Good old fashioned SPACE OPERA by Norman E. Morrison.

Life on the mega conglomerate RYO Corporation ice mining colony on Europa is cool for Muttonhead Rex until he is given the job of downsizing the staff. Permanently! The order comes from the top...down.

In the future, as in the past, the RYO Corporation has its hands into just about everything. This time around the action centers on Europa and RYOCorp's Ice Mining division which supplies gases and water to the other planets for terraforming and such.

The challenge is that due to temporary reverses on earth, the RYOCorp orders the Europaen division to lay off a third of the workforce, immediately. The problem is that the next shuttle is months away.

Muttonhead Rex, beloved yard boss for the company is given the dirty task of following through on the plan, a task he is happy to do, for he's promised a very nice bonus for the work.

So, just exactly how do you go about enticing more than 700 people to walk out an airlock without so much as a muffler or pair of mittens on the frozen and airless moon?

Read the book. Find out. The solution is not only murderously hilarious but closer to the truth of the way things work than you might like to admit. You are going to LOVE it! (I do!)

This is another book in the ongoing Cowchip/AL series. Cowchip/AL is the home of the mysterious and sinister RYO Corporation (Roll Your Own Corporation) that is known world wide, yet unknown. Yes, that sounds cracked, but then, so is the Cowchip series. Sure to be a MUST READ for collectors of excellent science fiction and excellent space opera.
