Gentle Sinners #3

Broken Worth

Rate this book
Beatrice wants to punish all who have hurt her.

Beatrice had more than accepted her role as a daughter of the mafia. She relished the passion she found in her arranged husband’s arms, never anticipating that the marriage contract would be broken to appease her father’s sins. Beatrice is left to an abusive monster instead, where her hopes disintegrate past her breaking point.

Montrell knows he’ll never earn forgiveness.

Without the proper pedigree, Montrell struggles for power among La Cosa Nostra. He’s overwhelmed when the mafia princess he’s betrothed to gives herself to him before the wedding, and is left reeling when she then backs out of the contract. Too late, he realizes she hadn’t been part of the betrayal.

When Montrell sees firsthand the life Beatrice has endured, blood spills. He forces her into their promised marriage as the only way to protect her, but on their wedding night has to face how deep her scars run. As he slowly shows her the respect she deserves, her mistrust begins to thaw. Soon they are making decisions for the family together, and Beatrice revels in the power and control she always craved.

Desire grows again between them, but with it comes new doubts and returning enemies. They vow to face them together, and this time Beatrice is willing to raze the earth to hold onto her future with the man she loves.

With wounded but vengeful heroines and protective, morally gray heroes, the Gentle Sinners series contains interconnected standalones with steamy, open door scenes and no cliff hangers.

Amber Warden’s stories often include characters overcoming tragic pasts or current hardships and may include situations that not everyone would like to read. Content notes are included in the look inside to help you decide if this story is for you.

A former numbers cruncher, Amber Warden left the accounting world to write emotional and steamy contemporary romance instead.

Her main hope is for those reading to take away the feeling that they are more than enough for anyone.

When she's not writing, she's reading shoujo manga, playing otome games, and listening to her favorite J-rock music.

She'd love to hear from her readers:

REVIEW
content warning: mentions of suicide and sexual assault

Okay so, I truly did like this book, and had I not just read the two before in the series, it probably would’ve been five stars. The characters were strong and lovely, but I love the previous couples so much that they’re hard to compare to.

I have two small qualms with this book. The first: I don’t know what information Beatrice and her former husband’s family had on her father to blackmail him. I could’ve missed it, as there was a confrontation at the end, but truthfully, I don’t know if the revealed information was supposed to be the leverage or not because it didn’t seem impactful enough to get him to agree to extortion to be honest.

My second qualm is more personal preference, but it’s the use of the phrase “unalive herself”. In a book that doesn’t shy away from describing and depicting sexual assault, I didn’t understand why the talk of suicide was censored in that way. Maybe it was meant to soften the harshness of the words, but the use of the phrase on TikTok to (validly!) work around censorship was jarring. I personally feel like “she’d tried to end her life” would’ve worked if the author were trying to avoid saying, “killed herself.”

My complaints aside, I really did like this novel. Montrell was so kind, patient, and selfless. Beatrice’s actions could be frustrating, but she deserves all the grace for healing however she can. By the end, she was ready to burn the world down for Montrell.

This series has become one of my favorites. The way the couples are so equally and unconditionally devoted to and in love with each other is so delightful and refreshing. Their love stories embody everything the romance genre stands for. I’ll definitely be exploring more of the author’s catalogue once I’m done reading this series.

OW/OM DRAMA not really OM — Beatrice struggles with horrible abuse from her ex-husband and his abuse (sexual, physical, and mental) is described ||| minor OM — Beatrice kisses a man to see how Montrell will react BUT he encouraged her to do whatever she has to do to heal, even if it’s seeing other men; it doesn’t go beyond a kiss and doesn’t lead to any drama
CHEATING none
THIRD ACT BREAKUP no
ENDING HEA — no epilogue

Broken Worth by Amber Warden is perfect for readers who enjoy:

✓ Dark Mafia Romance
✓ A slow-burning character-driven romance
✓ Forced Marriage
✓ Second Chance Romance
✓ A loyal Cinnamon-roll Hero
✓ Hurt / Comfort
✓ Dual POV

Broken Worth is the third book in the Gentle Sinners series and can be read as a standalone novel. The story follows the journey of Beatrice Lucchese and Montrell Coronella, who rekindle their relationship after five years of separation due to Beatrice's father breaking their marriage contract and selling her hand in marriage to a ruthless mafia boss instead.

