Really not that great of a manga series, everything is really crappy with this especially the story but the art keeps it interesting 😴😁👌

Not entirely sure if this is canon but if it is, I'm pleased to see that Amon, who had previously been mentioned in the original Devilman series, is now being detailed. The style of these mangas creates a sense of dramatization of even the smallest of events. The suspense that had been created initially died during the battle of Xenon and Amon.

Update 22 May 2019
To find an accurate rating of the volume, I rated each chapter in the volume:

Chapter One: Three stars.
Chapter Two: Two stars.
Chapter Three: Three stars
Chapter Four: Four stars
Chapter Five: One stars
Chapter Six: Two stars

The cumulative rating of the volume is 2.5 stars. I can recall being bored with the long expositions before the battles, and the positives was the style of the manga, the reintroduction of these minor characters, especially Dosuroku, and Dosuroku's loyalty for Akira. It is hard for me to rate this volume considering there seems to be an equal amount of good and bad. I will keep the rating at three stars because I believe the positives outweigh the negative.

Update
With the adoption of my new rating system, a three star rating is befitting. The original review and rating update conform to the new rating system. I have skimmed through the first volume of "Amon: The Darkside of the Devilman" to remind myself of this volume's content. The justification behind the three star-rating is explained in the update from May 22, 2019. It should be also noted that I enjoyed that nineties feel for the novel; the haircuts, the locations, and the style of the manga as well. This, along with the positives mentioned throughout the review, allow the volume to receive a three star-rating.

Rating Update
Three stars to two stars. I find that the chapter ratings from the update on May 22, 2019, to be incorrect. For this accurate rating of the chapters using the page amounts, I will use the ratings provided on May 22, 2019.

Chapter One (Pages 3-47, 45 pages): Three stars.
Chapter Two (Pages 50-80, 31 pages): Two stars.
Chapter Three (Pages 82-112, 31 pages): Three stars.
Chapter Four (Pages 114-144, 31 pages): Four stars.
Chapter Five (Page 146-177, 32 pages): One star.
Chapter Six (Pages 178-210, 33 pages): Two stars.

The total points is 512, and when divided by the 203 pages, the cumulative rating of all the chapters is 2.52.

I have skimmed the volume and found that chapter one should be lowered to two stars. I believe the reason why I rated chapter one at three stars was because of the Mangakakalot format, where the first nine pages of the chapter (concluding with Miki's head) were then divided from the rest of the chapter by the volume's cover. This was most likely the cause of this higher rating. This is my assumption, although, I do not understand how I missed Mangakakalot's translation on page 46 stating that chapter 1 had ended.

I have lowered the rating of chapter 1, despite the positives mentioned in the original review, because of the strange wandering that Akira does that amounts to nothing special, or to my liking.

The updated ratings would appear as so:

Chapter One (Pages 3-47, 45 pages): Two stars.
Chapter Two (Pages 50-80, 31 pages): Two stars.
Chapter Three (Pages 82-112, 31 pages): Three stars.
Chapter Four (Pages 114-144, 31 pages): Four stars.
Chapter Five (Page 146-177, 32 pages): One star.
Chapter Six (Pages 178-210, 33 pages): Two stars.

The total points is 512, and when divided by the 203 pages, the cumulative rating of all the chapters is 2.30. The chapters appear separated in content and appropriate to be rated individually. The ratings also seem appropriate, despite only skimming the chapters, because seeing the parts I enjoyed require some buildup. Only a proper reread will quench doubt, but a reread is impossible since to reread is to then gather a new feeling that is different from the initial reaction.

*Pages were counted according to the amount of pages containing content for that chapter, excluding chapter title pages.
