Riveting and powerfully seductive, Angelic is filled with suspense and passion that will leave readers captivated till the very end.

Anyone know when 'Torn' (the 2nd book) is released? I'm gonna go out of my mind waiting for it. This author sure knows how to write cliff hangers. If you don't have patience, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! If you do have patience, YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS BOOK!!! Anyway, back to being serious. This book was beautifuly written. Extremely emotional and intense. The pain Ariel feels throughout this book made me feel as if I was in the current situation she was in. I cried when she was sad, felt tired when she was, felt excited or mad when she was; and was just so into the story, that I felt my self wanting to act it out. I cried when it was sad but couldn't help but laugh at the cheesy punch lines and jokes. L.P. Swalheim truely captured my atention from the start of this book, to the very last page. That's a rare talent. I am really happy L.P. Swalheim had chosen to share with everyone who happens to come across this book. Absolutely and utterly amazing. Wow. I couldn't have asked to read a better book.
WOW! This book blowed me away... The roller coaster of emotions and the traumatic ending... Just WOW! It is definitely a new twist on the usual angel, vamp, paranormal story... I couldn't put it down. The emotions were so intense that it was as if I was feeling them too. The confusing draw that was felt by Liam and Aeriel was something else. Very intense yet, pure... I like the character of Vincent being placed in throughout different points... Great story! Can't wait to read the next one!
This book was a real tear jerker. I can't remember the last time I cried while reading a book but certain aspects of this book did that for me. I pretty much loved everything about this book. The characters were great and well rounded not too perfect but also not obnoxious or annoying. I did predict some of the events, but I'll attribute that to my over active imagination.
Angelic was a good book, easy to read, but definitely upset me. Most of the book was about Ariel's relationship with Liam. I mean like 3/4 of it before it really started to get interesting. It wasn't bad or anything--I'm a sucker for a romance novel, but I was expecting something a little more action but other than the occasional bought of trouble there wasn't much throughout the first bit of the book. If you need a book packed full of a lot of things going on, I don't recommend this book for you.
I will definitely read the next in the series and finish it, because it is a good book. But if there hadn't been an expert into the next book at the end that would've tickled my interest and got me into I would've probably thrown my book into a corner and glared at it from time to time. One thing that really upset me about this book was the ending and then the little expert into the next book. [SPOILER ALERT] I finished reading, and I was very upset that Liam ended up dying. I was obviously aware, of course, they can't kill of Ariel's affinity--her soul mate. It's just not done unless you want a lot of upset readers and a lot that wouldn't continue to read further into the series. I was getting a little worried when Ariel was counseled and the prophecies state that Liam was only needed to set it into motion, and it was her who was going to continue it out. It was an opening to cut Liam from the series definitely, but like I said, it would leave a lot of people upset. The book was left off like that, and then we continue onto the next book with the expert stating clearly she is now involved romantically with Jackson, someone we barely got to meet, and that she hasn't even bothered to visit Liam's grave in a year's time. A year! A year we have been cut off and he's been dead. I was upset that this was happening. She just left behind her soul mate and went to a werewolf and then continues to decide that it's time to move on from Liam. I mean... he's her soul mate, there's no moving on from that. She even takes off her lovelock necklace which I see unnecessarily and then continues on to finally visit his grave and bid him adue. Ariel then goes onto graduation, and is giving her speech, ready to move on completely when Liam shows up.
This opens up a big can o'worms. There will now be a love triangle involving Jackson, Ariel, and Liam. Obviously not much of one, I don't see how you can fight against soul mates... but we'll have to see. Which means another book. I'm not disappointed in this fact, it was a good book like I stated but there were upsetting things and it wasn't up to par with what I typically read. I'm still looking forward to reading the next book and figuring out how it'll all play out. :)

I am so baffled by the ending. I did not once consider this ending and I am horribly upset about it! I went through this book enjoying it and became so mad at the end!!
