In the bandit band of The Wolf, those who failed the test, killing their first man, were executed. Lore was many things, but he wasn't a killer. Waiting for certain death, he snatches at any reprieve, including caring for the Wolf's new captive, a handsome young man. When the captive remains defiant, despite every torture and humiliation the Wolf can devise, Lore discovers first respect for the young man and then another, stronger feeling;love. Death has a hand on both their shoulders, though, and the Wolf is determined to tame the young man to his bed, even if it means breaking him.
