All my life I have served. One lord after another, I have given them my time, my body and my soul. My newest lord, however, is not one but three .
I have become the anchor to the three Aspects of Fate, the mortal chosen to teach the gods humanity. It seems an impossible task for any mortal to satisfy a god's wishes and I must serve three ?
Three lords means three times the frustration, three times the petty demands...
...and three times the pleasure.
This book is exactly what it says on the box - one woman and three men. The streams do not cross but everything else is on the table. Enjoy!
Ruby Dixon is an author of Science Fiction Romance. She likes fated mates, baby-filled epilogues, and cinnamon roll heroes. She also likes to write biographies of herself in the third person, because it feels more important that way.
Ruby also loves coffee and dirty books and will probably be a cat lady at some point. :)
I’ve wanted Yulenna’s story since she left the group in the first book to stay in the spooky tower with the three spidery fate gods. And now I know. She’s been having a good time. A very spicy, web cum, good time.
Damn, it wasn't good. I entered the story excited to see some character development for a woman who went through hell on Earth...
But when I went in, the heroine turned out to be a compulsive people pleaser to an extent of sacrificing any sense of her own comfort and self. And making a deeply traumatized person into a submissive little slave to three clueless and moronic men just felt cruel.
The said men were not only absolutely detached from reality, their complete lack of any self-reflection was insulting even to me, forget about how horrible it was towards the heroine. The painful (yes, very uncomfortable and icky) sex; the complete submission as a result of ingrained understanding of her own low status as human; lack of any kind of backbone - all of it was bad.
Dixon wanted to make a sexy kinky story about a woman with three men. Got it.
But fucking hell, give us a strong badass woman who is fed up with life kicking her in the guts since choldhood, give us a survivor, give us a fighter!
No, we've got this poor soul with the worst kind of life up until this moment - and instead of any sort of healing, we saw her offering sex and comfort as a sort of pay up to three self-centered empty guys who were treating her as an "intimacy" experiment (and somehow suddenly falling in love with her at the end, mmmokay).
Reading this was like watching a love-starved puppy get kicked over and over again - and coming back for more.
Fuck, this made me angry.
Thank you, Giorgia, for reading this mess with me.
I wish that there was a bit more development on the sex slave side if things but... I enjoyed it. Gave the leads a lot of grace because they're weird spider hermits but I definitely stated around because I loved the FMC with my entire heart.
Something weird happened to me in this one. I have a blast of good time reading this up until the point where they ALL join in the fun. IDK why but that scene had me cackling my lung out. It's so cringy and imagining it happened as if it was a movie, made it far more comedic than I thought.
Well, maybe it's a me thing.
Aside from that, WOW, I love how Ms Dixon incorporated the whole three connected being (beings?) sharing one anchor thing. I love how we got distinct differences between each of the Spidae. The weirdness of the situation aside, it was a pretty emotional ride for me. Having these stoic Fates learning to be human, interacting with and understanding them. What can I say, I love a good bonding moment between each pairing and when they're all together too. I think they got a good balance among all of them and these kinds of books are when RH/polyamory relationships win it for me.
Comparing it to the previous Aspect and Anchor books, this needed more. You might ask more of what? More fluidity, more personality, more odds, more content, more relationship depth, just more!
The story feels choppy and predictable at times. We're being constantly told instead of shown, which strips the characters of their personality and the story of its tone.
In the beginning, there was so much potential to explore these characters and the way their minds work, but sadly, all that gets put aside in order to move the story forward as quickly as possible.
If you are looking for a spicy book where things advance fast, and it's only focused on the relationship between a girl with three other dudes (which I still don't know if all of them are the same character or not), this might be the book you're looking for
This book is one of the few stories I've read which I've loathed with every inch of my being.
Should have CW upon CW.
Heroine is basically a sex slave. She is treated as one and worst of all she thinks and treats herself as one. She doesn't gain any agency, instead perpetuates the beliefs she held about her value her whole life. That first sex scene of her being used, yes USED, left me feeling beyond sad, and horrified and disappointed and I just wanted to cry for her and the situation. But mostly for her because she didn't think her situation was bad enough to merit crying over and someone SHOULD.
Yulenna's decision to become the anchor to the spidae turns out to be VERY enlightening. For all of them. I mean, Yulenna finds a place she thrives in and the three aspects learn from her humanity. YESSSS.
