy Trope, other woman drama, and TONS of spice (including gunplay). From the very beginning, when the MFC thought she was texting someone else but it turns out it was Odin had me dying! I loved it so much! This book started out with a strong opening that kept my interest the whole way through and had me staying up until 3am to finish it even though it was a work night (oops!).
I both loved and hated Odin in a way that only a handful of authors can pull off. This is definitely a romance where the MMC is morally gray, and Sarah doesn't hold back in showing the parts of Odin that can be hard to see. It bugs me when authors write morally gray characters that aren't actually morally gray, but Sarah did NOT hold back on Odin & I love it because of that. In the end, it's all worth it as they get together!
The romance in the story was VERY spicy and I loved watching their relationship grow from beginning to end. 10/10 recommend this book!
I don't even consider this book a Disney fairytale retelling but this a "Frozen" story. I didn't like the characters unfortunately. Anna was incredibly annoying and Odin was just plain cruel. I love how Freja said Anna was a product of her environment because I agree. She was a soap opera cliché. Naive, always making the wrong choices, never went against her family or Odin. And a big eww to fuck your stepfather when he's been doing your mom. Also girl is clearly an addict but then stops one day and never drink or take a pill again. The major letdown with Odin is that he never acknowledged how abusive both Elsa and Selma were to Anna. Did he believe Selma all this time? Was he stupid enough to think Anna didn't want to go to the wedding? Or eat a stupid boiled egg on a kale leaf every evening?
The beginning of the story made no sense either. How could Hans not remember his own number but his brother's instead? Also the Hans/Anna friendship seemed forced. Even more when we realize he's really not her friend but a Snapchat buddy.
I can't believe the author turn Flynn Ryder aka the best Disney male character into a sex trafficker!!!
Thank you to Sarah Bale for letting me be on your ARC team! This review is completely voluntary.
I let me be honest and say that I was going to love this book when I saw Wander Aguiar on the cover and let me say that my expectations were beyond met!
W O W.
This book has had me in a complete chokehold from the very beginning. It was such a captivating story that I couldn’t put it down! I finished it in two 3 hour sittings!
It is the absolute definition of a mafia romance! And Sarah Bale made the perfect age-gap relationship!
The BS that Anna had to deal with made me feel so many things. It was so easy to like her just for her resiliency alone. She
Odin is well… a true GOD just like his name suggests. I fell in love with him INSTANTLY and by the end I hated Anna just because I want him for myself.
The constant family drama had me throwing my kindle across the room TOO many times! I just wanted to scream at everybody! But it was the perfect way to keep me captivated and I don’t think it could have been written any better.
Oh my goodness Sarah has written another anti-hero you can't help but fall in love with. Once I started Odin and Anna story I couldn't put it down. The spice starts early in this one and there is plenty throughout. There are a couple barbs thrown at Anna by Odin and it feels like he's gone to far. But then later in the story it makes his fall into love more satisfying. It was great that Sarah included the other two couples from the series in the epilogue, to see where everyone stood further down the road.
"You are the missing piece to not only my heart, but to my soul. I was dead inside until you came into my life, turning everything upside down. You make me a better man. I vow to be the best father to our children. I love you so f☆c[ing much, and I refuse to go through this life without you by my side."
I am leaving my honest review for a complimentary copy of this book via the author.
Odin and Anna had me nervous for a good portion of this book. I will be honest, I wasn’t rooting for them to get their happily ever after and that has never happened to me while reading a romance before.
Odin is Anna’s soon-to-be stepfather but he spends more time with Anna than her mother. Anna is constantly talked down to and abused by her mother and grandmother and I really wanted Odin to come in and be her defender against them but he does nothing but believe the lies he is told about her behavior. It felt like a bully romance at times, which is an ick for me.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved this book and this series over all! Trust Sarah to make it all make sense in the end. There are plots in the background that don’t come fully to light until later in the book! This one is definitely worth the read!
This books was SO GOOD. I read it so fast, and I’m sad it’s over. Vicious Vows has everything you need in a book. It’s got spice, war between families, murder and more. It’s an easy and fast read it’s got drama from the start. The characters you will fall for, even Odin who’s a little mean sometimes because of the situation he’s in. Even some characters you may not be a big fan off. But, this book was so well written and i can’t wait to see what is next. One of my favorite books so far.
Anna who thinks she’s in love with Odins brother Hans. But, when she gets the wrong number she sends a text only to soon find out it’s his older brother. Throughout the book you’ll see Anna testing the waters with Odin, and especially her mother and grandmama. She defies them a lot and she should with the way they treat her.
Another great book in the Bale’s Villainous Tales!
This story was about Odin and Anna, and let me tell you, it’s quite the ride.
I spent most of this book wanting to throat punch Odin, as he greatly contributes to the horrible treatment to Anna from her family. At the same time, of course I wanted to see their happy ending.
Anna is a granddaughter of the past head of the Mafia families in New York, Elsa. Her whole family except a couple are cruel to her.
Enter Odin, who is marrying her mother and has revenge plans of his own that include Anna.
This is not a sweet love story, but it is a love story that will pull you in… and break your heart multiple times before they finally have their happy ending. So definitely on par with the rest of this series.
Sarah Bale gives you a villain you both love to hate and hate to love.
Vicious Vows is a dark mafia romance. It is book 4 of the Bale's Villainous Tales. Check Triggers. OUT 8/15
Anna is a mafia princess but she is under her grandmother and mother rule. She isn't living the life she dream for herself. With her mothers wedding coming she keeps her distance to the man she hates.
Odin has a plan. Marry into the powerful mafia family. Take down the queen and rule in her place. One thing he didn't count on is falling for his new brides daughter.
I am a firm believer that Sara can write anything and i will devour it!! She knocked it out of the park with this one. My heart broke with how Anna was treated. Odin is daddy to the extreme. I giggled with every Frozen reference. it was so fun! The twist i totally didn't see coming! The spice was on point!! Everything about this world is perfection!!!
