So it is the climatic post apocalyptic end to the Akasha series and all I can say despite the full star reviews from other critiques is that I think its poor not in terms of the story but the characters in general let it down the most. I wont much into the story because of spoilers.

The story in the nutshell is the final leg of the story where the previous battle at the park went belly up and has plunged the world into am apocolypse and now Kaitlyn travels across enemy territory in a steam ship (I'm not sure what Americans call them. I forget the word)across rivers to her final confrontation with Shawn. Half way there they run into enemy troops blindly though some escape a majority of their party are captured and kaitlyn escpaes herself by blending in with the enemy by stealing part of their uniform. Knowing she would be recognized she cuts her hair and gets tattoos while travelling with Shawns troops to their main HQ while avoiding the head honcho himself. And she becomes a stronger more respectable person readying herself for the final battle. I wont get much into it as I will run out of words

I had no problem with the story. It does drag on during some parts and there are to many sex scenes which are long and awkward and somewhat unnecessary. I don't why Harmony crammed them into the book as filler

A majority of the characters are either Needy, weak minded or rapists that's a reference to the first or second book) which is not a really a neutral view of the Wiccan practitioners though I don't really care for them. The main characters are unnaturally dependant each other especially Kaitlyn for some reason who is periodically bullied into doing things by her friends to do things she doesn't. She was even attacked by Susan who tried to take her baby away from her. I was like what the f*** when I read that part. I know there was a heated debate over parenting but I thought the attack was somewhat out of character. Anyway I'm rambling on. Micah is simply obsessive and controlling of Kaitlyn albeit in a non aggressive way. But what's worst is Kaitlyn gets raped by Shawn and walks it off like it was nothing. I'm not saying it should be a story consuming subject but its usually a traumatic experience that one does not simply laugh off. The fact Micah wasn't really that pissed that Shawn, a man he considered his brother had raped her is weird

I had no respect for Kaitlyn as a woman or as the protagonist until the short time she became Lucy (her alias while with One Less). She is controlled by Micah and she is pushed around by her friends into situations she does not want to be a part of. She was after all ripped from her former life and trusted into their group with not much of a choice. She has to be a part of it because she is a Gaia and no I don't count the scene where the old man makes her pick two boxes by the lake because she would have been killed is she had chosen to leave so I don't really count is as a choice. BUT when she became her alter ego Lucy she became a more independent woman that did what needed to be done and bettered herself without needing constant support from her friends. I wish Lucy was the protagonist instead of Kaitlyn because I known she would not likely be rape or pushed around by douchey self entitled wiccans

anyway that's all I have for not. Don't be afraid to PM with questions and comment on the review

Review also posted at Ja čitam, a ti?

My traveling with this book stared a while ago. I was so happy after I've gotten Water for review and even more after I've enjoyed it so much. So after that I continued receiving these for review and I was really glad for that. Now this traveling has come to and end. As always it's not easy to say goodbye.

It'll be hard to tell you much about the story as I don't want to spoil anything for you. It started like a story about elements and akasha in the process it hosed some great battles and then it ended in chaos. I mean wold was in chaos but the story has gotten the ending. Kaitlyn was someone I connected to in the first book. I hated what some people have done to her and it was hard to read about it. Later she became different and with that we somehow grow apart. I couldn't support some of her decisions and for the right reasons. I was never in her shoes. For the other characters Micah was a perfect guy in many situations and I really liked Alex and Susan. For the record Shawn will always stay on my black-list.

Now after everything that happened before and mostly after the chaos in Fire it's time to end things once for all. Earth started a bit slow for me and it took me time to get to fully enjoy the book. All the search for Micah had it's ups and downs but after that it was on the road I wanted it to be. I liked the conclusion that the story has gotten.

Sorry, but I don't buy it!

This story is just too over the top to be swallowed. It was all I could do to finish it.

The best thing about the series are the beautiful book covers. Too bad the characters and plot cannot measure up.

WHAT?!?!? No, no, no... This series cannot end like this. F*ck! I much I regret reading this book? A lot. Why? I don't even want to talk about that. But I must confess that book two and three were really good ones. But book one and four, God! My hopes were really high for the last book, but when I read the end, those hopes went to hell.