Beatrice and Montrell's story starts with a bang, immersing you in a battle for survival and revenge. The author expertly tells their story using glimpses of their past while primarily focusing on the present. Although the later chapters are more action-packed and suspenseful, I was completely absorbed in their journey of healing and growth.

Supported by Montrell's love and patience, Beatrice overcomes the trauma she experienced and allows herself to embrace a fulfilling future with Montrell. Despite everything, Beatrice never loses sight of the powerful and intelligent woman she always was. The sexual tension between them gradually builds as the story progresses, with plenty of wet and steamy moments.

"She kissed him as she laughed. Never in the world would she have considered the biggest argument with her husband would be who got to be sweeter to the other." - Beatrice ✨

Broken Worth is an exceptional story with endearing characters that I couldn't help but get lost in. I eagerly anticipate the next book in the series, Broken Resolve, which will follow Vespa and Antonio's story.

This barely came together. The MMCs best friend is honestly the absolute worst and I saw no redeeming qualities in her. Then they kept talking about what a b*tch the FMC was but I saw none of that? It was weird. It felt like this was a sequel and I had to make sure it wasn’t before continuing to read it 🥴. It wasn’t the plot - it was the characters that made it feel that way. There was NOT enough background info on them, even if they appeared in previous standalones.

Beatrice grows a lot in this story. She was thrown into the lion’s den when after he father cancels her arranged marriage to Montrell and instead marries her to the Albanians. She is put through a lot of abuse, and throughout the story we see how this has impacted her views and reactions. Yet underneath it all, we see a young woman yearning to thrive. She might be a bit numb, closed off and flighty at times, but she is eager to overcome her past hurts and move forward, one step at a time. We see some of her sass shine through, and she has a stellar business acumen.

Montrell is a leader his men look up to. He shows he cares for others and will willingly keep the target on himself if that means his family/followers are safe. He has his trust second hand, Vespa, by his side through thick and thin. He also grew up in an abusive household and these memories often hits his esteem. Even so, he is resourceful, understanding, patient, charming and ruthless.

Montrell and Beatrice get their second chance in this story and we are all for it! While there might be some walls between them at the start, they are also open with each other about things and over the course of the story become more willing to share their vulnerabilities with each other. Montrell always places Beatrice first and as his center, encouraging her to do what she wants and not what she is obligated, pressured, or expected her to do. He wants her to be free. We see he is a very sensitive guy and always trying to make things right. Beatrice herself has a quiet strength that helps Montrell through some of his inner struggles and she gives him confidence and comfort where he lacks. You can really see the strength and solidity of their relationship as the story progresses.

Along with this, we see the return of characters we’ve loved getting to know over the course of this series like Giovanni and Nera, Luka and Alina, and as hinted several times throughout this book and a bit in the prior one, Vespa and Antonio (their book is next and I cannot wait!). Vespa especially we see other sides to and I cannot wait to delve into her past a bit more, seeing as she has had Montrell’s back since day one. I think it’s possible to start here and go back to reas books 1 and 2, but there may be some moments that would be more meaningful if you read those beforehand (which you definitely should be these characters 😍).

Lastly, the book was well paced and kept you on your toes. The author definitely does an excellent job diving deep into these characters, the romance, and edging it was a good dose of action as suspense as we also get to see some kick butt action and impending conflicts with other characters.

Overall, this was an engaging read and I look forward to what’s next.

The story of Montrell and Beatrice will have you hooked from the start. This is is a story of young love torn apart by an uncaring father by marrying his daughter to a ruthless and cruel Albanian mafia leader. Page by page and chapter by chapter, you see their relationship develop, after many years of trauma for Bea, into a loving and secure marriage.

This is a beautiful story that you cannot help but enjoy. Montrell, despite his gruff exterior, is a great big teddy bear with a big heart. Will Bea let down her barriers and trust her husband? I have thoroughly enjoyed the third book the “Gentle Sinners” series and looking forward to the final book

Highly recommended 😊😊

Beatrice (Bea) was an Italian mafia princess, nothing more than a bargaining tool for her family to use to strengthen their position in the underworld. This became clear when Bea’s groom for her arranged marriage was switched at the last minute from Montrell, a man she loved, to an abusive stranger, a man who used and abused her throughout their tumultuous marriage. Her husband was accidentally killed while he was attacking her and she ran, afraid her Albanian in-laws would find and kill her. Montrell and his sidekick Vespa saved her, and she went from a widow to a wife again all in one day because Montrell insisted they marry to protect her. Actually, Montrell still loved her and wanted to right the wrong her father made years before. Years of abuse had taken their toll, and it took a lot for Bea to overcome the trauma. The book went on to describe how she retaliated against those who wronged her and how she settled into married life with Montrell.

