I am sorry to be rating this author so consistently poorly. I think we are just not right for each other. But I have got her entire Stolen Bride series in a bundle so I have no choice but to read on.
I find her highland stories bland. I think for me it has a lot to do with her style. It just does not read natural to me. I feel that I am reading a make-believe story and it is hard t connect when you feel that way about the characters.

Myra had the world put upon her shoulders with just one night of events that changed it all. She was now the laird of her clan and charged with the safety of her sister-in-law and her unborn babe and to delivery a very important message. Things almost begin to look up for her. She had released the care of her sister-in-law to people that could be trusted and was now on her way. She did what had to be done to make sure that message was delivered. Myra was strong, determined and a bit impulsive. Some of her honed talents over the years come in handy for her to do all she had set before her to accomplish.
Daniel was not what she was expecting. Nor was she what he was expecting but somehow, they made it work. The love that came out of it was more than anticipated by either party. With the peril around each turn, not knowing who can be trusted makes the journey that much more dangerous. Once in supposed safety things are not as safe as the should be. There was still danger known and unknown.
Daniel indeed gets his wife and Myra indeed must lead a clan but the work they do together makes it worth the sacrifice they each must make. Myra was the exact opposite of everything that Daniel thought he wanted in a biddable wife. That was all good because Eliza Knight makes it all work just well together in this highland adventure. Sometimes a highland man just needs to meet his match.

BORING SNOOZE FEST!!
SNOOZE FEST ROMANCE! I really was expecting so much more from Daniel's and Myra's story, but what I got was a boring story with no depth or layers to the story. The beginning starts out good. Myra's brother and Laird of their Clan Munro has been murder and the home an lands seized by her betroth Laird Ross. Myra manages to get to her brother before he dies an he tells her to go to William Wallace and Robert The Bruce and let them know they are being betrayed by the Ross Clan, who is now fighting on the side of England. Myra gets her pregnant sister in law Rose out of the castle and takes her to Laird Sutherland. As soon as she sees that Rose is safely in the hands of the Sutherland's, she proceed to Dunrolin to tell of the treachery and betrayal of Laird Ross. Daniel is their when Rose tells of what has happen to the Munro Clan her husband. He goes off with his men to help train the warriors under Robert the Bruce and he is also, looking for Myra. Of course they meet up and then its just one boring long ride to warn The Bruce of of Laird Ross's duplicity. The story need to have the support of secondary characters. You know they are there traveling with Daniel and Myra, but the entire time is consumed with their constant repetitive conversation with each other. A few kisses and that's just about it, in the romance department until the end. Oh, they Hand Fast but you would never know it. I also didn't like the way Myra characters was written as sneaky person. It got creepy how she was always sneaking around..She relays this info while her and Daniel are traveling. When they get to Dunrolin. She starts creeping and sneaking around there. I know she needed to obtain info but the ways it's written is just Creepy!! Sorry I didn't like this story at all.

The Highlander's Lady starts out with so much promise. I really loved the first half of this book. The opening chapters are full of intrigue and I enjoyed Myra's character. She was insecure but didn't let her insecurities keep her from taking action. It was sweet the way she took strength in knowing her brother loved her and would never ask her to carry out a task outside of her capabilities. Daniel is a great alpha hero. I loved him from beginning to end and all of his actions were consistent throughout the book. The chemistry between the characters is wonderful.
However, this story fizzled out for me in the second half for a few reasons. First, there ended up being no significant conflict between the hero and heroine. I found the whole background story about their first meeting to be a bit weak. But even that I could have overlooked if there had been more meat to the suspense part of the story - if Daniel and Myra were working together to beat the bad guy. But that part of the story fell short for me too. The way it was dealt with felt anticlimactic.
Myra also had a few TSTL moments that were irritating and I got a bit frustrated with her constant attitude of not wanting to rely on Daniel to help her clan. For crying out loud woman, that's what a good husband does. He stands by your side and helps you.
I also hate it when one character has to almost die or have their life threatened before the H/h admit their true feelings to each other. Man up, people and own your feelings. Perhaps that is just me.

