A broken mind. A shattered past. A chance to love.
Autumn is not your average twenty-one year old. She often has trouble just leaving her house. The anxiety is like a curse, threatening to pull her under at any time. She uses music to help her cope. The music that helps the most is by one of the worlds top bands – Infusion Deep.
As lead singer of Infusion Deep, Finn should be on top of the world. His band is one of the hottest on the planet. But for the last two years, he hasn’t been able to write a thing. The band is depending on him, but inside he feels broken and alone.
Can a chance meeting help them to heal? Or will their problems lead them both to heartbreak?
**A clean romance with mild language and themes.** *This is a complete story and can be read as a standalone.*
Well that was interesting, in the most angsty teen way imaginable. This is a story about 2 very broken teens...well young adults who act like 15 year olds, who have had rough lives. They really believe they don't deserve each other and if I had to rename this book, that is what I would call it. I Don't Deserve You, No I Don't Deserve You! Back and forth said between each other. The insta love was over the top. The crazy stalker that slides in at the last of the book was over the top. There is just a lot here that doesn't get fleshed out or worked threw and you are just left at the end of the book with two broken people who now have each other and we all know how that turns out in real life. So not my type of book, but I did finish it, strangely enough. Lots of time on my hands lately or I probably wouldn't have. This book has a weird Christian element that is slid in under the radar. It has talk of sex by others but is not inappropriate, you just know there stance on the subject. There is talk of sexual and physical abuse by parents. This does not go into detail. There is an attempted rape, that does not get far. There is OCD, PTSD and mental disorders they deal with. Lots of poor me and I'll never be good enough for anything crap. There is some kissing. I would still say this is for 16 and older because of the subject matter.

While the storyline was ok it seemed to rushed to me. I feel it dragged on in the beginning and then ran through the more intense scenes fairly quickly which didn’t really help with giving (to me) the depth of the storyline. I’m sorry while this could have been an epic story for me it flopped and I love cheesy Romance stories.
There is lots of drama to be had in this book. For me, it was a little too heavy on the drama but I liked enough about this book to come back for the second book.. The song lyrics were awesome. I also loved how family in this book was a choice, not blood.
Content: mild swearing, drinking, abuse mentioned, almost rape, mild violence
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Two broken souls find each other and help each heal. Autumn suffers from acute anxiety and the only thing that helps her cope is music, especially from the rock band, Infusion. Finn, the lead singer and song writer has been in a funk for the past two years. He's fought writers block and depression. A chance meeting between him and Autumn brings inspiration to both of them. No spoiler here, but do these two lost souls help each other find themselves?
I wanted to love this story, but in the end it was just there. The premise was good, the start of the story was good, but overall it was below than okay for me. I ended up skimming. It felt forced. I don't think the hero was strong enough to be with someone like the heroine and I think the heroine would never get over her issues. The heroine needed someone who was strong and would take charge, but the hero was not that guy. The BFF ended doing most of the "work" in the end.
Such a sweet romance between two imperfect, flawed people. Yet they inspire each other and make each other stronger and better. I picked this up from KU and enjoyed reading this and following each one’s progression throughout the book. I can comfortably recommend this story to all young adults and older. A very clean romance. The one reason I gave it only 4 stars is the many missing words throughout the book. It was easy enough to figure out what the missing words were but still kinda makes me wonder where they all went.
Two people fated to meet. This is instalove that takes a while to take hold for at least the heroine. While the story is sweet, and has some fairytale elements in it (even lampshaded during a cute sequence about nicknames). There are heavy themes involved, including recovering and dealing with guilt, PTSD and a whole lot of bad parenting.
While I thought some of the internal narrative of the characters was too on the nose (not leaving anything between the lines) it still grabbed me and towed me along until the end.
This is as different kind of rocker romance. The elements are there, but the erotic stuff is not. The band is good, the characters are real, with real issues. Autumn is a girl with a past, Finn is a rock star with a past. Can they truly be soul mates? This book touched on groupies, drugs, and bad decisions but in a way that doesn't make them the focus of these guys story. Really recommend this book. Looking forward to Wes' story.
I really enjoyed the alternating povs of the main characters. I usually find them confusing but in this book it is very fluid. I look forward to reading Wes's story.
