Kiran is a tiger shifter without a past.

Plucked from a hospital by Rohan and Ambar Patel, he has no recollection of arriving in Auckland. Nothing is familiar, but he's sure of one thing -- Rohan Patel is an attractive man. He fires Kiran with longing. A stolen kiss and Kiran knows exactly what he wants.

Rohan's desire for the stranger steals his breath and pushes forward his plans to tell his sister he prefers males. Hurried embraces lead to an understanding, their growing relationship exhilarating. The urgent hunger between them is palpable, guaranteed to make any tiger purr with pleasure.

But weird flashes of memory hint at Kiran's terrible past. The truth might blow apart his blossoming romance with Rohan, and hurt his new Middlemarch friends. It's a dilemma -- push Rohan away or -- hold him close, and place his lover in danger. It's a difficult choice -- and then it's too late. Danger stalks through Middlemarch, and they must fight for their love and -- their lives...

USA Today Bestselling author, Shelley lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband and a rambunctious puppy.

Typical New Zealanders, Shelley and her husband left home for their big OE soon after they married (translation of New Zealand speak - big overseas experience). A year long adventure lengthened to six years of roaming the world. Enduring memories include being almost sat on by a mountain gorilla in Rwanda, lazing on white sandy beaches in India, whale watching in Alaska, searching for leprechauns in Ireland, and dealing with ghosts in an English pub.

While travel is still a big attraction, these days Shelley is most likely found in front of her computer following another love - that of writing stories of romance and adventure. Other interests include watching rugby and rugby league (strictly for research purposes), being walked by the dog, and curling up with a good book.

Rohan and his sister have inherited a grocery store from their parents. A shifter in hospital. Too dangerous. Escape. So gorgeous. Kiran, a tiger with no memory. An attraction so very strong. Could Rohan and he be mates? A move to Middlemarch. A zoo. Terrible dreams. A slave. The bad dreams continue. Lots of blood. Rohan and Kiran getting closer. A job offer for Kiran. India. Trouble. A death. This has to be one of the best M/M books I have ever read. So very well done.

Thoughts:
- Even though I haven't read other books in the series, I did not feel out of the loop. It works fine as a stand alone.
- It appears that the other books from this series are f/m or f/m/m. This story had a slight "chick with dick" feel to it and that may be why. I think it will be fine for most readers, except those who are sensitive to that concern.
- It feels very formulaic which isn't necessarily bad in itself. It's a fine story for when you want an easy read, i.e.; brain candy. Those that don't find themselves enjoying formulaic authors or assembly line series may want to steer clear.
- At times the back and forth about the lack of memory etc... seemed tedious, though I tried to put myself in Kiran's place.
- A little "insta-lovey" though it tried not to be especially for a shifter book. Again, not necessarily a problem, unless a pet peeve. Shifter books are the one genre it makes more sense to me.
- Not sure what the purpose was of Kiran being a white tiger or able to communicate with animals telepathically. But, it was cute especially the others' reactions.
- The mate bond was not fleshed out well. It stated they had a new sense of each other open up / deepen, yet it never really manifested itself; nor did it seem to help them at the climax of the plot.
- It was an average story. I didn't feel overly engrossed nor did I struggle to stay in the story. I thought the storyline was a little above average interesting but not the execution.
- There was one thing I thought set it apart by injecting some realism into it; that sometimes everything is not okay even after the bad guy(s) have been defeated. Yet, it was not really dealt with at least in this story. It does look like it comes up in a future book of the series.

This book has rather an intense and violent plot, especially in the parts describing Kiran's past.
Or Kiran's returning memory and the truth about his life in India and the fact that he wasn't aware for many years he is a weretiger with some special abilites at that.

The development of the relationship between Rohan and Kiran was a bit awkward, each of them was very insecure and doubtfull - one step forward, two steps back throughout the whole book. Kiran's doubts even at the end of the book, argh, I've thought he gained at least some self-confidence.
The description of Kiran, Rohan and Ambar seemed to be incomplete, i.e. I didn't find mention of how old is each the main characters?

I didn't quite understand what was the point of Emily loosing the long-awaited unborn baby for this book?

The ending seemed a little raw or unfinished to me, I assume it means that in the future books we'll meet mentioned in this part of the series characters again (maybe).

I have to add that #9 in this series is written better and has less flaws.

MM shifter romance. Kiran is a tiger shifter without a past. Plucked from a hospital by Rohan and Ambar Patel, he has no recollection of arriving in Auckland, New Zealand. He finds Rohan an attractive man and with a stolen kiss, Kiran knows exactly what he wants. Rohan’s desire for the stranger steals his breath and pushes forward his plans to tell his sister he prefers males. The urgent hunger between them is palpable, guaranteed to make any tiger purr with pleasure. Kiran sees flashes and has nightmares of what he hopes is not his past. They are terrible and he was a slave in every sense and has the scars to prove it. Kiran is worried the past will cause danger to Rohan and he finds it difficult to give his full trust. I loved the siblings, Rohan and Ambar and their joining Middlemarch. Kiran is a wonderful person and his story id heart breaking.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of his book.

I love this series of books and so consequentially have books that I otherwise would have skipped. M/M is not my normal or preferred read but I've never let that stop me. This book I really enjoyed. I loved the playfulness of the characters with witty conversation thrown in from the sidelines from non-central characters. I did, however, find some of the content quite confronting and uncomfortable so I can understand if it's not everyone's choice of read.

I really liked this story. All the characters were so real and interesting that I didn't miss previous books in this series. I'm sure all books are as good as this one. The romance between Rohan and Kiran developed slowly and with time. Even if the wanted to jump their bones every time they glanced at each other, they were careful to wait for the right time. They were great together.

I am in love with the Middlemarch universe! The infusion of new characters and new animals in to the area are keeping this series fresh. I really want to see Sly and Joe mated because that is going to be one special woman. This particular installment had me in tears, much like when I read My Feline Protector (book 6). I was shocked by the turn of events, but happy for Kiran and Rohan.

Forgotten past

Rescued by a brother and sister, Kiran doesn't know who he is or where he came from. Rohan and Amber take him with on their move and he becomes an important part of their life. Trouble is coming from Kiran's past and when it arrives it hurts the people he's come to care about. But instead of anger at him, there is only love and friendship.

Good paranormal m/m romance about an amnesiac tiger shifter who's rescued by two other tiger shifters (brother and sister) and becomes part of their family. But what if his bloody, fragmented dreams are actual memories?

This is my 16th book by Shelle Munro. I have been enjoying the Middlemarch Shifters for over a year. Thank you, Shelley Munro! This book was more intense, in some ways, than some of the previous books but still great.
