Title: SNAP. Love for Blood. Book Five in the Kandesky Vampire Chronicles.

Genre: Paranormal romance

Author: Michele Drier

A witness. A trial. Protective custody. But when happens when the goons hunting the witness are supernatural? [Tweet this!] Can Maxie stay alive long enough to testify against a vampire prince, and sort things out with her vampire lover?

Maxie Gwenoch is managing editor of SNAP, an international gossip conglomerate. But there’s much more to the job than high fashion and celebrities. The business is run by vampires, and Maxie’s obligations include aiding her employers in a centuries old battle against a rival vampire clan.

Love for Blood is the fifth book in the Kandesky Vampire Chronicles. Since I hadn’t read books 1-4, the first chapter were a bit disorienting. However, since the book opens with Maxie having lost her memory, it works. She’s disoriented, too.

The plot is strong and fast-paced, with new challenges (romantic and otherwise) around every corner. I had a hard time putting the book down, and found myself reading long into the night. [Tweet this!]

Though Maxie’s relationship with her vampire lover is fairly well-established at this point in the series, the author manages to keep things fresh. And there’s a level of reality and maturity to the relationship that I appreciated. The character development, as Maxie comes to realize her life is changing and must decide how or if to cope with it, is strong.

I wish the book had been better edited, but it didn’t distract from my enjoyment of the book or the characters, and I look forward to book six, due out soon.

Love for Blood is a light, fast-paced read, which will appeal to someone looking for a fun escape into vampires, Europe, and fashion.

Excellent third book in the trilogy. I love the story of Maxie and Jean-Louis. Their adventures continue as Maxie has been taken hostage and the suspense builds through the entire book. The love between Jean-Louis and Maxie has its highs and lows and good times and bad times. I enjoyed watching their characters evolve throughout the book and understand the reasoning behind Jean-Louis' motives as Maxie hounds him for more information.
I devoured this book in a single day. I was so engrossed in the story as it led me through their adventures and sucked me in. I wanted to scream and yell with Maxie and at her at the same time. I found myself empathizing with her and with Jean-Louis.

I love having a good ending without a cliff hanger, but with one at the same time. :)

3 1/2 stars. Plenty of action in this book, but it should really be book 3 since it picks up a little after book 2 ends. Still has the editing issues (ex.- "This section was Switzerland was beautiful."), but has more action and still has the laughs. Things with Matthias come to a conclusion, and what happens next with Leonid and the Huszars is up in the air. Sweet ending with Jean Louis and Max. Plenty of changes happen to many of the characters. I really like the demons.
Max is a whiney character at times, and too often we're told about what the company does, but the characters are likeable. Feels like a YA book, but isn't.

What a great continuation

This is book 4 in the Kandesky family saga. We learn more about the family and Maxie & Jean-Louis's relationship proceeds. Adventure and romance hand in hand. Very exciting and satisfying, indeed. It kept me turning pages as fast as I could read. I wanted to reach the end for the resolution but also wanted it to continue because I love these characters and don't want to say good-bye. So, imagine my smile when I discovered there is a next book.Yeah!!!So get this one and then get SNAP:Happily Ever After. Highly recommended.

I loved this entire series! I liked how well the characters were developed and how the story line grabbed me from the beginning. I couldn't wait to start the next book! Michelle does a great job grabbing your attention and keeping it from beginning to end!
