“All power is borrowed, even ours. Eventually, it too will set as the moon rises.” ~ Samuel Lonary, Beyond the Veil (Character from Ring Binder)

Destiny. Power. Bindings.

All words from my childhood. Fairytales I once believed in, but everyone has to grow-up and live in the real world. At least, that was what I thought before the Iska appeared.

The townspeople thought Gran was crazy. In truth, so did I. Would you believe someone who told you an evil race of beings hunted you, and only you had the power to save the world? Yeah, I didn't believe her either. Then why did I feel so guilty?

Well, the why was easy. Because she'd been right all along. The Iska hunted us both and I led them right to us. But guilt and regret couldn’t change the fact that I'd rejected my destiny, destroying so much.

My only choice was to find out why she left our people, the Mutaní, and uncover the secrets she worked so hard to protect me from. In doing so, her truth would become mine...

My name is Allison, and I am the Ring Binder.

Ranee Dillon is the exceedingly proud mother of four beautiful children. She began writing five years ago in the dusty Mojave Desert, drawing on its ability to create simple beauty in the harshest conditions. She then lived bicoastal, hopping between California and Virginia, until a farm in West Virginia grabbed hold and planted her firmly in its hills.

Ranee spends her days writing short stories, Young Adult Urban Fantasy, and New Adult Urban Fantasy. When she isn't glued to a new story or novel, she coaches other writers to help them through the struggles of writers block, focus their voice and plot, and support them as others have supported her.

I had an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book and just loved it. I'll post a more complete review closer to launch, but suffice it to say Dillon has a way with words and an ability to evoke emotion and tell an engaging story. I love the characters in this book and the story is full of mystery and intrigue, my favorites! Stay tuned for more and definitely add this to your TO READ shelf! :)

I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this great book. It grabbed me in the first few pages and didn't let go. Ranee Dillon creates a new world to dive into, with engaging characters, the struggle for power, action, excitement and of course love. I'm already dying to read the next in the series.

This author has a way of writing lyrically; that is, writing the words in a way that are pleasing to the eyes AND the ears. The story was intriguing, mysterious, and deliciously entertaining. I couldn't wait to read the next page and I really felt the characters. The description was excellent, the dialogue was fantastic, and the plot was genius. This book lacks NOTHING.