When I finished this story, I was thoroughly engrossed - despite the Twilight coincidences (my sis-in-law loaned it to me because of the Twilight rip-off, promising it was good for a laugh). I found the characters interesting and the story engaging (though eerily familiar). I had figured out the identity of the mystery stalker long before they did, and they are supposed to be extremely intelligent.
I was, of course annoyed by the ending. For all their strength, fighting abilities, etc. - that sure wound down quickly. And with a crappy ending. I skimmed through the first chapter of the second book, and wasn't surprised to see a cliffhanger. Grrrr.
And then when I really thought about the entire book, I felt more annoyed. And less happy about the overall picture.
If you loved Twilight and want to read a different twist on it, you'll probably enjoy this book. If you want to be amazed that someone else wrote an eerily similar story, but using Angels in addition to Vamps and Werewolves, you might get a kick out of this.
Well I loved this book. I didn't realise it was going to be a series but even better. Although this was a YA book, with many similar traits to the Twilight series, it still dragged me in and made me love it. The characters are great, the story and plot were good and I enjoyed the changes made to some of the supernatural beings which was different to the usual cliche. Ariel and Liam were a beautiful romance and really made you see the emotional bond made when they met. The ending to this book had me crying which I have to say hasn't happened to me before while reading a book. The descriptions and feelings were so powerful that I really had to google 'Torn' the follow up to see when it will be released. If this genre is what you enjoy I would recommend this book and don't be put off by any similarities to other books.
What can I not say about Angelic... there's honestly not one negative drawback. Angelic, the first installment in the series is a full blown five stars. If I could give more I would.
The Angelic Series has been on my top 5 favorites for a long long time. I've read this book a ton of times since it's release in 2012 and it never gets old. L.P Swalhiem did a fantastic job. The story telling was phenomenal. Male authors are usually horrible when having a teenage girl lead. Not L.P Swalhiem; he's got that shit down.
In Angelic, the Prelude starts off with our main heroine, Ariel, in first person and the rest of the story is done in third person. You constantly have access to what other characters are feeling with the third person experience so us as readers are never in the dark. The plot twists just wow!
This book was really pretty good. I had to fight back tears through the last quarter of the book and the teaser for Torn was exactly that- a TEASE!!!
In so many ways this book was absolutely, positively, completely original. In other ways it was not, which was why I'm ranking it with 4 stars. There were some moments that Twilight by Stephanie Meyers just jumped out at me. Little things that were very similar which kinda killed it for me.. But at the same time I'm also a fan of SM.. even if her writing style sometimes reminds me of creepy stalkers and badly formed writing itself.
The badly formed writing was not the issue here, just the similarities between certain parts. I seriously can't wait to read the sequel!
Words can not describe how much i adore this book!!! i can not scream load enough that this book is the book you should read if you LOVE books about romance/ fiction etc. But holy smokes was that a good book!!! Definitely recommend !!!
HOLY FREAKING CRAP!! Literally, I'm crying now. CRYING. Well, L.P. Swalheim, you wrote the first book that made me BURST INTO TEARS. TEARS! I didn't even know that was possible.
I loved Liam & Ariels relationship & totally cried when he died. I give it 4 stars only because Liam died. It's a great book, I can't wait to read Torn.
I promise to be brutally honest with my opinion, but it should not be taken as fact. Any reader should read it for themselves, before they decide if this book has any merit or not. Do not judge this book biased solely on my opinion. If you do, you might miss out on a great read. You never know. It could happen. My review may contain spoilers, but I really strive to be spoiler-free.
