Boys as well as girls will enjoy this battle between the forces of good and evil. Beginning with Marcus Mender acquiring a power he can’t control, the tension is ratcheted up when a lodestone in a South American desert becomes super magnetized so that the closer the two factions get to it, the more intense their individual powers become.
However, the lodestone has reversed its magnetic poles, and suddenly it’s difficult to tell the good guys from the bad guys—even the individuals are no longer sure—the good guys tempted toward evil, while the bad guys are shocked to realize they’re suddenly nice! A five-star fun read.
