The Goddess of Justice and Order... Themis. In her left hand, she holds scales to measure right and wrong. In her right hand, a sword to protect society from evil. And over her eyes, a blindfold for impartiality under the law regardless of one's wealth or status. It symbolises the idea that all people are to be treated equally.
9 strangers, each with a deadly sin in their past, are kidnapped and locked in an old courthouse to face their judgement. Every 12 hours they must vote for one of them to be judged.
This firth volume sees the group come becoming more and more fraught as their numbers dwindle. The shocking discovery of a 10th person and a mysterious message has them more confused than ever. However, the remaining 6, soon to be 5, can see light at the end of the tunnel as 4 are said to survive. With another judgement on it's way, what lengths will they go to to ensure their survival!
Who will they vote for? Will they escape judgement?
This is seriously good and completely gripping. I can't wait to read the final instalment. 5 stars.
Mitä kaiken takana on? Onneksi on viimeinen osa hallussa ja pääsee heti lukemaan, kuinka kaikki päättyy 😅
Summary (for the whole manga): Nine people wake up and find themselves in a building with animal masks on. Each of them have no idea how they ended up there. A stuffed doll then speaks and informs them that they are all in a game called "Judge" and that all of them are here because they committed a sin: pride, greed, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth. At each round of the game, they will have to vote for a person who they think should be punished. At the end of each round, the person with the highest votes will die. At the end, only four people are allowed to leave the game.
Review: I gave this manga a poor rating because of the plot in the last chapter.
After reading this, I honestly couldn't remember what happened in it. Upon review, I do think there were some pretty compelling events in the first three-quarters of this volume. However, my problems with previous volumes still stand: the art is pretty boring, even when it's gory; I don't know much about the characters (and when I do, then they die); and it's both predictable and confusing.
Having said that, if you've gotten this far in the series, you're likely to finish it, so at least you can enjoy this volume as better than the middle ones.
The group is decreased to four after another person is killed.
I really don't like this series. It had an interesting set-up: a bunch of people are forced to judge each other's sins and only four will walk out alive, but there is no judging. We don't even know what everyone's sin is. There's just reality show type manipulation and decisions to off one person with each volume. The twist at the end of this volume picks things up a bit. I will read the next one but only because it's the last and I want some payoff for sticking with this.
Wow wow wow it still keeps me at the edge of my sit! And it manages to be great without needing to have completely crazy plot twists. The plots twists are great but also it manages to give some answers that, even tho they aren't completely unpredictable, they make sense so it is still amazing!
Seconth last book and you need to invent something in a hurry... and honestly said all that wasting time on the kids that are like paper thin and you really need to squish in some drama and have them act stereotypicly...
Just as happened with Doubt, Tonogai abandons all the tension he's built up with the plot and goes into silly slasher mode for the climax of the series. Really, the trial part never lived up to its premise. Aren't these people supposed to be judging each other for their sins? They never do. We never even find out what everyone's sins are. They just kill each other the way contestants on Survivor vote each other off the island. It's all such a waste.
This volume is probably the stand out volume of the series for me. I had been waiting for the cat girl to finally get killed. I know that sounds awful but I didn't like her. And the fact that the pig girl was the one to kill her was awesome. I really liked the pig girl, and it was shocking when she was killed near the end.

I almost forgot the creepy vibe this series gives off. The art of course is good, the story and the suspense especially. Oh and the cover. Another good volume.
