I have to say that this book spoke to me. It's amazing how when you're going through something, the devotional for that day or the theme for that week seems to be relative. I appreciate Joyce's candor and think her lessons are the perfect reminders as we walk through life, Jesus is walking right along with us, there to help, if only we stop and listen. I already have my devotional ready for next year!

I'm sad to say that I wasn't impressed with this devotional. I feel that she made most of the devotional focused on her, her feelings, and experiences, and little focus was placed on actual scripture and scriptural fact. I really lost interest about half way through the devotional, due to a great deal of repetition, and only stuck it out for the sake of giving it the benefit of the doubt.... Sadly, the more I read, the less impressed I was... Definitely won't be reading it again, and actually put my copy (that I bought) in the bag to donate to my local library book sale.. :(

I really enjoyed this book. It's the second of her devotionals I've read all the way through and I'll probably have the fourth finished within the week (I got a bit behind on this one, which does not have dates).
It's really a God-thing that many times she is speaking to me from God about something that is going on in my life at the moment.
Will be picking out a new one or two to read in this upcoming year. Thank you, Joyce. THANK YOU, God.

I have a hard time reading Joyce's books sometimes. Don't know why, I just prefer listening to her on audio. But this book I rented from the library first, and got so used to reading it daily, I had to buy the thing. Short little one pages to get your day started right with God, or to re-start your day at anytime. Fabulous. 5 star. I see it has a higher rating in general than most of her other books.

Read Love Out Loud last year and was so inspired by Joyce's words that we felt compelled to read another daily devotional by her in 2013. Must say that this book was even better. Joyce's everyday situations, personal experience, biblical references and inspired reflections will comfort & encourage the reader while taking them on a spiritual journey to grow closer to God each day.

A power-packed little devotional! The readings are short and Joyce Meyer-styled to the point. A great way to start the day, and gives me something to contemplate during the day.

Goodreads pushed this suggestion on my feed. They truly have no calibration when it comes to religious works.

Joyce Meyers is a part of the Word of Faith charismatic movement which is basically a proponent of the prosperity gospel. The movement basically views God as your personal ATM machine, and if God isn't fulfilling your every desire for wealth and prosperity, then it's your fault--you lack faith. It's a "give to get" type of faith, which is not the gospel. That is having faith in your own faith, not faith in God.

As of 2019 she has amended that to say that Christians can undergo hardship, but the way out is to paper over reality with "positive thoughts" which is a feel good New Age mantra. These New Age practices offer only an unending cycle of spiritual thirst because they do not address the root issues that cause lack of peace and joy in a person. God is not our thoughts.

She also teaches that no one can go to heaven unless they believe what she teaches. Unfortunately she teaches that the Atonement was not complete in Christ crucified, that he had to go to hell and that he took your personal spot in hell for you.

Basically, Joyce Myers teaches blasphemy and has enriched herself doing so.

This movement will not bring you to Christ but will lead you away.

Even though the months not up yet. I can say this is a great book. So inspiring and up lifting. If you feel like life has just beat, you down God's word carries you each and every day, along with Joyce's stories that I believe relate to one person or another that goes through hard things daily.
I recommend this to everyone... Great gift for those who need encouraging on a daily basis. Gina Clabo

I like this reflection book better than my previous one because it is more “rich” with scriptural references. Compared to the happy, gentle reflections of the last book, this one is dense with practical truth for continuous lifelong principles. It is the meat compared to the milk. Joyce tends to be more right/wrong conservative in her perspective, but I can appreciate it without it being too didactic.

This is a decent daily devotional for the year. It includes a snippet of scripture, a small commentary, and then a way to carry this idea through the day. The main issue is that some of the commentaries became somewhat repetitive and it was as though the author, Meyer, were trying to connect to the reader, but didn't really want to share too many details to illustrate that. Overall, though, a nice daily reading to start the day.

Nice way to start my day

This book has become a staple as one of my early morning devotionals. The only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5 is because the author inserts her interpretations or words she wishes to emphasize through clarification of the quoted scripture using parentheses I’d prefer to just read the scripture as it’s written But I’ve learned to ignore these commentaries. Very nice thoughts and lovely devotional

I love all of Joyce Meyer's devotions. I especially love how she focuses on paying attention to our own walk with God and not judging others. She is very honest about her struggles with her own shortcomings. As a minister myself, I deeply appreciate her honesty, and her practical advice. She is a wonderful teacher!

I absolutely love Joyce Meyers. She really is a treasure when it comes to speaking about her trials in life and how God has helped guide her through difficulties. I can relate on several levels. I recommend this book to anyone who feels like they don't have enough time to spend reading a bible study, but doesn't want to pass up the powerful opportunity of taking in God's words.

A good devotional for the year

I enjoyed this devotional for 2021. It was just what I needed each day. Joyce started with scripture then commentary then a point to ponder. Thank you for a great devotional.