Yes, the book have his really good parts, but... Hell! One thing ruin the whole story/book/series for me. That end. I don't want to spoil you but it was very disapointing.

Let's talk about other things. Funny things. Kaitlyn alter-ego, Lucy, was hilarious. I laughed a lot with her occurences. I laugh much more when Micah ask like, "Is Lucy gay?" LOL I can't stop laughing at that part. I laugh too at Bee's parts, like the "stupid bashterd" thing. Bee is a funny character, even more by being so little. I love her and cried so much at end because of it (I'm not saying that she died, so no, she didn't). Susan and Alex parts are funny too, because they always flushed when they are being caught in "intimate" actions.

Lovely things. Micah and Kaitlyn relationship thing is lovely. They love each other so much that they gave... oops, don't want to spoiler. Other lovely relationship is Kaitlyn and Bee, being mother and daughter, they really look lovely. Alex and Susan too. Susan, Alec and Bee relationship is lovely AND hilarious. So many love in this book, except in the end.

You know what? I did like the book, but not that much, that's why I gave the 3.5 stars. Do I recommend it? If you want to suffer, laugh, suffer, laugh and suffer... go ahead and read it!

So lucky to be able to read this before it is published but also bittersweet at the same time. Fans of this Akasha series will LOVE this final book. Everything that building up in books one through three finally comes to a head in EARTH. Kaitlyn has really come into herself, and Bee is just as adorable as ever. If you love this series as much as I do, be prepared for lots of emotions throughout. Terra had me gasping in shock, laughing my head off, on the edge of my seat in suspense, and a blubbering mess.
If you are new to Terra's writing and the Akasha series, go grab yourself a copy of WATER, find a comfy spot and be prepared to get lost in a great read.
Oh! And how about that cover!!! All four books have had stunning covers! Love it!

This book was my most and least favorite of the series...I always feel that way about the end... but it was so DARK! Kaitlyn goes all G.I. Jane in this book. Infiltrate and destroy. I knew the book wouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows in the end but would have never expected for it to turn out this way... I had always hoped she would burn out her powers and her and Micah would ride off into the sunset with Bee. Fat chance of that happening I know, but a girl can dream right? Anyway All I can say it the very last page brought a tear to my eye. I ray of hope, a bit of love, even if he is just a shade...

Again my disclaimer about the series, contains explicit adult content.

This is a terrible way to end a novel especially after all the gruesome stuff the main character goes through. There is no remorse from the antagonist side and if there is its short lived for us readers. Regret reading the series but the writer seemed lazy and in a rush to finish it. This book fails in comparison to other quick reads that I have read and is a big disappointment. Won't be reading anymore novels from this writer that's for sure

What the... I was sooo not expecting that ending. It was a good book at least someone got a more or less happy ending. Didn't think shawn would've died and where did he end up if micah ended as a shade. At the end shawn wasn't as bad as he seemed. Overall i liked it!!

I really liked this series. This is the final book in the "Akasha" series. It had lots of action and suspense building up to the final battle. I was kind of disappointed in the way it ended.

Thank goodness this series is finally over. I was beginning to think that the end would never come.

Earth is the final book of the Akasha series but, in all honesty, I don’t think that the author had a great plan for this novel (or any type of plan, really). Nothing really happened in this book and it seemed to be hastily thrown together, like it was based on random ideas that never seemed to make a satisfying plot. There was a lot of downtime in Earth: walking, following the river, walking, hunting for food, walking, backtracking, getting lost, walking, etc. That’s what I remember most about the book: all the walking and traveling people did. Everything else is just a blur because it dragged out for so long.

Earth began about a year and a half after Fire ended. We aren’t told anything about what happened during that time. Later in the book, we find out that there were important events and strategies that took place but for some reason, Kaitlyn blocked them out. We are told that Kaitlyn did not remember many things but needed to. Unfortunately, she never finds out and neither do the readers. Plot hole? Did the author forget to tell the readers? Was it just not that important for the author to actually tell the readers what happened? Did the author no longer care to write down what happened?

I think I finally understood why the author was so hell bent on putting Kaitlyn through utter misery in all four books. It was to show the readers that she had huge, glaring flaws and the she could make mistakes just like the rest of us puny humans. This was supposed to make her more relatable and less like a Mary Sue. Unfortunately, the author constantly spoiled that image by how she wrote the plot.