This was such an incredible love story. Two souls broken who find each other through all the adversity, in each of their lives. Awesome hopefully we will see more of Finn and Autumn.
It’s refreshing to read a clean and uplifting, youthful romance. The characters and the angst and baggage they brought into the story, was both engaging and uplifting. Nicely paced page turner, with a happy ending. What more can we want from any romance fiction?
Let me start by saying, Lara Wynters wrote a wonderful book! This is the first time I have read her novels and I wasn't disappointed. I give Infuse a big 4.25 stars.
This is a safe romance with no steamy scenes in it. It's not my typical kind of romance read but I really enjoyed it. Sometimes it is nice just to read a love story without all the spicy details, just so you can really grasp the full affects of the characters feelings for each other.
The story line was your basic rockstar trope but with a twist. This time it is the rockstar that falls for the fan, not the other way around. The story actually took me by surprise because it lead me in a direction that I didn't think it would take. For spoiler reasons, I will not get into too much detail about this, as it would ruin the book if I did.
Because I know there is books that come after this in the series, I would say that Ms. Wynter started building an intoxicating world, that I was sucked right into. The whole story I felt like she described each situation and each place visited with enough detail that the story became very rea;. Going into the other novels in this series, I believe will be easier as you get a good map of the characters lives in this first book. I believe that she has set it up so this world can be built upon and the stories intertwining.
As for character development, I believe this is probably the best part of the book. These characters are pretty complex for this seemingly simple book. Autumn and Finn both have their issues and they are some that I haven't seen often in these types of books. Ms. Wynter writes these character so well, that I felt like I knew them personally and could relate 100% with Autumn. It is nice to feel seen sometimes.
The only thing I wish was that everything wasn't so rushed. The book jumped a lot, almost in the middle of a chapter sometime. There were some parts that I feel could have been cut out to make more rooms for some of the suspense in the book. Parts were over descriptive and could have been cut back a bit. But overall a great book!
Infuse by Lara Wynter is such a compelling story. It’s not your average romance story, in fact it is so much more. Autumn, a twenty-one-year-old girl with a serious anxiety disorder has problems with anything normal. At times she secludes herself to her house unable to leave. And Finn, well he’s a rock star. All the girls love him and he’s used to being in the spotlight. But lately he’s seemed to have lost his mojo. His heart doesn’t seem to be in it anymore and as he goes out on stage, he feels as though no one really knows him. And to top it all off, he’s hit a writing wall. He can’t seem to put even a chorus together. That is until he meets Autumn.
This is a brilliant story that touched my heart. I fell in love with Finn and Autumn from the very start. Thank you Lara Wynter for a creative and touching story! Infuse…the best band book of the year! I look forward to more great stories by this author.
Romance, clean, but some language and adult situations, some faith elements; Series, but stand alone read Finn's and Autumn's 'fall' was a lovely read. Hardships, faults, health issues, and the struggles with fame. There were so many elements. More of a 3.5 for me as a reader, but their hearts were so well painted, their inner conflicts, struggles, and motivations were pretty well there. A few minor things for me, that pulled me away, but I definitely loved reading this one. Love finding a new author I enjoy!
Since Amazon UK doesn't have the "look inside" option via mobile, I bought this based purely on the description and sadly didn't get around to attempting to read it during the first 14 days, which would have meant I could return it.
I can't really offer a full review, since I didn't read more than the first few pages. It might be a great story, but I'll never know, because it's written in first person, a writing style I loath.
I love the idea of the book. But I felt lost in the beginning. As if I’d missed a book or something. Once I let go and just went with what was presented, I did really like it. Finn is so intense. I love his closeness to Wes. And once he allows himself to love Autumn, well theirs is a wonderful love.
Wow. Simply incredible. This rockstar romance was everything I could’ve asked for and so much more than I expected. I was thrown for a loop time and time again. Unexpected and wonderful! I cannot wait to read more!!
it was an ok book. I don't know why I couldn't get attached to the characters. I wanted to know what happened between Finn and Autumn but I found it a bit lacking. it was al so quick then they were separated. it just jumped a little for me. easy read.
