After surviving another attempt on her life, Keema Newell proves that a true hustler never dies. As a ghetto superstar and queen of the streets, she struggles to put the pieces of her life back together, while trying to tame her now notorious daughter, Treasure. Money, murder and mayhem comes from every angle as Keema finds herself in a viscious web of deceit, tearing apart the lives of everyone she comes in contact with. Ultimately, becoming fair game for her ruthless enemies. Little does she know, her own daughter has plans to step in and take over the throne. As the plot thickens, the rules of the game have changed. Both are determined to come out on top but Keema has no plans on surrendering her crown.
This was a very good read. Keema in the end finally got what many feel that she deserved. But the way she lived is the same as many other women on the welfare system. It is so sad that some people have no choice but to learn their lesson the hard way. You can only get away with so much dirt before Karma comes to your doorstep.
This entire series was so good. Karma finally found Keema after all the death and destruction she caused she still didn't own up to her wrong. Glad Treasure got a second chance and vowed to get rid of the dysfunction she had grown up around hope she stays on the straight and narrow
The first two books in the trilogy were "the bomb," but this one was a little lackluster. I don't know if the author was in a hurry for this series to end or if she was tired of it, but her lack of "effort" is evident. Albeit a good story, plucking us down in the middle of a now 16-year-old Treasure, the story is too fast-paced and you can't sit back and enjoy the wild ride you might have been expecting. But, if you read the first two, you must read this one. The ending will truly surprise and might even sadden you.
Welfare Grind 3 was pretty good it was a good way to end this series even though the title had nothing to do with the story line. Keema despite everything that she went through she still chose greed over family and loyalty, Treasure who was groomed to be just like her mother was a force to reckon with on her own and she seemed to have learned a few lessons the hard way herself.
Wow this is definitely a book that you can't put down with such a shocking ending. I couldn't believe that all of the stuff that happened Kendall Banks is a great author