Even though Kaitlyn was severely flawed, positive things seemed to happen miraculously for her and exactly at the right moment she needed them to. Kaitlyn would think about something and suddenly, it would appear (or something similar would appear) and help her out.

The science aspect of whatever was going on really took me out of the book. I had no idea what the author was writing about or what she was trying to get across to the reader. Every time she would put paragraphs about the molecules and the countless of other scientific terms, I would lose the momentum of the story, get glassy eyed and would have to skip those parts. Maybe if the author had some sort of written explanation at the beginning or ending of the book that explained the science behind the magic, it would have made more sense.

Also, the magic didn’t really make much sense. Sometimes people were powerful and could perform strong magic, other times, they were weak. There were times that no one would use their magic to defend themselves. Then at times, spells were spoken along with elemental magic – almost like it was added as an afterthought.

As for the ending, it could have used further explanations. I did not understand the selfishness of the final rock slide and the absence of a male Shade at the very end. I still did not fully understand what the Shades were – if they are only supposed to be the ideas of the people, how are they able to communicate with Kaitlyn? They are not the ghosts or souls of their former living selves. How are they able to think, act and help with future events?

Kaitlyn never really seemed to grow throughout the series. She was whiney, greedy, selfish and too dependent on others. She does not act like a Gaia throughout any of the four books and chooses her own needs over those of the earth. I could not picture her as “Mother Earth” in any aspect and she never showed the “Mother Earth” tendencies or actions that should have been displayed. She was much more concerned with yielding her powers (for good and bad).

Yes, there was that moment at the end where she had to act like Gaia and yield Akasha but then she reverts back to selfish Kaitlyn immediately afterwards. And, if you notice, she acts just like Shawn at the very end when speaking with David.

I give this book two stars. I give the entire series 1.75 stars.

I got a copy for review in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn't wait to start Earth, as this is the last book in the Akasha series and I wanted to know what would happen and how it all would end. I have to say the overall book was just okay and I have some mixed feelings about the ending, but still it was worth the read and for those of you who have read the first 3 books I would say pick up this book.

The story picks up 1.5 year later than where Fire ended, we do get some sense of what happened in that time, but not too many details. The beginning was a bit confusing, not only because of the time jump, but also because the world is really different. It has a bit of a dystopia feel, the world doesn't have electricity anymore and people adapt to live without it. I loved seeing this change in the world, many dystopia books already take place after the change, but here we get how it was before and now how it is after. I loved the dystopia touch to this world and i only wished we got more information about how the world is now, because it was really interesting.

The story is a bit slow paced in this book, I knew there would be an epic showdown at the end, but most of the book it felt like another book in this series and not the last. There wasn't that much build up to the end. I also thought some parts where a bit boring and I was confused a few times because we don't get to know all the thoughts and plans of the main character so some descisions seems pretty sudden or without motivation. I am not sure I really liked where the story took us.

The characters have changed in those 1.5 years. Bee is now a 2 year old and can talk a bit already. Alex and Susan also have changed and their relationship has developed. Kaithlin also changes quite a bit in this book, she makes some difficult descisions and sometimes I thought she was starting to get a bit crazy, she does some pretty crazy things in this book.

Like I said before the world has really changed and although the elemental stuff has stayed the same, the rest of the world is totally different. There was enough explanation about the change, called Daybreak and the consequences, but I still wanted more. I loved how the world had changed and how the people had to adapt and I wanted to read more about it. So i think there could've been a bit more world building.

The ending wasn't like I expected. I expected an epic showdown and while there was an epic showdown it was still different than I expected. Also it isn't a totally happy ending. There were some things that happened at the end that made me wonder what the sense was of some of the things that happened. There are some parts of the ending that are happy and I liked the outlook for the Earth the ending brought us.

To conclude: I liked this book, but didn't enjoy it as much as the earlier books. I liked how the earth has changed and the people adapted, but would've liked more world building. The story was a bit slow paced and Kaithlin was a bit crazy at times. The ending was different than I expected and there were things I liked about it and some things I didn't like about it. Still if you have read the series so far I would recommend also picking up this book.