1. Strong Main Character/ Female Heroine: Ariel is a bit needy and clingy. She does not try to be strong and live life on her own in the beginning. As time progressed, she got stronger and gained a stubborn streak in her. In the beginning she really annoyed me, but by the end, she had me charmed by her loss and her strength to move on with her life. Although I did read the excerpt to the second book, which I have a different issue with, but I will not include it in this evaluation of the book. She is a little self-centered and love-centered. Even I could see who the bad guy was, but I did not know who he actually really was. You would understand what I mean, if you have read the book. All in all, I liked Ariel and tolerated her. 3 out of 5 stars
2. Strong Main Character / Male Hero: Liam has some chapters of the book from his own point of view, which I very much enjoyed. It was a nice reprieve from Ariel and I learned more about what was actually going on. It is nice to know what other characters are doing in the story and where they fit into it. Liam is a strong loyal character and boyfriend that I was disappointed with the ending. If the author wanted to keep things interesting, they should not do what this one did in the first book. Then, you are basically running off of a different plot that is only thinly connected to the first book. You thought that I would spill a juicy detail, didn’t you? Well, I am happy to disappoint. I hate reading reviews that spoil the book and I try real hard not to spoil it for you, if my review makes you interested enough to actually go read the book yourself. If I do do that, then my work has been worth it. But yes, Liam was a great aspect to the book and my attention was riveted on him and what he would do next. 4 out of 5 stars
3. Strong Main Character / Evil Antagonist: Vincent, Vincent, Vincent. His evil character was SO promising, but he very much disappeared from the beginning of the book, before magically reappearing at the end. He was not such a great evil antagonist. He was gone. Someone was killing a lot of people. Then, he reappeared with his parents. It was all very muted down and all the focus was on the cute couple. 1 out of 5 stars
4. Strong Minor Characters: Lane is a really interesting character, who definitely provides comedic relief for the story. He is the class clown of the little group and enjoys a good time; however, he also knows about the danger that threatens his very existence. Blake is Ariel’s best friend, but she is not really a big part of the story. Lane has a bigger role in the story than she does. Blake pushes Ariel to do things that she never would have done without being pushed, which is a good thing. Blake is not really believable to me. She is just a generic best friend, nothing special about her. There were so many other minor characters that I cannot keep all of their names straight, but I do know that there is a vampire, werewolf, and guardian angel family that decided to live in the town. I do believe that the town is remote and that is why they all moved there, but it seemed a bit extreme that they ALL knew AND liked each other. 3 out of 5 stars
5. The Plot: There was an underlying story to all of the romance, but the sad part is that nothing really picked up until the last quarter of the book when everything came to a head. I personally believe that the book is too long and some parts should be taken out to give this book a faster pace. The romance was an integral part of the story and it took very long to develop and I believe that the author still could have shown that the relationship developed over almost a year without being so long. The plot is not really unique. I have read a lot of stories like this, but if it turns out that Ariel is half angel and half human, a Nephi. Then, I would say that this story would be more unique. 3 out of 5 stars
6. The Setting: One of my most favorite aspects about the book is how descriptive all of the scenes are. You can really imagine anything and everything in this book. The picture is so clear and crisp in my mind. The scenery is really very beautiful and I can tell that the author spent a lot of time absorbing Mother Nature before writing the book. Lord knows that I have spent a lot of time doing this myself for my debut novel. It really makes the descriptions more beautiful, when the scenes are described accurately with natural flora found in the named area. 5 out of 5 stars
7. The Dialogue: The dialogue is a little mature coming from Ariel, at times and I would expect that to come from the angels and vampires than from her. It gets a little stilted and stale at times, but not everyone can write the way teenagers talk, especially when the spelling app keeps trying to correct you. You know you are doing something right when the spelling and grammar app wants to correct you, unless you are really bad at grammar. Then, it would want to correct you as well. 3 out of 5 stars
8. Engaging Surprises: There was only one surprise that happened at the end of the book, which I am very upset about, because it was not a good surprise. It was a sad surprise that causes an emotional response, which I will talk about in #10. There was a lot of predictability in this book that sucked some of the fun out of reading it, but with creating a new world there is a lot of history to cover. I just wish it was done in a lot more surprising way. 2 out of 5 stars
