4 - "Best. Secret. Santa. Ever." Stars.

If you like Robin Covington, then you will love this seasonal 'Lunch-time special'.

Friends since college, Nicholas Boone sits back and watches his best friend and business partner Damien get together with the girl of his dreams, because he was too slow out of the blocks.

""I decided to go big..."
"You went huge, baby."

Little does he know, that now single and read to mingle after her split from Damien; Tessa is more than a little interested in him as well...

Secret Santa, has never been so sexy, and although a quick read, it did not lose any of its impact or sexiness because of it.

This was a cute Christmas novella that I got for free as a Goodreads Deal of the Day. I really enjoyed the author’s voice and style. Tessa and Nick have known each other for years and started up a tech business together. Now, eight years later, Tessa is moving on from the company, and while she and Nick are still friends, they both secretly wish for something more, which has been complicated since Tessa has been on/off dating Nick’s best friend. When a Secret Santa begins leaving gifts to the theme of her favorite song, will it finally be true love? This was great for something enjoyable and light to read when you’re in a holiday sort of mood. 4/5 stars.

Tessa and Nicholas have been friends since college. Nick was forced to watch the girl of his dreams date his best friend (and business partner) because he was to slow to make his feelings known. Now Tessa is single and Nick is determined to show her that they are perfect for each other. Nick uses Tessa's favorite Christmas song, Santa Baby, as inspiration for her Secret Santa gifts, with the big reveal being at the office Christmas party.

Secret Santa Baby is a very sweet, QUICK read. This only took me about 15 minutes to finish.

I'm not going to lie, this was a cute story but some of the wording...threw me off and ultimately distracted from the "romance" of the story. I don't want to go into too much detail but, yeah. Maybe this was just not for me.

This is a very short novella but a well formed story and a lovely quick festive read.

Nicholas Boone has been attracted to Tessa Stoneman for years. They shared a kiss whilst in college but she then went out with his best friend, Damien, for a while and he backed off. He set up GameNerdz with that same friend and Tessa works with them there, but she’s about to leave and he’s determined not to let her out of his life, he’s going to woo her by being her Secret Santa and plans a big reveal at the company’s Christmas party. . . . He’s not sure how she’ll react.

Tessa has secretly loved Nick for years, too and she’s not going to leave without at least making Nick aware of her attraction to him, though she’s also worried about spoiling their friendship. Nick is a delightful, somewhat reserved gentleman who really deserves to succeed in finding love with Tessa, who is portrayed as a clever, talented and determined young lady. They make a great couple!

Will the festive spirit help them find their HEA? Will Damien get between them, yet again? You’ll just have to read it yourself to find out!

This is a cute, short festive story and a delightful entertaining read. It won’t take you long to read it and it will certainly help get you in the festive mood by putting a smile on your face. I really enjoyed it and hope there will be a sequel to enable Damien to also find his true love!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.

Secret Santa Baby looked like a really cute friends to lovers romance and that is the reason I decided to pick it up. It was silly of me but I thought that this was a full length book so I was surprised to find out that it was a novella. I don't enjoy novellas as much as I like full length books but still Secret Santa Baby turned out to be a very cute read.

Tessa has been working at GameNerdz with her two friends since she got out of college. When she was young she picked the wrong friend to be with but now that is over and all she wants is Nicholas. I really liked Tessa. She was a nice heroine. She was hesitant to take her friendship forward with Nicholas but she was more than halfway in love with him.

Nicholas has always regretted letting Tessa get away when they were in college. But now Damien and she have been over for a while so he decides to make his move. I found Nicholas to be really charming with his British accent and gentlemanly behaviour. Nicholas is completely in love with Tessa and it was really cute seeing him woo Tessa with his gifts.

Nicholas and Tessa were great together. Though we don't get to see a lot of their past or their friendship it was easy to see that they were perfect for each other. They just had to confess their feelings for each other. Secret Santa Baby was a short and cute read which I liked.

