This was a short, sweet and super hot Christmas novella! Two strangers meet on the night before Christmas Eve and end up spending the night together in a remote cabin in the woods. Talking, wine, some major hot sexxin... What's not to like?! ;)

Snowstorm. Woman rear ends soldiers car. They decide (rather stupidly) that the best idea is to trek through the woods. Soldier is a jerk, woman cries, they find a cabin and have sex. Then of course she invites him to have Xmas with her and her 5 year old daughter, because that's what you ask of random strangers with whom you've had a one-night stand.

It was free and there were no typos that I noticed. I realize it's a short story, but there just isn't enough emotion to get me interested.

If you are looking for something short you can read and finish in one sitting this is a great book to read. I normally read full length novels, but sometimes it's nice to read something short and sweet. I originally thought this book was just going to be about a soldier passing through and there wouldn't be any actual story behind it, but there was and it was enjoyable. Meghan met Trent when she bumped into his car where it was parked on the side of the road due to a tree being down in the road, they can't get through so they go off together in the woods to try and find away around, I won't give anything else away, but what you find in this story is a single mother with a five year old daughter Hannah and that her ex boyfriend didn't start and died and a soldier who had come to town on leave to attend his father's funeral. So what you find is a man with no one and a woman looking for love for so long and put them together and its magical. While I did enjoy the ending (since I love my happy endings) I would have loved to see where it the story went beyond the Christmas. Overall cute story, and I look forward to reading other work by this author in the future!

This was an okay story, albeit one with an overuse of adverbs. I tried really hard to ignore them but when the story failed to engage me, it became increasingly (yeah I did that on purpose) hard to do so.

I want to be shown the characters actions and reactions, not told them using silly adverbs.

excitedly, begrudgingly, warily, angrily, appreciatively, sleepily, hastily.....

Location 274 - I said nodding embarrassedly.
Location 573 - I laughed and looked embarrassedly at Trent.
**Seriously is embarrassedly even a word? What does that look like.

I am no writer and appreciate the hours that must go into writing a story, but damn if you are going to take the time to describe every color of clothing a character is wearing, as this book does, take the time to describe the characters actions.

The sex scenes were not erotic to me. How old was the character? In her twenties I think, but she used words like, my bottom, his manhood, he put his mouth where his fingers had just been. Hell call it what it is we are all adults.

My star rating is pretty much for the authors effort.

I devoured this novel in one sitting, not really hard to do but I always enjoy reading about these characters (Meghan) who say they don't do things and end up doing just that and liking it so much they end up with the person (Trent)..So I've given away the plot of this story. I'm so happy that at least Trent has other 'family' now. Parts of this novel reminded me of Nicholas Sparks's 'Dear John', which is one of my favourite novels. It's never healthy to bury a parent, let alone your only parent, on Christmas Eve. Would love to know, why he didn't want her with him at the funeral.

A woman gets stuck behind a tree down on the bridge, during a blizzard and instead of turning around and driving a little further out of her way, she decides to take off on foot without supplies or calling anyone or leaving a note with the car? Since she has lived there her whole life, it might make sense if she knows the area really well, it's a short, well-known path and called first.  Instead she takes off into the blizzard through the woods with a stranger and no clue to get lost. How about just climbing over the tree and staying on the road to walk into town?  This leaves her parents and her 5 year old not knowing.  Yes, there's a romance with the stranger in a cabin in the woods. I can't suspend disbelief long enough to enjoy this one.

A very enjoyable read!

I love HEA stories and this one fit the bill perfectly. You get enough back ground on the characters to make it a perfect book to read.

While on her way to her parents to pick up her daughter, Meghan is stranded in a sudden snowstorm. Fortunately for her, she's not the only one.

Sexy soldier Trent is home on leave to bury his father when he's forced to stop because of a fallen tree blocking the road. He wasn't expecting the attractive lady whose car slide into the back of his jeep.

When Meghan decides to try and walk through the woods in hopes of reaching the other side of town, Trent cannot in good conscience allow her to go by herself. Luckily, they find a cabin nestled in the woods. Huddled around the fire Trent starts, they end up spending a hot night neither will forget.

Will Trent take Meghan up on her offer of spending Christmas Eve with she and her daughter? What about Christmas day? Can this be the beginning of something special for them both?

Although this was a very short story, it was romantic and sweet. There are a couple of hot scenes and two good characters.

A shopping trip turns into a trek into the woods, a night with a strange soldier and a wonderful Christmas surprise. Megan left her daughter with her parents to finish up her Christmas shopping and then on to a special night for the two of them. As she returns to pick up Hannah she finds the bridge blocked by a fallen tree. A jeep is sitting in the road empty, as she brakes to stop, her car gently bumps into the rear end. As she gets out to check the damage she notices a tall handsome soldier walking toward her. Trent has had a pretty bad day and well things sort of go down hill from there. Pick up your copy to find out what that wonderful Christmas surprise turns out to be. Strong story line and a great cast to make for a beautiful story. Very good read!

Sweet story. Liked how Meghan and Trent had a bad start. It had an original beginning but the rest was just ok. I think part of the reason was that it was written in first person and I prefer third person. So several times my mind automatically changed the wording to third person. That also made it seem like a young adult story despite the more mature plot line. Trent was very sweet especially with his brief meeting with Hanna, Meghan’s daughter. At the end, I found the beginning and the ending to be the best parts.

Nothing like an unexpected romance to make your Christmas better!

Meghan was eager to get home to her daughter, when she stopped to help someone on the side of the road.

She had no clue that the person she would meet would turn her world upside down.

Trent was a soldier on leave, and having a bad day. That was until he ended up stranded with a beautiful woman all night.

Gotta love a "love at first sight" romance!

This is short read, but full of so much heart! I wish there was a continuing story! Great read!

How romantic to find a cabin in the woods in the middle of being stuck in a snowstorm? Christmas with a Soldier starts with the couple meeting, being stuck and taking a hike to try to reach town. They go from unfriendly strangers to intimate lovers as two lonely people find each other in this sweet love story. And he likes kids too! This was a sexy and fun short story about Christmas

Not too much to say. Interesting, short, charming, & just plain pretty cool. A 3.5 to be exact. It was a little too short for my taste but still cool. Who wouldn't love a man in uniform even if he did start out being a huge jerk? I did!

Quick read about a woman who finds herself lost in the woods with a soldier. the soldier is rude and hateful, we later find out why, and leaves you wondering how this romance takes off. the story is a little cheesy and rushed.

Short and cute story. I liked how they didn't get off on the right foot. Would have loved to see his POV.