Sebenernya saya udah pernah baca buku 1 & 2 dari series ini tapi udah lama banget tahun 2013, jadinya lupa ceritanya gimana. Tapi kayanya buku ini bisa berdiri sendiri karena hero-heroine di dua buku sebelumnya cuma disebutin sambil lalu aja. Jadi gak terlalu berpengaruh ke cerita. Buku ini menarik karena ada dua tokoh sejarah Robert The Bruce dan William Wallace yang ikut berperan. Ceritanya cukup berbobot meski tetap didominasi romance ya. Ada latar belakang perang melawan Inggris dan pengkhianatan.
Dibuka dengan penyerangan ke klan Munro yang bikin tegang karena digambarkan cukup detail apa saja yang dirasakan oleh Myra. Duka, marah, sedih dan takut. Dia berhasil melarikan diri bersama kakak iparnya yang sedang mengandung, sementara kakak lelakinya tewas beserta penduduk dan tempat tinggalnya dibakar.
Sejak kematian ibunya yang bunuh diri secara tragis, Myra semacam dipinggit dan sering disembunyikan dari orang luar. Tetapi Myra masih bisa 'berkeliaran' di koridor tersembunyi yang ada di balik tembok kastil, ternyata justru inilah yang menyelamatkan nyawanya saat kastilnya diserang. Sebelum meninggal, kakak Myra menitipkan pesan yang harus disampaikan Myra kepada Robert The Bruce bahwa Laird Ross berkhianat dan berpihak ke Inggris. Laird Ross ini adalah tunangan Myra yang mendalangi pembantaian klan Munro. Maka dengan mengemban pesan tsb, Myra pun berangkat ke tempat dimana The Bruce berada.
Di tengah perjalanan, Myra sempat diserang segerombolan orang namun Myra bisa melawan hingga menyebabkan leadernya terbunuh. Karena memang wanita berpergian seorang diri pada masa itu sangat berbahaya ya. Lalu ia bertemu dengan Daniel, Laird Murray, teman baik kakak Myra. Daniel ini beberapa tahun lalu sempat naksir Myra, ketika mereka bertemu di sebuah acara dan berdansa. Tapi sayangnya dia dighosting Myra dan sempet patah hati karena ngerasa ditolak pujaan hati. Padahal kejadian aslinya adalah Myra pergi sebentar untuk mengambil saputangannya buat diserahin ke Daniel, tapi pas balik dia lihat Daniel lagi dikelilingi cewek-cewek sambil flirting-flirting. Makanya Myra salah paham dan memutuskan pergi aja karena dia merasa gak spesial. Salah paham aja sih.
Pas ketemu lagi setelah bertahun-tahun lamanya, Myra gak mengenali Daniel dan Daniel pun pura-pura juga karena dia pengen mengulik rahasia yang disembunyikan Myra. Daniel pengen Myra percaya padanya. Untuk melindungi Myra, Daniel pun menawari Handfasting (nikah ga resmi), dan Myra mengiyakan dengan pertimbangan dia pengen memanfaatkan Daniel dan rombongan pasukannya untuk mengantarnya ke tempat the Bruce. Toh Handfasting kan sifatnya bisa sementara, Myra gak berniat nikah beneran. Cuma ya Daniel udah tahu itu. Dan kita semua tahu endingnya gimana wkwkwk... namanya juga novel romance.
Overall, saya enjoy banget baca novel ini. Gak sabar pengen lanjut ke novel selanjutnya tentang Ronan dan Julianna.

Highlander's Lady by Eliza Knight is an intriguing Medieval Romance set in the Highlands, in 1297. #3 in the "Stolen Brides" series, but each title can be read as a stand alone. Although, written in a conservative order.
Daniel and Myra's story is a thrilling story from beginning to end, I was entirely transfixed to the pages. The pull between Myra and Daniel is truly immensely entertaining. Daniel could at times, get on one's nerves with bemoaning his situation. Myra, is a strong, feisty heroine and shows she can and could protect herself. Daniel, is an alpha male, for sure. The two of them make a perfect match.
Ms. Knight has once again has given readers a tale of love, trust, treachery, betrayal, romance and love. A story of adventure with sizzling chemistry and an abundance of suspense. Ms. Knight's stories are vivid in details, you can also smell the heather. I enjoyed "The Highlander's Lady" immensely and highly recommend it to fans of Highland Romance, the turmoil of the Scottish countryside, the thrill of danger and romance amidst turmoil. Another great hit by Eliza Knight! !

Love the Sutherland’s
I love to read Eliza Knight’s stories about the Sutherland family. This story is about Strath who is Laird Mangus Sutherland’s son. Strath is the
Laird of Dornoch. He also does different jobs for his King Robert the Bruce. This mission is to go to England capture a man by the name of Lord Belfinch and to see if Lady Eva de Clare was alive. Lady Eva’s father the Lord Northwyck was being blackmail by Lord Belfinch. Belfinch is going to marry Lady Eva and there is no one who will stand up for Lady Eva.
Now arriving at the gate to capture Belfinch, Strath finds them in the chapel. Strath kidnaps Lady Eva. They head back to Scotland knowing that Belfinch and Lord Northwyck will follow.
Strath heads to Glasgow where his Uncle Jamie and Aunt Lorna live
Secrets start to unfold and learning to trust is important. Several things happens, I think that if you love Scottish stories you would enjoy reading this book.

Daniel and Myra.
Daniel Murray is laird and cousin to Magnus Sutherland. His mother and uncle are pushing him to marry. He plans to make one last adventure before he agrees to marry in the spring. On the way to serve with William Wallace and The Bruce he finds Myra in the woods crying after an attack. He recognizes her from years ago as the woman he was drawn to but she spurned him. He offered her safe escort to deliver her message to the Bruce if she would marry him. She reluctantly agreed. Myra’s brother had been killed in a battle that was led by an enemy to the Bruce who pretended to be an ally. Her brother asked her to warn the Bruce about the traitor before he died. Myra and Daniel hand-fasted and their journey began. Great story with great characters.