The story plot was multi-layered and complicated, just like the characters. The author did an excellent job with character development, creating wonderfully flawed, unique characters that you couldn’t help but cheer for and hope they got their HEA. There were a lot of supporting characters to keep up with, with my favorite being Vespa. She was such a bada$$. Girl power! The author did a fabulous job with world building, bringing to life the mafia families. The story was brutal at times, but it was in context with life in the mafia, with shocking betrayals that occurred. There were lots of twists to keep readers engaged until the end. The story was a steamy, emotional, engaging drama that was full of struggle, angst, regrets, betrayal, and revenge. This book is dark, so heed the trigger warnings. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books from this author.

Part of the Gentle Sinners series each can be read as a standalone with an overprotective man and the women he chooses to protect so make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Beatrice is a sweetheart I want to hug her tell her it will work out she is married off by here father to the Albanians endures so much, one of the strongest having walked away, yet she didn’t allow them to kill the hope that lives inside, she still has dreams, wants, and is presented with a second chance. Montrell sexy as all get out leader fair most times, ruthless, deadly every day, will protect those he considers family, with a background in abuse he learned compassion, forgiveness and he has a second chance with Beatrice even when she denies the contract, he forces her hand out of the need to protect her the only one he knows how through marriage. They work together slowly, he proves to her that she can trust him, that he will keep her safe, he wants her to be free to be her, free to have a choice, but most of all he shows her that she is strong and has always been. When she starts to believe then you see their relationship grow their strength together can’t be matched but where are they headed, we see so much growth in them both, do they grab the second chance fate gave them allowing them to heal each other, and can they have happiness this time around?

So where to start? I really wanted to read this but didn’t want to read the other two books in the series bc I wanted this.

Now that I have read this book I want more and shall be reading the first two while waiting for Antonio and Vespa’s story.

Totally recommend. It was a fun easy read even though it was a mafia romance and had a lot (I meant A LOT) talk about rape and abuse. I don’t know why I’m saying that it’s an easy read but I guess Montrell is very sweet and lovely so those topics didn’t make the book so bad when there was also a lot of joy.

This book is a 5/5

“But why is your rating a 3?” Because the villains and the abusers and rapists are the Albanians. Don’t get me wrong I get that there has to be bad people and all but seriously? The way this book is written makes Albanians seem like horrible creatures while we’re actually super chill and easygoing people. We are known for the mafia maybe but we are not like that. Maybe 50 years ago yes but now no. So yeah I think that the author should have made at least 1 Albanian likeable character to show that the way they are described here is not the way they all are.

I hope in the next book I get to see a little Albanian redemption because these people would only kill to protect.

I liked the book. I had a bit of a hard time identifying with the mfc because although I understand and gave grace to her for all she had been through, and I liked that she wanted to take her life and power back and not be a damsel or a doormat, sometimes she went too far in her interactions with the mmc. He was so understanding and sweet to her throughout everything and although I could understand being wary, she was rude, untrusting and difficult towards him when all he ever did was help her. I especially didn't like her basically SA'ing him at knife point. Like you had this done to you so you feel the best way to get over it and get the upper hand and take back power is not only forcing yourself, which was obvious and who would be able to get in the mood knowing the other person is disgusted at the action, but forcing him as well. That to me was crazy. He attitude towards him most of the book was bad and I wasn't a fan of hers but still rooted for their happiness although the turn around was pretty abrupt. I would have liked a bit more relationship building on her end. Other than that it was a good plot and storyline and I enjoyed the cameos from previous characters. Montrell is born into the arranged union between his Irish mother and the head of the Coronella mafia family; he’s had a deeply troubling childhood. Beatrice was once betrothed to Montrell, but her father broke that pledge and married her off to an Albanian. Beatrice has suffered so much at the hands of her husband and the Albanians, but she is such a survivor. Their story is filled with tenderness and understanding along with roughness and violence.
Montrell can be deadly, when necessary, but he is also a soft-hearted giant teddy bear, and he is perfectly swoon-worthy. 🥰 Bring on his bestie and badass female enforcer, Vespa and Beatrice who eventually becomes his right-hand woman. You get this story that has action, suspense, survival, humor, mafia politics, sexual assault, vengeance, violence, heartache, betrayal, healing, slow burning love (to name a few😉); I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The touch her and die vibes are both compelling and memorable in this book!
I've read a lot of stories with some strong female characters but the women in this series are total badass! I cannot wait to read Vespa and Antonio’s story next! 😍

