This was a book written about children at play in Mali, Africa. Most of the pages just have one or two words and pictures to explain what is going on. If I was going to use this in a classroom, I would have my students research the different aspects of play in the book to here in America. They would read and write about the aspect of play they had and the project would probably be display on a board.

The Introduction provides helpful information about a lot of the games depicted in the book, but the reader has to retain that information or else keep flipping back, because each spread is literally 2 photographs with the name of the game and at most one descriptive phrase (like "Rolling marbles"). I would have found it more helpful to include more of the descriptive information on the pages themselves.
