THE CAVE

Rate this book
“THE CAVE” Bob and Megan are in love, and avid cave divers. To celebrate their marriage, they decide to go cave diving with friends to an unexplored underwater cave Bob discovered. But when a fellow diver’s prank turns into a tragic disaster, Bob, Megan, and their best friend Sara find themselves lost in a nightmarish network of underwater tunnels. With their air running out, they wash up on the shores of an underground lake, where a tribe of Neanderthals mistake their human visitors for gods. Escaping the cave, the three friends discover a clan of early humans. And so begins an epic quest for survival, in an untamed land where three unprepared individuals have to confront their primal essence in order to make it out alive. And a world in which they might not survive. “THE CAVE” is packed in profound moral questions, romance, murder, cannibalism, and time travel. It is an adventure tale that will curl your toes, a heart-pounding nightmare of being the hunted in an alien environment, and a courageous story of life, death, desperation, and human triumph. ForeWord Review Three Stars (out of Five) Jay Londo, the author of several novels, should be commended for attempting an epic tale of desperation and triuph. His subject matter covers such disparate topics as insurance fraud, romance, cave diving, early human existence, hunting, and time travel. Londo shows talent for developing and managing an extended plot that covers many years and many miles. Andi Diehn "Bob and Megan feel certain they are embarking on a life long journey of happiness. They are in love, and they have enough money to buy a house on Lopez Island in the Puget Sound area of Washington state. Even though mere days seperated the time the couple met and when they married, they believe that they are on the right path. But before they move into their new home, they must go on more dives with their friends. The vast, underwater cave that Bob discovered off the West Coast a few days before they met is too tempting to leave unexplored. Unexplored. Un fortunately, a fellow diver's prank turns into a tragic disaster when Bob, Megan, and her best friend, Sara, find themselves lost in an extensive network of underwater tunnels, rivers, and waterfalls. Luckily, before their air runs out, they wash up on the shores of an underground lake, where after some exploration, they find a tribe of Neanderthals who mistake their human visitors for gods. And so begins the friends' education in savagery, early animal husbandry, and survival.

I was born in Seattle Washington. I have lived in Washington my entire life. I currently am a long time resident of Lake Stevens Washington. I graduated for Shorecrest high school. I have been happily married for more than 23 years, to my wife Jennifer, we have two lovely children, one adult daughter is a fantastic person, and a 12 year old son. He's autistic, and is involved with the Special Olympics. Such a wonder full program. He participates in severally different sports, where he had taken gold, silver, and bronze in state.

I grew up in the construction field, both in residential and commercial construction as a career for more than 22 years. I immensely enjoy building things with my hands.
So when I started writing it was nothing more than a hobby in 2004. It started when I had a strange dream, and jotted an outline of it the very next morning. And the outline slowly developed into a story, one page turned into several. Somewhere along the way I discovered that I actually loved it, and the more that I began to write the more I developed a passion for it. And slowly I started developing my own writing style. I sort of think mine as a writing style across between “Michael Critchen” and “Jack London,” I like to tell a story, an interesting one at that, I like all my stories to be fresh, and exciting. I try to keep the readers wrapping into the story, as much as I can all the way thru. Character that continue to grow, and change all the way thru to the end of the book. Characters that challenge themselves. I also like to weave in messages into my stories. And most importantly I write in unpredictable endings. I also like to cover a wide-range of subjects, for my story lines, this gets me out of my own comfort level, and so challenges myself. The readers benefit by this. I think this helps make for a better storyline in the long run.

I published my first book in April of 2007. But after being seriously injured in a horrible auto accident I then started taking writing much more seriously. As a result the books kept on coming. As to date I have published six separate books, available in both paperback and e-format. I am currently wrapping up my tenth exciting novel due out in just a couple of months, which is a sequel to my best seller, "Alone in the wood.” I have also written my first movie script based upon my novel, “Attila’s Lost Gold.”

After I was hurt I had to try and reinvent myself, some I took up writing a whole lot more, as well as going out walking six days a week on a nature trail near my house. I enjoy doing things around the house, like gardening, and spending time with my family, who mean the world to me. As well as being involved with the Special Olympics. I love to travel; my favorite place to go is Hawaii, and Disneyland! My favorite food is Chinese. I love home cooking, and sweets. So it was a good thing I married such a fantastic cook.

I started writing when I realized I had such a vivid imagination, the only reason I hadn't start writing before 2004 was I was, and still am so horrible with spelling and grammar. One day I just stop letting that be an excuse not to. I learned I have a whole lot of stories still inside my head, just waiting to come out. I have a whole life-time of them, and to my surprise I discovered somewhere in all this putting words to paper, I absolutely came love to write. I actually credit writing for getting me through some pretty dark times after my accident! I write because I love to write, not because I have to. The best part about writing is sharing my stories with others, which gives me the greatest satisfaction. I do infuse things that have happened to me throughout my life, or people that I met being made into characters in one of my books. I have a saying," Be careful you just might end up in one of my books!"
