A solid foundational source of the mechanics and chemistry of groundwater for the aspiring hydrogeologist or geotechnical engineer. Some information on recent case studies, as well as the authors' outlook on future progress of the field, is quite dated (as it was written 40+ years ago). Nevertheless, the subtle narrative voices of the authors were interesting in a historical context, and at times entertaining.