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author Terra Harmony.)
This is the fourth book in the ‘Akasha’ series, and kicks off where book three ‘Fire’ left off. **Warning – some unavoidable spoilers for the previous three books in this series.**
It’s time for the final showdown. Shawn continues to lead ‘One Less’, Micha is missing, and Kaitlyn must leave her baby and go undercover.
Can Kaitlyn and The Seven thwart Shawn? And what sacrifices will have to be made before the day is saved?

This was an interesting end to this eco-fantasy series.

Our kick-ass heroine Kaitlyn is once again on the rampage, and she’s not afraid of creating waves. If there’s something needs doing, or someone needs to make a sacrifice, Kaitlyn is there doing it, even if it means leaving her baby behind.
Kaitlyn even went so far as to cut her hair, change her name, and get tattoos in this one! I thought that the tattoos might have been a bit drastic, but still, if you’re about to come face to face with the man who kidnapped you, raped you, wants to steal your daughter, and is trying to take over the world, maybe tattoos aren’t overkill.
Bee was once again a sweet kid, but I was a bit shocked that Kaitlyn thought it funny when she repeated a lot of the swear words that the adults were using! If my child kept saying ‘stupid basherd’ I would not be laughing. It was a bit unfortunate really that Bee had to go with them on their quest anyway, especially considering that she couldn’t control her powers, but there wasn’t really much of a choice in the matter, they couldn’t exactly put her in day-care.

There was a lot going on in this story. Kaitlyn and her crew had a lot of ground to cover, and a lot of things to do if they wanted to stop Shawn, but the pace of the story felt a little slow to me. I kept waiting for the fireworks to kick off, but just kept getting more and more sparklers instead. For me the pace needed to be faster to keep the tension and excitement in the story, so this did drag a bit for me.
There were also multiple plans going on at once, which I found a little difficult to keep track of. We had Shawn and his plans (which were multiple), Kaitlyn, Susan, Micha etc. who all seemed to have their own plans and things to do, as well as the plans of other people they met and The Seven. This was a lot of things happening all at once to try and keep track of, and I did get a bit confused at points.
Things all worked out okay in the end though, even if things didn’t end exactly how I had hoped, and there was a sort-of happy ending for Kaitlyn at the end of the day.
Overall; an interesting end to this eco-fantasy series.
6.75 out of 10.

Review of “Earth” by Terra Harmony:

This is an excellent culmination to an exciting and timely series about a young woman who has magic at her disposal and the ecological ramifications of her decisions for the world of the near future.

Kaitlyn is a wonderful, human heroine whose struggles are followed throughout the first three books, “Water”, “Air” and “Fire” and which culminate in “Earth”. The conclusion is anything but predictable … Ms Harmony uniquely wraps up this Eco-Fantasy that speaks to all of the humans of this world and gives much food for thought as to how humankind have brought our world to the brink of disaster.

I highly recommend this series of books.

I dont understand..... This was definitely not how I envisioned the ending. There should be a happily ever after not only for earth but also for all the amazing people in the book. I am a die hard romance fan and in every book, regardless of what genre, I want the couples to have a happily ever after especially with children.

The ending of this book left me so confused and speechless and shocked. I kind of wish I stopped at Book 3 and made up my own ending. The sacrifices in Book 4 was heart breaking, and I just wish they could've had more time.

I still recommend this book even though I do not agree with the ending. 3.25 stars.

Finally! Book 4 was the hardest book of the series to read. Beside being littered with grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors and typos, the story was slow and lagged. I forced myself to complete it just to find out how the series would end. The first three books seemed to have meaningful and entertaining content. This book seemed to be a necessary addition, simply to complete the elements. It was a compilation of convoluted events that seemed to have little purpose to the overall storyline. The last 20% of the book took me days to read.

Shitty ending!!! Everyone wants a happy ending. Felt to me like the writer ran out of ideas and cut the ending short by killing off key players in the story. The ending is also very anti climatic, the writer builds and builds all this tension and then its all like flat and lets kill someone just to end this thing.

Not a bad book. Confusing at times but overall has a good message.

While I would have liked some things to have been better tied up in the end (Bee, what happened really with Sarah, why did Micah really have to die?) this was a good conclusion for the book series. It did take me the longest out of the four to get through, not really sure why, but the last 100 pages or so flew by, which is good.