Reunited
I've been reading the series . Like the previous stories, I enjoyed this book. In this story 2hearts are reunited after a misunderstanding that occurred several years earlier. Unfortunately, Myra and Daniel are meeting under unhappy circumstances. Myra's home was attacked and her brother Byron was murdered by a man the Bruce, Scotland's king, trusts, but who means the Bruce harm. Myra must get to the Bruce to warn him about the traitor and after an attack by outlaws as she tries to do so, Myra believes Daniel is the only one who can help her get to the Bruce safely. I loved it
Book 3 in series but can be read as a stand-alone
Well written with great characters. Lots of action, a strong, determined Myra on a mission to save the King; meets an equally determined Daniel who wanted one last adventure before settling down to wed.
Thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and made the sizzling chemistry between Myra & Daniel a page turner for me.

Though the language was bad;; just because it existed in those days doesn't mean you have to use them so much.but it was the sexual content that was disgusting. Page after page of disgusting filth. It just isn't necessary to make a book good. I had to leave through Page after page and it didn't take me long to get through the whole book since most of it was filth!!!

Another awesome sequel! Out of all of the heroes so far, I think Daniel might be my favorite. I love Mira's bravery- and the fact that she's comfortable being who she is, even if she ends up spending a lot of time in the chapel doing penance.
Great plot, good sex scenes, likeable characters.

one big yawn
The only reason I keep reading and listening to these books because they are written for the late 1200’s and early 1300’s. I want something different. I have no idea of what relationships were like between men and women but the author’s depiction does not feel true

Very good
This was a good story that fit in well with the series. It is perfectly fine as a stand alone. I enjoyed the characters, Daniel and Myra. It was an interesting journey that they had to take. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Good read. A little steamier than I like but still enjoyed the character development, the intrigue of the story line and historical times. Will read others in series since they were loaned to me.

I thought Myra was a dullard and not telling people who murdered her brother was just dumb. Hope the stories get better as I continue on.

A Scottish highland story steeped with historical details is such a nice delight and escape for any reader. This series is great because it's filled with adventure, romance, pain, and very treacherous endeavors with the backdrop of the Scottish people fighting for freedom from English aggression.
This is the 3rd book in the series, and although the series is about fierce Highland warriors determined to defend their freedom from English oppression, they encounter "the woman" along the way, but remain the constant gentlemen.
Laird Daniel Murray is quite the gentleman with Lady Myra throughout the book. There are a lot of details in this story, but the bottom line is that Lady Myra has been given the weighty task of warning "The Bruce" about enemies within, but she needs protection as the Scottish countryside is filled with danger. So, Laird Daniel comes across her in the forest and offers her protection in exchange for her commitment to marry him. That is the crazy part about these Highland warriors...they know immediately what they want and go for it...lol Well, of course she's going to agree, but you can't just fall in love over night.
This love story unfolds with each experience and danger pulling Laird Daniel & Lady Myra closer to one another. I like how Daniel knew right away that he wanted her for his wife, but it takes him time to gain her affection and heart-felt commitment. Lady Myra does not trust easily & when you consider her background it's understandable. It takes her a long time to trust others including Daniel. She is such a feisty, brave and strong heroine.
It seems like these books are all about the tension that builds up between the two lovers throughout their journey. Laird Daniel & Lady Myra don't consummate their love until very close to the end of the book. Their relationship is fun, sweet & all about finding a balance between two very strong characters and natural leaders. This is, overall, a very good story.
I listened to the audiobook version and I really enjoyed Corrie James's narration. She did a great job with all of the male & female voices. Her timing was so good and she evoked just the right emotions in her inflections in voice. Nice listen!

I enjoyed this latest installment in the Stolen Bride series very much. It was a quick read with external and internal conflict, without too much angst.
Myra has to deliver a message to Robert the Bruce about a traitor in his inner circle, but a woman traveling alone through the Highlands is a magnet for trouble. Enter Daniel. He recognizes her from a past meeting and offers to escort her. Of course, they must handfast to truly protect her. Actually, he had been quite taken with her years ago and wasn’t about to let her get away again. The details of who left who at this first meeting is one source of conflict for the two. They both have issues that have them thinking they are not meant to lead a traditional family life and love.
Their trust in each other grows slowly during their journey. Ultimately, they confide all their secrets and work together. Keeping secrets is a huge pet peeve for me, so I appreciate that they shared all before the secrets came out in other ways. The journey allows them time to learn each other beyond their attraction. There is action (battles and close calls) along the way, but it isn’t constant. The story still flows along quickly, though. If you want a Highlander story that isn’t deep on history or emotional angst, this is a great book.
Looking forward to picking up #4.
