Free on the Kindle, this book contains a lot of tips on how to game Google.

Some of the tips are just personal hunches by the author, being honest. While I'd not claim that anything in here is wrong and damaging, some of what's in here is fairly pointless, and following some of them probably will have little effect.

That said, it's a quick, interesting, read; and a useful reminder of a few things to do if you want to ensure people find your website. He does miss out the most important advice, which is simply "do a great website, and Google will reward you", which I've found to be the case.

Jon Smith adds a new dimension to writing by giving space to techniques of improving and maintaining a website's top performance in the search results produced by the Google search engine. The various methodologies described lead to a foray into the all new research qualified domain of internet. The top ranking search optimization techniques are designed based on keywords, stats, content among others. The book also indicates a deviation from the conventional 'PageRank' Algorithm to determine the optimization rules for a website. The book is a Bible for Google lovers and it's legacy of a simple outlook towards resolving an issue is by and large taken care of by the techniques. The world at Google is impregnable in terms of the unanimity it displays in implementing a technology. And, search optimization matters. The book lays a good, solid foundation for in depth dive into sea of Ranking Algorithms. A top-notch paperwork by Jon Smith.

This contains some pretty good advice for getting your website recognized, liked and successful in Google. I run 2 websites for a business and a couple for fun.
The business ones have been #1 in Google for their main keywords for a few years & this book contains a lot of the techniques I used to get them there in an increasingly competitive internet! I don't think I learned anything new, but if you are relatively new to website marketing or are wondering why your site falls on page 76 of Google for your main keywords, this is the book for you.

Quite a good reference book. There are some interesting tips and tricks for those who already know a bit about SEO but for those who know very little this is quite a good book to read.

At this time I am likely to zip through it again just to see if I missed anything valuable.

A short, quick read that contained several useful tips for new website creators or bloggers, on how to maximise their exposure using Google's search engine. What I liked was that his suggestions are easy to implement, and he offers lots of handy links to further your knowledge.

There was lots in here I didn't know. My websites are rubbish! It was easy to read, so that I could see there were concepts I didn't know, which you can't always in big blocks of technical data. Will read it again. Lots of tips and links to websites where you can learn what you don't know.