What happens when the one that you call friend begins to hold all of your heart?
Nick knows what it means to be a ‘third wheel’. Watching his business partner date the girl of his dreams was harder than he could imagine. Now Damien is no longer dating Tessa. Something that provides Nick with all kinds of opportunities to hang out with the girl that haunts his dreams.
With the realization of Tessa’s soon-to-be departure from GameNerdz, Nick knows that he must act on his feelings if he has any hope of letting Tessa know just how much she means to him. The idea to be Tessa’s Secret Santa quickly takes root. Leaving Tessa wondering who was clever enough to keep their true identity hidden so well.
What Nick doesn’t know is Tessa’s deepest secret. She has also harbored feelings of more than friendship for the man that is there through thick and thin. Now that the possibility of revealing her affection to Nick is near, Tessa is presented with another ‘problem’ that she could not have predicted. Damien has decided to win her back. Something that is more irritating than flattering.
Will Tessa and Nick ever get their chance to explore a relationship? Does Damien hold Tessa’s heart? Only time will tell what Nick has hidden as he reveals Santa’s bag of gifts!!

Secret Santa Baby is a sweet homage to the holidays. Discovering love in the most unexpected of ways! This clever tale of longing will certainly get you in the spirit with this quirky couple!! Tessa and Nick will warm your heart with their friendship, and leave you smiling at their antics. A wonderful twist on the traditional holiday romance!!

Secret Santa Baby was a delightful short story with the friends-to-lovers trope and Christmas spirit💝🎅.

I snagged this freebie last week and it was the right thing to do since I've been waiting for Robin Covington's next book, Taking on the Billionaire (coming in December), ever since I saw the beautiful cover!

Some of you might know that I'm not a big fan of novellas. First of all, it usually require reading on a screen and yeah, still not a fan. And things usually happen too fast for me to believe in the love story. So the fact I really enjoyed this romance and believed in Tessa and Nick's HEA, even though it was quick and happened in a few chapters, is a testament to the romantic flair of this new-to-me author.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Robin Covington brings on the holiday magic in Secret Santa Baby when best friends finally decide it is time to let the other one know exactly how they feel about the other. Smart, entertaining and completely sexy this was a fun holiday story.

Tessa Stoneman has wanted her best friend and business partner Nicholas Boone since their college days, but the timing wasn't right. She's also worried her on again, off again relationship with their other partner which she ended completely has kept Nick from seeing her because of some bro code. Now that she's severing ties with their company, she's making plans to let Nick know just how she feels but what she doesn't realize is Nick is planning to spread some holiday magic of his own.

I found these two to be so endearing mainly due to the way they've wanted each other for a long time but never acted on it. I loved the way Nick was wooing Tessa even though she didn't know it was him and I appreciated that Tessa went after Nick letting him know she was interested even if they were rudely interrupted.

The heat between them was evident, the feelings sincere and most of all the magic of the holiday made this story even more special. Secret Santa Baby is a perfect story for when you are short on time but need a bit of holiday cheer.

Sometimes you just need a simple and sweet holiday romance, and that, my friends, was exactly what Robin Covington's Secret Santa Baby was.

Secret Santa Baby introduces two long-time best friends and coworkers: Tessa Stoneman and Nicholas Boone. Nicholas Boone has been hiding a big secret all his life: he's head over heels for Tessa. The only problem? Tessa's always been in on-again/off-again relationship with their other best friend over the last few years. Now that Tessa's single this Christmas, though, Nicholas is determined to get the girl.

I pretty sure I oohed and awed during the entirety of this novella. I love grand romantic gestures (and really, who doesn't?!) so to see the extremes Nicholas would go to Tessa's ultimate secret santa warmed my heart. I especially loved the times that Nicholas almost had to confess up. It added the perfect amount of tension to the book to keep me fully interested. I also loved that it was a best friends to lovers trope, as it added a good amount of backstory to make the romance believable given its short length - it takes place over a few days.

As novellas go, the characters in Secret Santa Baby weren't always the most well developed; however, I still liked them quite a bit. I admired Emma's need to strike out on her own and get out of her comfort zone, and as hinted to above, Nicholas was just a downright sweetheart.

In all, Secret Santa Baby is yet another cute, heartwarming novella, and given it's awesome price tag (free!), how can you resist?!