Great book, although I still not have found my next book husband 😏

If you have been following my reviews, you know I first fell in love with Amber Warden through her book Broken Support, which is actually the 5th one in the Gentle Sinners series...
Ever since I found my book husband in Enzo 🫶, the bar was set very high for the rest of the series, which I have been slowly catching up on.
After the "boys" that were part of the 1st and 2nd book, I am happy to report I finally got swept away by a "man" in this book.

🦺But be warned, read the trigger warnings for this one. If there is one thing I am hesitant towards in my books, it is s*xual *ssault. Yes, it is in the past. Yes, it is not between MCs. But it is mentioned multiple times, so not something you can swipe under the carpet.

My scoring for the series:
1️⃣ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Broken Support (book #5) he kneels for her!
2️⃣ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Broken Worth (book #3)
3️⃣⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Broken Captive (book #2)
4️⃣ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Broken Protector (book #1)

yet to read:
Broken Resolve (book #4)

My favorite quotes:
"You do subtle. I'll do me."

"Fuck, Bea," he groaned, letting his head thump down to the table. "You make me so fucking hard."

"I came here to eat. So tonight I'm feasting on this sweet c*nt of yours."

What it is about:
A sweet, bear of a Mafia man who wants to show his traumatized new wife that she can trust him.

What I loved:
💪both MCs are damaged, but fierce in their survival and protectiveness
⌛his patience with her healing process #swoon
🌶️I learned something new: nipple orgasm 👀

What I struggled with:
🔚In Chapter 1, there is a part where he reflects back on Beatrice living in hell, because of his misjudgment. The purpose was to set the scene for the book, but the way it was written - it came across as we were 85% into a different story (the prequel).

What you need to know:
📚interconnected standalones
🫂dual POV, 3rd person
🔪dark mafia romance
💞loyal cinnamon-roll hero x damaged mafia princess

Beatrice and Montrell

The triggers in this book are pretty serious - marital rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, attempted suicide - to name a view. So know your triggers. Beatrice and Montrell were supposed to marry 5 yrs ago but her father broke the contract and married her off to a cruel and abusive man. Beatrice is broken. After Beatrice accidently kills her husband, Montrell rescues and forces her to marry him to keep her safe. He realizes shortly after that she’s even more broken than he realized. She’s been thru a heckuva lot. He gives her the time and space to heal and trust again.

I love that Beatrice really worked on herself to get better and trust again. And that Montrell was so patient and careful with her. These two are so perfect together. It’s a dual POV, no cheating, a lot of heartache, heartbreak, and revenge but also a lot of hope and love. Past couples make an appearance so you get to see what they’ve been up to. Good plot, good pacing and a nice HEA. On to Vespa’s and Antonio’s story.

I didn't read the first book in the series (yet), but I did read Broken Captive and I was so eager to read this one. Amber Warden has written engaging, complex, and compelling characters to which I easily became attached as the chapters progressed. I was enraged and indignant for Beatrice in this story. The idea of a daughter being used so casually, ignoring her needs or feelings is infuriating, but she managed to maintain her backbone despite the ab*se she suffered and I was just utterly enamored with Montrell's character through the entire book. He's so compassionate and SHOWS how much he cares for people without it seeming like a weakness. The way he lifts up and supports Beatrice is heartwarming indeed. It's a well-written, well-paced book which will most definitely keep you turning pages long past your bed time.

OMG! Wow, I was astounded reading this book it was awesome, the story was mesmerising and the characters were captivating. This story had so many twist and turns I thought I was getting whiplash, there was action, suspense, danger, abuse, Mafia, Albanians, broken bones, struggles, fear, survival, intrigue, conflicts, confusion, strength, courage, betrayal, lies, secrets, and alot more emotions throughout. Montrell Coronella and Beatrice loved each other once until her father arranged for her to marry someone else and her father didn't save her when she had nearly died her husband was cruel, ruthless, violent, Sadist and when she wanted saving her own father would not go against the Albanians. Montrell struggles with the power with the La Cosa Nostra until he does something to get there Loyalty. This was such a page turner, once you start you don't want it to end.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It is the first time I have read the author and I have had a very pleasant impression. I didn't read the previous books but I didn't have any problems with this story, it can be read separately. I love that the FMC is called Beatrice.

