I'm a wedding planner out to steal the groom...but I never planned on my grumpy billionaire boss.
It all started with a fortune cookie that said my future spouse would cross my path today. I didn’t believe it at first—except my ex-boyfriend just walked into my office. The one who got away. The guy I’ve been pining for since he dumped me a year ago, whose smile still sends me fluttering. Now I really want that stupid little piece of paper to be right.
There’s just one problem. He’s engaged to a hotel chain heiress, and I’m their new wedding planner.
The thing is, she’s all wrong for him. Ty and I were meant to be together, and now I have the chance to show him. I’ll be spending the summer on the very island of his destination wedding, after all. It’s almost like fate wants us together.
Besides the matter of Ty’s multi-million-dollar event, there’s a bigger complication—Chase, my hot and hovering billionaire boss. The one who insists this expensive wedding is his last chance to save our company and his fortune.
The thought of disappointing Chase makes my stomach flop—but definitely not in a romantic way. Never that.
One island. Two men. A lifetime of happiness at stake.
Let wedding season begin.

I truly disliked Daphne in the beginning of this story. Her decision to ruin her boss was callous and pure selfishness. She didn't deserve Ty let alone Chase! But once she went zip-lining, I started to like her a little bit. By the time she's re-enacting her favorite scene from her favorite movie, I was rooting for her and Chase. :)

Just One Summer with the Grumpy Boss is my first book by Sasha Hart and I really enjoyed reading it. Daphne was written as a frustrated country girl with her big dreams dashed. She did not immediately impress me as the FMC but as I read, I began to understand why she was acting and scheming to reclaim her ex and secure the life she dreamed of as a teen. Chase was the typical grumpy billionaire boss displaying all the rich boy attitude associated with the character. I had no problem with them as main characters.
I loved how the story allows them to slowly discover a tentative friendship. Daphne's quirky personality begins to emerge in her conversations with Chase and her guests. She shows empathy in a difficult situation involving a guest and willingness to step in and assist the staff without being asked. Chase reveals bits of the man underneath the grump and his insides are just as attractive as his looks!
This is a romantic book without spice. It was a fun read and as soon as I finished it I knew I wanted to read the rest in Sasha Hart's Four Seasons Park series.
I received an advanced readers copy and am leaving a voluntary review based solely on my reading experience.
JUST ONE SUMMER With The Grumpy Boss by SACHA HART 🌟🌟🌟
Just One Summer With The Grumpy Boss by Sacha Hart is part of the Four Seasons Park Sweet series.
When Daphne gets an unexpected promotion at the Wedding Planning company she works for she jumps at the chance to right a heinous wrong. Yes, she has no experience, yes she got the promotion under dubious circumstances but if she can just avoid her boss Chase she might just be able to win back the love of her life.
Fate intervenes, things go awry and Daphne finds herself attracted to the wrong man. Can Daphne’s fortunes improve?

This is a reasonably entertaining book. I have to say that I didn’t find the MFC particularly likeable, in fact she annoyed me. Overall the story could have done with a bit MORE. I found scenes a bit light on detail which meant I didn’t get really invested in it. Shame, because I think it has potential. If you’re looking for something deep and meaningful then move on but if you’re looking for a quick, light beach read then this is perfect! Enjoy!😊
Plot: Daphne suddenly gets promoted and has to move to her boss’ private island to ensure all their wedding guests have the wedding of their dream. She didn’t realize that her boss, chase, would be there too. After spending so much time together, and creating a fake dating ploy, they start to develop real feelings. Will she be able to trust him, regardless of the media? Will he be able to trust that she is over her ex? What will happen to his company after failed weddings?
What I liked: I liked that they were vulnerable and open with each other. I also liked that they let themselves feel their feelings for one another
What I didn’t like: I didn’t like that Daphne was still so hung up on Ty after he proved time and time again that she was just his backup. I also hated that she was so obsessed with this guy that hurt her so bad.
🌴📚 Just One Summer With the Grumpy Boss – Sasha Hart
⭐ 2/5
Whew… where do I begin? I finished Just One Summer With the Grumpy Boss and honestly? The story could have been so good – but the main character ruined it for me. 😩
She had everything going on: 🔹 A sick father 🔹 An ex getting married 🔹 A grumpy boss who actually shows interest 🔹 A best friend who’s all love and support
And still? She managed to be selfish, useless, and straight-up annoying. 😒 I tried to root for her, I really did, but she gave nothing. No growth, no spark, just one big walking red flag 🚩
I wish Sasha Hart had put more effort into developing her – the plot had potential, the love interest wasn’t bad, but ugh… main character energy was NAB (Not A Blessing lol).
Nice and cute story with absolutely romantic-com vibes and zero spice!!!
Daphne and Chase have been working together, well, he was the CEO and she was just her receptionist 😉 but after firing Daphne’s boss, Chase offered Daphne a new position as a Wedding Planner.
Daphne have been nursing a broken heart and concocted a plan to win his ex back, because she thinks the stars told her that they must be together. The new job is in a paradise island in the middle of the Caribbean, so who can blame her if suddenly she starts having feelings for her handsome boss? Nobody, right???
It’s a sweet palate cleanser and highly recommend if you a looking for a fluffy reading 🥰
Trying to win back the guy she once loved, our FMC goes to the island as a wedding planner to stop the wedding. But destiny had another plan for her. She fakes dating her grumpy boss but slowly they fall for each other. Now she is torn between her former lover and her boss. And it's not as simple as it seemed earlier. Businesses were in line. But soon she realized what she wanted, and it seemed too late. But then things do fall in place and the beautiful happy ending was worth it all. Love it. I am recommending this to all Romance lovers.
Trusting fortune cookies and other mystical messages to direct romantic decisions was a fun approach to this second chance story. Overcoming past situations and insecurities made for wonderful back and forth interplay between Daphne and Chase. Hearing Daphne’s inner thoughts and feelings really had me quietly cheering her on as she sorted out so many personal things. Being your authentic truthful self is always the best choice destined to lead to a HEA. Loved it!

