Rate this book
Megan Marie Cardoza is a twenty-six-year-old media CEO with a less-than-impressive personal life. When Meg's best friend, Emily, returns to town, she and Meg's siblings shake things to the core. This prompts Meg to reveal her true feelings for her ex Alex, and to give in to the needs that she's been suppressing for six long years. After a steamy reconciliation between her and Alex, everything seems to be falling back into place, until their past comes back to slap them in the face; at their engagement party no less. With the arrival of Meg's parents and the continued interference by Alex's father, who hates Meg, secrets much deeper than they ever expected, float to the surface and threaten to rip Meg and Alex apart. With fatal results for some. When everything she thought she knew is in question, Meg must decide if the secrets are too much to bear and enough to walk away for good.

This is the first time in reading this author with the first thing that drew me was the title. If you love intrigue once you begin this one you will find it does take care of that in very large doses. Not to be mistaken though this book also contains high doses of romance with at times steamy that if you wear glasses they might have to be removed. Alex and Meg are the focus but there are also others that scene steal at times also. As they rekindle a relationship they thought they had let go others have different ideas for them that do not include them being together. Someone they hold near and dear will leave to confront the past but get lost in the shuffle that will add to the intrigue on where are they? When that answer along with a few others pop up you will find yourself at times reading with your mouth hanging open. Lies that have weaved the deceptions that are in this book are also exciting to see them uncovered. Some of the biggest deceptions will be people are not really who they say they are but they think they can get away with it. One of the good things I liked about this one it was a little different plus not easy to figure out. When it comes to mystery and intrigue like to do that. The real clincher also is the ending was not expected which is why books such as these can be fast page turners trying to get to the bottom of things. Characters with back bones a bonus too. Received a arc for a honest review.

This gritty novel is full of lies, deceit, honesty, hope, dreams, and hate. Meg Cardoza thinking of the past is dreaming of her ex Alex Hanover and their parting six years ago. Meg's sisters and brother along with her best friend Emily hatch a plan to get Meg and Alex back together again. They know one look can change everything. All Alex ever wanted was Meg and this time she's not getting away from him that easily. Meg and Alex's chemistry is undeniable yet can they bridge the gap to the past to right the wrongs. Ben Hanover loathes and hates Meg with a passion and hatches a plan to destroy Meg and Alex happiness. Will Ben's plan succeed? Can Meg and Alex survive Ben's plan? Your answers await you in Circle of Deception.

I gotta admit I was hooked from first to last page. Secrets, lies, hazy memories, and dreams surround this tale. The author did an excellent job of weaving this story that crossed not one generation but two. The characters were rich, bold, and real. I would like to see the author present another book to this one because I have many questions that haven't been answered.

Circle of Deception starts out with a bang. Literally. Megan Cardoza walks right into a plot to reunite her with her ex-love, Alex Hanover. Meeting her friends and siblings at a restaurant, she's surprised when Alex shows up and sits down next to her. They haven't seen each other in a long time but, when Megan goes to the ladies' room, Alex follows her and, the next thing you know, they're having hot sex against the bathroom wall.

Though they'd never stopped loving each other, Megan and Alex had pursued different paths, with Alex moving away. Now that Alex has moved back into town, they find themselves falling straight back into their old relationship. Everyone seems happy about the news except for Alex's dad. The reader doesn't really find out what Alex's dad has against Megan, until later in the book but he does everything within his power to try and break the couple up again.

Sometimes funny, sometimes sexy, sometimes mysterious, Circle of Deception will definitely keep your interest until the last page. The cast of characters, themselves, make this book one worth reading.

Megan Marie Cardoza runs a life as a powerful CEO but has a less than impressive love life. After finding her one true love in bed with another woman she has pretty much just been on her own and swore off all men.

Alex does not recall anything that happened the night that he lost his true love. Being away from her for six years has been pure torture.

When mutual friends decide to take matters into their own hands Megan and Alex will have a very steamy rekindling. What they don’t know yet is their past is full of deception, lies, secrets and scandal.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and let me tell you this was a fun read. There are so many surprise turns that I just could not put this book down. I really hope that I get to enjoy more from the author. The writing is great and the suspense will leave you begging to find out what is really going on. Talk about keeping the reader on their toes.

Awesome read!

My sincere thanks to the author for providing me with a complimentary e-book copy in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed this book full of twists, lies, secrets, mystery and love with some very steamy scenes.

I did find that about the first 40% was a little too unbelievable in the way that the couples got back together after six years of believing they had been betrayed. It just seemed too easy and the dialogue didn't seem very believable. The story gets exciting though when the first twist is revealed and breaks up Alex and Meg once again. After that it's hard to put the book down wanting to know what happens next and who can be trusted.

A fun read that will keep you guessing until the very end.

I really enjoyed this romance book by M. Skye. It was sexy, hot and fun. The characters were easy to connect to and I loved Meg. Meg seemed really career focused, but she wasn't having any fun in her life. When she meets up with her best friend Emily, Meg decides she is ready to have some fun. Meg runs into her ex Alex and they rekindle their love affair. Meg is finally living her life and doing something fun that she really enjoys. Meg and Alex get engaged and want to spend their lives together. The only thing stopping them is their families. The family tension almost breaks up Meg and Alex, all the deception between the characters brought out a lot of tension and emotions. I was a big fan of this book and I hope to read something by M. Skye again in the future.

Who doesn't love a good story about long lost loves who've reunited!? M. Skye presents her own classic twist on the form and it is HOT. LIKE. FIRE!!! I enjoyed Circle of Deception from the very start and I found it SO hard to put down! It's a quick read filled with love, lust and lots of lies and shenanigans from this interesting group of friends amd associates. The characters are very memorable and Ms. Skye does a great job of giving each character their own unique "voice".

The passion in the story is off the METER and the storytelling is superb. The stuff a great soap opera is made of! Check this one out! You will not regret it!

This is an excellent read! I seem to find myself on an emotional roller coaster from the cover to the last page. M. Skye covers all corners of Meg's life journey. From the lies and heartaches, to the laughs and steamy encounters! I felt myself maturing with the characters as the book reads on. The way I felt about some of the situations, Gio had the heart to say aloud, not caring who he was with nor where he was. Twists and turns leave you wanting more, and the betrayal?!?....the betrayal forces you to choose sides of the households, as well as friends.

Circle of Deception had twists in the storyline throughout the book making the book hard to put down once you start. From the beginning when family and friends trick friends who used to be a couple into seeing each other to the surprising ending, there is always something happening. Who is being deceitful? The parents, adult children, or all of the above. And why?

Circle of Deception well deserves 5/5 stars from me.

Great read!! It has everything......the dynamics of relationships, misunderstandings and steamy make-up/make-out (is that even used anymore:) sessions! Meg is accomplished and seems a little damaged, emotionally, but seeing the transformation and the depth that her attraction for Alex entails, makes me say to myself.......JUST GO FOR IT! The sexy scenes helps to build the characters and helps us envision all the possibilities in relationships....past and present! Way to Go, M. Skye!

First of all, I'm glad I got this through KU because it's priced pretty steep for only 61 pages. The plot was a skewed all over the place for me. There was very little actual dialogue between characters and when there was, it wasn't particularly realistic.