9. Climax: I believe that the epic fight scene near the end of the book would be the climax and it is very exciting and makes the whole book really worth reading. Everything slows down in slow motion and all of the horror hits you in the face about what is happening all around Ariel. It is heart pounding and adrenaline producing just to read about it. I wish that same amount of effort was put into the rest of the book. It would have been an epic book. 4 out of 5 stars
10. Emotional Response: I literally cried after the end of the fight scene an all throughout the rest of the book from thereon out. Tears kept on slipping from my eyes down my cheeks. The ending is very emotional and gripping. I wish the rest of the book was just like it. It caught my attention and I finished the ending all in one sitting. I love it when a book makes me cry. It reflects well on the author that they can actually manipulate other people’s emotions so severely. I wish more scenes in the book gave me an emotional response whether happy, angry, or sad. 4 out of 5 stars
11. Ending: Like I said earlier, I read the ending all in one sitting. It was a bit disappointing for me though. I never expected that to happen to Liam and I bet other readers are just as angry about it as I am. It seems like a crime to do what that author did. It disappointed me and I thought to myself why would I finish the rest of the series? Liam is my favorite character and not having him there would lessen the enjoy ability for me. Ariel seemed to have matured and I hope for my sake that she has. 3 out of 5 stars
12. The Writing: I have to say that the prologue was very uniquely phrased and written. It was a shame that the rest of the book was not written in the same style, but I did enjoy the narrative from the POV of Ariel and Liam. That was a very nice twist to the book. I just wish that I had a little bit more of Liam’s story. Another issue that I had with it was that there were a lot of grammatical mistakes that kept me distanced from the book and the writing made the story a little unbelievable at times. There was too much nonfiction and not a lot of facts that made me distance myself from the story at times, instead of immersing myself in it. The writing was not horrible, but it was only okay and I liked it a little. I just wish it was better edited and looked over before being published as a kindle book. 3 out of 5 stars
13. The Artwork: I am not too crazy about the cover. It seems a little too dark, when the story does not ring that dark to me. I mean, it is dark, but not to the extreme that the cover suggests. 2 out of 5 stars
14. Genre: The novel truly is a paranormal romance through and through. There was great marketing done on this one. The genre rings true and I believe that it will attract a lot of readers, if it was not for the cover.. 4 out of 5 stars
Overall, I give this book 3 stars. It was enjoyable, but it was not the best thing that I have ever read. I would read the second book in the series if it was free, gifted to me, or I won it. I would not really seek it out though. There are other series that I would seek out books to before this one.
This was a very slow read for me. Took me so many chapters to figure it out. I don’t like the way the book is written not sure how to explain it. But I couldn’t figure out who the character was there’s no definitive point of view. It was like a story book reading with you as the reader so you don’t really connect with the characters. It even took me a bit to figure out who the Main characters were. Eventually I liked the story and want to read the next book. A young girl is asked to show a new boy around school and they fall for eachother but there’s something different about him. He’s an angel who’s fallen inlove with Her but someone is trying to keep them apart. Its sweet and leaves you hanging so hopefully next books is better
She falls in love with the brothers not knowing that they were brothers then but falls in deeper love with Liam I my to have him taken away from by the hands of his brother Aka vincent! Then before his death Peters the one he asked to protect her!! I was literally dying from pain when he mother died and then you go and take Liam away also!!! Now I'm so sad mad that I'm not sure I want to go on another rollercoaster but since I'm who I am when reading books I'll be reading Torn today and tomorrow!! Thank you I fell into this book on accident and I'm glad I read it!!
I read a lot of books in this genre and found this one challenging. It seems as though the author is intent on displaying a wide ranging vocabulary instead of detailing the story. The conversations between characters are stilted by this and I didn't feel their relationship fully develop as a result. The premise of the story is similar to others in this genre and I didn't feel it was unique enough to continue reading the series.
I really enjoyed the story and I am pretty sure that Liam is my new book boyfriend! This would have gotten rated 5 from me because of the story, but I rated it lower due to how it was written. I didn't care for the writers writing style.
I really enjoyed reading this book up until first her mom and then her love was taken from Ariel. I cried so much that my kids thought I was going crazy.. Now I’m off to read the next book in this series, because that’s how good these books are...
Couldn't Finish. Made it to 60% and decided to stop. I had a hard time liking and connecting with the main characters. At times Ariel was extremely annoying and immature to the point I had a hard time reading the story. The plot seems like an awesome idea, just couldn't get into it.