The FMC was annoying in the beginning and her plans did not sit well with me, but you get to love her as you get to know her better. She has a lot to learn about herself and life and it takes an island and a grumpy boss to show her the way.
I loved how the main characters grow as their story unfolds.
A lot of fun moments, clean romance and a few life lessons make this a great read!
Looking forward to the next book in the series!

This is Gayle, Brad's wife and I loved "Just One Summer with the Grumpy Boss." Daphne became her own woman in this story, and my favorite part was when she was trying to catch up to Chase on a horse while he was driving in his car. It was not the best plan, but it all worked out, and true love prevailed again. Thanks, Sasha, for not only a great book, but three others in your Four Seasons Park Sweet Romantic Comedies. I would love to see these as movies some day!!! Gayle Myler
There were several fun things about this storyline, but I'm not sure if this storyline kept my attention as much as the first book I read from this author.
Daphne's character was a bit irritating, and I didn't align with what she planned to do. Chase is her boss, and I didn't completely understand the motives of this couple’s connection.
I didn’t get exactly what I expected from this one, but it was an okay read. I received a free ARC from Booksirens, and voluntarily leave my review.
A sweet and swoony romance with enough drama to keep the pages turning. It's well written and the author makes the plot completely believeable. It's enjoyable and entertaining, who doesn't love a fancy wedding on an island? Great setting and there were lots of sparks, good laughs and fun banter. Wasn't a big fan of Daphne at first but she had some good character development. Nice addition to the series.
This author has a knack for writing what seems like it will be the tropiest of all tropes but putting in it so much emotion about a deep and significant life lesson. The first book did that with a book about grief masquerading as a manic pixie dream girl trope and this one does it again. This book is a book about cherishing the loving relationships in your life and being the mistress of your own destiny masquerading as what my preschool bestie calls the “billionaires and broke bitches” trope.
Very cute romcom. Just goes to show you shouldn’t count on superstition and “fate” and you shouldn’t let it take over your life. Too many people get sucked into believing in things like that and are afraid to live life. This isn’t a deep, philosophical story, just a fun read. I really liked the original plot. Very well written. I recommend it.
Fluff. Not much drama, angst, or grovelling. The AI voice reading the book was ok, except the parts where words were pronounced weird (‘is-lay’ for isle, ‘unclip-pet’ for unclipped etc) and the parts where the voice suddenly comes out demonic and growly. A couple of times with that unnerving voice and I switched to the ebook bwahahaha
Audiobook It was AI read, sounded okay but there were parts spoken in a creepy demon voice (but I recovered from them fast)
A cute fluffy romance story. A original plot. So if you need something light and easy to read I would recommend it. I really liked the isle - Isla de Pura Vida (that isle sounded beatiful to imagine)
3.5 stars ⭐️ Where is my rich man who owns a tropical island 😭 she was really giving delusional, but I mean I would be too so I can’t blame her. It was a fun easy summer read. I enjoyed it but probably won’t fully remember it. I was gonna give it a 3 star because the fmc was annoying and immature but it got the extra .5 for the island vibes alone 😂
I really only listened to it on YT to pass the time at work because I couldn't physically read at the time, and I'm all for the random cute romcom listens, but the FMC in this was the most insuffferable ever. Anyways, it was getting added to my reading goal one way or another 😘
Last book of the year and it didn’t disappoint thank god, it’s not a 5 star but it was cute, I just feel like the timeline is a bit odd for some reason, I feel like there was a switch too fast between boss to friend?
I enjoyed this book! Finished it in 2 days. Without giving away spoilers I’ll say that I was sad and then happy for the way things ended up. I’d definitely recommend this book for a cute romantic read!
The story had so much potential but the main character Daphne pissed me off so much. How dumb and horrible and blind can you be girl? Lol Chase was the only redeeming factor of this book. Everyone else equally as stupid as the next 😂
Captivating read! Could not put down. I had never heard of this author before and now I’ve ordered four of her books. She’s got the stuff authors need to keep the reader whole captivated by the story. Highly recommend!
Que puedo decir aparte de que no conecte con los personajes, la historia esta un poco floja y el final demasiado apresurado. Ademas de que al fin me di cuenta que no me llama la atencion la pluma de la autora.
Well written, but the main character's actions are difficult to understand (has a supposedly good job but no money, can only think about her ex although she clearly does not really want him back?). Plus, the AI narration is an impressive feat for a machine, but utterly off.
A cute listen that will delight everyone. Daphne is a Wedding Planner but she has an idea that might or might not work. What she wants isn’t to plan a wedding. Will she get her wish. Loved it.