The story of Beatrice and Montrell captured my attention completely from the beginning, the author has the ability to make the readers capture the feelings of each character about all the pain, tragedy, frustration, longing and that we live and imagine perfectly the setting, every page and every chapter.

My broken boys, I love the attraction between them, the chemistry, that special connection that goes beyond chemistry.

This story has what I like and that you will surely like too:

Forced Marriage
Dual POV
dark romance
Slow burn

Check the TW before reading the book.
I totally recommend it, thanks to the author for this copy for which I give my honest opinion.

I have no triggers but this book needs trigger warnings

I really enjoyed the writing, plot, characters, everything. There was a lot going on with Beatrice.

Nothing that happened to her was current but everything that could happen to her, did in her time with her first husband. It was jarring.

I have no triggers but I would have been better prepared had I known to expect it.

To the plot - Montrell really loved Bea. Everything he did was catering to her and she only took advantage of it once. He handled it like a boss! She finally came around and I thought it was abrupt but it worked for the story.

I really wish there would have been more torturing of her father and of the Albanian's men. I needed more from that story rather than ALL the things that happened to Bea.

And the sex scenes were well done. I didn't think they were repetitive at all which was kind of surprising. They usually are.

Loved it!

Beatrice and Montrell were all the things! Dark, light, protective, combative. Their love story was a measure of betrayal and endurance and, ultimately, forgiveness…

Their young love was shattered and picking up the pieces meant years of suffering before healing could begin. How Beatrice survived what she did, and came out stronger, and even forgiving, was what made her who she was. Montrell was ashamed of himself, and those around her, that tried to break her. They fought and they found their way back to each other and the telling was a one-sitting read that packed a heart-hurting, stomach-in-your-through, reading punch.

I couldn’t read fast enough and I didn’t want it to end… This series just gets better and better and I can’t wait for more!

*I happily reviewed this story

I loved Beatrice and Montrell’s story! They’re both strong, resilient, and suffered horribly. Amber Warden is an amazing author: she has created a series of books that are so emotional that I can’t help but feel the pain, the passion, and the love each couple works through. Montrell is so patient, kind, and extremely talented in teaching Bea how to love herself and how to reawaken her desire. He’s a giant of a man, with a heart of gold, and he loves Bea any way that makes her happy.

Amber uses characters from the series to build a powerfully poignant family in a world that’s often violent. Betrayal, depravity, and cruelty becomes something to fight against as each couple builds a future. I’m ready to learn Vespa’s secrets next!.

This is the third story in the "Gentle Sinners" series. It is a stand alone read that tells Beatrice and Montrell 's story. It is a story of tragedy, abuse, survival, healing, hope, love and more. This is a heartbreaking and heartwarming story in so many ways. Beatrice was looking forward to her arranged marriage with Montrell but instead was given to the Albanians. She is abused and more. When Montrell, gets a second chance with Beatrice he cherishes it and her. He is not a stranger to abuse and knows just how to care for her. I love the characters! It is a dark and suspenseful story with betrayal, danger, violence, hope, healing and forgiveness. This is a new author for me and I like her writing style and story build. This was a really good story that captivating from beginning to end.

Who would have thought you could shed tears over a Mafia romance? Well, not I. But I did. Shed tears, that is. My heart broke once when Bea was taken from the passion and safety of her promissed husband's arms (before they were able to reach their wedding day). And then again, when she must learn to trust again. When Bea is reunited with Montrell once more and he shows his love and patience as she heals from the abuse suffered at the hands of her cruel husband.

I adored the protection and love and patience Montrell showed his true love. While he fought to control his need for her, you can feel his anger toward the man who took her as his wife first. I loved that he took all the time necessary, and went at Bea's pace to create the marriage they both deserved.

Well done to this author. I look forward to reading more!

Broken Worth is book 3vin the Gentle Sinners series and like the 2 previous books please check the trigger warnings before indulging in this fantastic story. This one is Beatrice and Montrells story and can be a bit hard to take in some places. Beatrice has been through complete and utter h*&*. Beaten, battered and broken she seems hopeless until Montrell. Thankfully he's the one to show she may be a bit bruised but she's definitely not broken and he gives it his all to put her back together. This couple is absolutely beautiful together. Great chemistry but they have a connection that goes far beyond that steamy chemistry we expect in great characters. Broken Worth is an absolutely fantastic story.

