A well-written and informative book that introduces core concepts and foundations of interpersonal communication. It has a good structure that builds upon each topic as well as referencing previously defined concepts and terms. The authors do a great job of summarizing each chapter and includes a section that gives advice on applying the theory to real life. In addition, it also features real-life examples, easy to read explanations with thought provoking exercises, and how studies were conducted on the various topics.
On the other hand, I wish there were more examples and transcripts of real life scenarios. Although some had examples, others did not. Furthermore, the thought provoking exercises did not offer any explanations or guides to infer how one should go about thinking about a problem to arrive at reasonable solutions.