Which isn't to say things are easy. For any of them. Yulenna is used to being accommodating with whoever owns her and starts out her stay in the tower by hiding herself and agreeing to anything any of the fates want. Which isn't what the fates want AT ALL, as it turns out. So, yeah. There's a learning curve there. But BUT...they eventually figure out what it is they want and fall into a rhythm of sorts. Again, though, learning curve. The fates only have one human to figure out, Yulenna has three gods.
As for the fates, their aspects are past, present, and future and they're all wildly different. Zaroun (future) is the easiest for Yulenna to find common ground with at first. His ability to see the future is terrible and gives him little joy. He's happy to spend time with Yulenna and NOT see those around him withering and dying. Once Neska (present) and Ossev (past) see how things can between between them and their anchor, they start making an effort to be what Yulenna needs them to be.
Again, learning curve. Big learning curve there. Because, you know, they're gods and the whole reason they have an anchor is to give them the opportunity to learn from her.
Spiders, webs, finding how they all fit, long baths, teaching moments, and some serious steam once Yulenna breaks out of her comfort zone and starts asking for the things she wants. MAN, I like this world!
We met Yulenna in the first book in this series when she agreed to be the anchor to the three Spidae Gods. This is her story of making these three gods fall in love with her :)
A quick, hot read that was super fun!
TROPES: 3 or more people, fantasy romance, forced proximity, monsters, novellas
Is it reverse harem if they’re three aspects of the same deity? I know what Parmenides would say… but let’s go with yes. These spider dudes were the three gods of fate—one was weird because he saw the past, one was weird because he saw all the present, and one was weird because he saw the future. And they were all weird because SPIDERS.
I love this series so much. If you like adult fantasy romance and steam up the wazoo, then this series is for you! The best part is the way these god heroes aren’t just guys with god bodies and god libidos (although they have that too). It’s that their personalities aren’t human, especially at the beginning of the story—which just adds that perfect bonkers je ne sais quoi.
Always love a heroine who thinks every hole is a goal. The steam was steaming, but are we really surprised? And the way these gods could all read each other’s minds brought a little something-something to the intimacy.
But ultimately, I felt the same way about this reverse harem as I always do: as hot as the sex is, the multiple romance plots pull me in too many directions, I inevitably prefer some romance plots over others, and I have yet to find a reverse harem book (that isn’t fully poly) where the HEA romance vibes feel equally distributed amongst all the characters 🤷🏻♀️
In the end, I didn't like it as much as the other books in the series. It felt very flat and while the MMCs eventually learned to pleasure her sexually, I didn't buy that they learned to love anyone else, due to the nature of their God hood. It felt like less of a romance and more of a "here's what actually happened with these characters while the other three stories played out." The stakes are also really low from the beginning, as we already know Yulenna stays with the Spidae. So, if you don't mind a book that doesn't have a plot beyond Gods learning about consent and 4 people having sex together eventually, this is the book for you.

TO THIS?! Oh, that’s so moving. And emotional. 🥹 And hot. 😯 Also the spider that brings her food is kind of cute. 🥰
😆
Ruby Dixon does it again! I loved finally getting Yulenna’s story, and this takes place after she volunteers to be the Anchor to the 3 Spidae in Bound to the Battle God. It actually felt like erotica at times, because Yulenna started off in the position of ‘servicing’ the Spidae, and the sex scenes showed the progression of the relationships which grew to be quite sweet. I also appreciated the story and characters even more after reading the author’s note.
This is so goofy and lovely and hilarious and ugh loved it lol👏👏 idc how weird and horny it was, I’ll definitely return to these three again in the future 🤲🫶
Not really much plot but it also doesn't really need it. Just the characters falling in love and some spice. It is an easy mindless romance set in a world I have really enjoyed reading about. Like if I was going to lay on a beach on vacation with a cold drink and a book and forget all my problems this is the kind of book that would be great for that.
I wish it was longer and it just didn’t have the same tone as the other books in the series. I wish it held more of an epic story than a shorter novella. It felt like you could take this and out it in any of her locations.
And there is a happy spider pet named Apple. It’s so flippin’ cute ☺️ I skipped the rest of the series and went straight to this one because of the spideriness, but now I have to go back and read everything that went before
Servant to the Spidae is a novella part of Ruby Dixon’s Anchor & Aspect fantasy series. Yulenna agreed to be the anchor to 3 Spidae Gods. This is a quick read where they’re all learning how to care and show their affection for one another, Yulenna spends time separately with the trio of gods and gets to know what each of them want/need. Towards the end it started to feel repetitive and I think could have been shorter.