Another 5/5

In this story we have the complicated life of Montrell, Vespa & Beatrice. You can't really leave Vespa out because she is always there (except the bedroom that is).

We get current and flashbacks of Montrell's probably worst childhood and it takes Bea to finally reveal just how horrid it was.

The love story between Bea & Montrell is sweet but also giving in space.

The moments together are beautifully written. But I would've liked Bea's final request to be written into the book just to see the delicate and romantic way that Amber would've written that scene to give Bea her final bit of power back.

The strength of the MFC is admirable and the all work through their problems both separately and with the MMC in a bonding way.

Well this is a roller-coaster ride of seeing someone come back from from some heinous acts and the the man that patiently loves her through it and and shows her how to love again and stands beside her as she gets her revenge.
Montreal was patient and everything that Beatrice needed him to be. Their chemistry and scenes together were beautiful to read.
The supporting characters were fabulous to read as well and added a lot to the story.
This was a fabulous read!.

This was my first time reading this author and it is a really written story. it's a redepmtion story i think. The love story that is based for the whole book has a nice background and i find really interesting that a mother is the one who is abussive. I could have done without on page description though.

I loved Vespa. I really want to learn more about her and i do believe there is a niche nich between her, Antonio and the assasin.

Our MC was a hero. How he tried to pleasure our heroin, with all the techniques and patience, how he gives her time to overcome and doesn't let her hurt herself. He is a lovely book boyfriend!

Sooo, come read this mafia story!

Wow, what a ride this novel takes the reader on. From the very first chapter I was hooked and did not want to put this novel down. This novel made me hurt for all that Beatrice and Montrell had suffered at the hands of others. I loved Beatrice's character because of her strength and fortitude to survive and her ability to find her strength and overcome. I loved Beatrice and Montrell together. I loved their chemistry. Mafia novels are one of my favorite genres. This novel kept me on the edge of my seat to discover what was going to happen next. I can't wait to see what this author has coming next.

I loved this story and really loved Montrell! Big caring teddy bear!! First met him in the Broken Captive (book 2 of the series) I didn't think too much about him and thought I wouldn't really like this book...boy was I wrong. First he had a horrible childhood and yet is such a deeply giving and caring person but it is done in a way that is explained and not over the top.

I really love the friendship between him and Vespa and I am now looking forward to book 4 because it is Vespa and Antonio's story. I really hope more books come out in this series because I would like to see how they continue on.

Man, this book has a lot of trigger warnings - DV, sexual assault, unaliving attempt. But weirdly, the main hero, Montrell, is like a golden retriever kind of energy. He has the most green flags ever, you know except for the whole mafia killer thing, but in a wholesome way. This story is about Beatrice, a daughter of a mafia family, married off to an abusive monster of a man. When he dies
"unexpectedly", the man she was supposed to initially marry, is there to rescue her - and kind of force her into marriage for protection. Bea slowly comes back to herself, deals with her trauma and past, learns how to move forward into the future. It has a lot of spice, but a slow burn.

Again Montrell and Bea are absolutely perfect for each other. He is so careful with her. She has so much healing mentally and emotionally that is needed after her Albanian husband. I appreciate the fact that Montrell is comfortable enough in himself to allow Bea the time space and revenge that she needs in her healing. There is a lot of violence in this book but that gives Bea the opportunity to actively participate in what she thinks she needs, the fact that Montrell is able to allow her the time and space that she needs brings her back to him in the end.

Montell and Beatrice were suppose to marry but her father gave her the Albanians instead. For years she suffered abuse at their hands. Once Montrell realized what happened, he went to rescue her. It was a really touching story of how Montrell tried to give her strength in seeing that she was not broken. Beatrice growth and ability to break through her cage was great to read. Both coming from different traumas and coming together to heal each other really made this book.

Montrell and Beatrice. They are both mafia. Shes a princess and hes strugles for power without the pedigree. She has a wonderful night with him before the wedding and then she backs out of the wedding. Hes angry that she betrayed him. And now shes with a cruel and abusive monster. He realizes all too late she didnt betray him and he sees the life she has endured. Theres a lot of action and angst. Loved these charecters. Theres a lot more to the story than I have told so this is a must read.
