Gerhard von Rad (1901-1971) was Professor of Old Testament at the University of Heidelberg and was the premier Old Testament theologian of the twentieth century. Among his many publications are Old Testament Theology, 2 vols. (1962-1965), Wisdom in Israel (1972), and Genesis (rev. ed. 1972).

Gerhard von Rad was Professor of Old Testament at the University of Heidelberg in Germany until his death in 1971. He is the author of several books, including Wisdom in Israel and Holy War in Ancient Israel.

کتاب معرفی موسی نیست. بیشتر تفسیری مسیحی از عهد عتیقه. نویسنده الهیدان مسیحیه و نه مورخ، برای همین روایتی که ارائه میده روایتی الهیاتیه. سعی می کنه عهد عتیق و داستان موسی رو از دریچۀ مسیحیت نگاه کنه. اگر می خواید بدونید یه مسیحی چه درک و برداشتی از عهد عتیق داره، کتاب خوبیه. اگه می‌خواید عهد عتیق رو بشناسید، نه چندان.

اولین کتابی هست که از گرهارد فون راد میخونم و آشنایی ای در حدِ نگاهِ کوتاهی به ویکی پدیا و نت باهاش دارم. انتظار داشتم تاریخی از زندگیِ موسایِ مشهور باشه ولی چیزی که روایت شده بود در آغازش نِقبِ کوتاهی بود به آغازِ زندگیِ موسا و بعد کنار گذاشتنش به نفعِ خدایِ عهد عتیق برای پیش کشیدنِ تفسیری مُتألهآنه. نویسنده حکایت هایِ عهد عتیق درباره موسا رو روایت هایِ هَم-نهشته ای میدونه که باورمندان به یهودیت به صورتِ شفاهی و سینه به سینه طیِ سده های متمادی بازتفسیر و بازسازیش میکردن و از این نظر بازتابی از شیوه دین ورزی اونهاست در کنارِ تصویری که از این پیامبر به دست میدن.
در واقع نویسنده نگاهِ عینی و تاریخی نداره و تلاشش یادکرد هایی از عهد عتیق هست برای تفسیرِ آیه های متفاوت به قصدِ بازخوانیِ جدیدی از اونا با نیت بازسازیِ یک نگاهِ ایمانیِ تازه. عینکِ دینیِ نویسنده چندان از چشمش نمیفته و کتاب برایِ علاقه مند به سنت تفسیریِ عهد عتیق و جدید میتونه سودمند باشه ولی برایِ کسی که جویایِ تحقیقی تاریخی و مدرن درباره شخصیتِ موسا هست این کتاب چندان دندان گیر نیست.
