This was one of the sadest books ive ever read. It is set in the 1950s(im assuming) in america. Its about thi woman who is being abused physically, psycologically and mentally and got married to a man she doesnt like who also abuses her. But eventually she gets rescued by a singer who was her husbands lover before she got married to him. Its a very interesting read and would recommend it all my friends.

I absoutly love this book because it shows how even the youngest of people can change your life dramaticly and keep their family together even though the characther's father rapes her at a young age and even manages to get her pregnent twice and only God knows what he did though those babys. But it really makes you appriciate what you have in life although you have very little.
