Decolonizing Peace

Rate this book
In this book, Victoria Fontan questions the pre-established assumptions that exist in peace and conflict studies, and brings forward an alternative epistemology that relates to non-conventional initiatives for peace that exist in various parts of the world. She argues that the first step toward decolonizing peace and conflict studies must be our realization that we are powerless in facing the destruction and injustices that we invariably bring with our peace.

For those who are interested in Peace and Conflict Studies, this book will bring you to explore and examine the key concept of peace studies in today society. It is not about how can we define such contemporary peace and achieve it in sustain society. But, Fontan's would bring us to the epistemology debate of the "price of peace" within our powerless situation among non conventional actors.