This holiday story from Robin Covington is sexy, short and sweet. Perfect for curling up in front of the Christmas tree after a busy day.

Tessa and Nick had incredible chemistry. I liked that there was just enough of a backstory and conflict for a short story before diving into the heat. If you like hot quickies, you'll love Secret Santa Baby by Robin Covington.

I picked up this book from Amazon and I am voluntarily sharing my review.

This was a pretty short and sweet holiday romance. Very Hallmark but the spicier version, which was funny because they made fun of a Hallmark Christmas movie in the book.

He’s been pining, she dated his ex, and the three of them work together but it’s not super messy. Refreshingly, bro code was not a major source of conflict.

not very good but I wasn't expecting much. It's very short. I never really like stories with love triangles where a character is in love with their SO's best friend or where someone is in love with their best friend's SO.

Tessa has been crushing on her close friend Nicholas since they were at college together but apart from a single kiss he never seemed to have any feelings towards her other than as a friend. She even dated his best friend and business partner Damien but Nick has always had a place in her heart. Now that she is single and is about to leave GameNerdz, the company that Nick and Damien both own, she wonders if this could be her last chance to show Nick how she feels but worries he might reject her. Little does she know that Nick has always loved her but been too afraid to show it. Nick can't imagine life without Tessa and has decided that it's time to finally show her how much she means to him - and he has the perfect idea for a romantic holiday gesture that is sure to get her attention.

I really enjoyed Robin Covington's debut novel A Night of Southern Comfort so when I was offered a review copy of her latest story Secret Santa Baby I jumped at the chance to read it. I love Christmas themed stories and this one has everything I look for in a feel good story; a sweet, sexy and believable romance; characters I can swoon over; and a plot that can make me smile. I've been saying for ages that we need more nerdy heroes and Nick is a perfect example of why, he is so cute and sexy but he just doesn't realise how hot he is. He is also such a romantic and I think he could win over even the most cynical woman with his wooing of Tessa - he could certainly make me swoon. As for Tessa she was a likeable heroine, someone who knows what she wants and is determined to take her chance before it is too late. The only character I wasn't too sure about was Damien but I have a feeling that is because he hasn't found the right woman yet and I'd actually be quite interested in reading his story in the future.

If you're looking for a quick, fun and sexy holiday novella then you can't go wrong with Secret Santa Baby. Robin Covington has a second hit on her hands with this one and I can't wait to read whatever she comes up with next.

Tessa, Nicholas and Damien have been friends for years but it has gotten complicated as time has gone on. Tessa and Damien were in a relationship which ended as Tessa was fed up of the not knowing what they were to each other and the on and off again relationship that they had.
Nicholas or Nick has had feelings for Tessa for a long time, after his missed chance years ago he decided that this Christmas he would take fate into his own hands and make Tessa his once and for all. So he comes up with a plan in the form of Secret Santa as he knows with Tessa leaving the company that he is running on borrowed time.
Although, as soon as Damien catches on to the Secret Santa, he wants another chance to show Tessa how good they are together. Nick is willing to do anything to show Tessa how much she means to him as he doesn't want to miss a chance to show her that Christmas is about getting the things you want and being with the people who love you the most.
I loved this story, with the Secret Santa it made it even more exciting as you are rooting for Nick to get his girl but there are people and situations in his way. My favourite part of the story was the song, if you read the story or have read it then you will know, it is funny, sweet and totally swoon-worthy.
Secret Santa Baby is a sweet, romantic Christmas story about friendship, feelings and about getting the girl. I would recommend everyone to read this story as it will brighten your day and put a smile on your face.
If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would be Christmassy, Romantic and Sweet.

This little holiday novella is a perfect blend of steam and sweetness, with just enough angst thrown in to keep everyone on their toes. I loved the tension between Nick and Tessa, and the little “mystery” of the Secret Santa was a lot of fun, even though we knew very early on who was behind it all.

The Grand Gesture was beautifully romantic, and I absolutely loved the ending.

A perfect little story to read for the holidays, I’d highly recommend this one for any fan of contemporary romance.
