68 books93 followersEnrique Lihn Carrasco was a Chilean poet, playwright, and novelist. The son of Enrique Lihn Doll and María Carrasco Délano, he married Ivette Mingram and they had one daughter: Andrea María Lihn Mingram, an actress.
Born in 1929 at Santiago, Chile, Lihn aspired to be a painter but after a failed attempt during university, he abandoned that dream to pursue writing. Lihn proceeded to develop into a poet, playwright, and novelist. He taught literature at the University of Chile. Lihn views both the past and the future as forms of death, and his emphasis on this point is evident throughout his literary works. His work revolved around his contempt for the contemporary dictatorship, as Chile was governed by a military junta. Works layered with social, political, and religious commentary are common throughout Lihn's canon. His final book, Diario de Muerte was written in the six weeks preceding his death from cancer in Santiago, and the evening before he died, he corrected the proofs.

Estimulante e inspirador. Primer libro que leo de Enrique Lihn y no defraudó, a pesar de ser un escritor relevante que genera expectativas, o bueno, quizás otros provocan eso al hablar de él. Lihn capta detalles que son la esencia de Chile. Al mismo tiempo tiene una poética muy personal y auténtica.
Admiro a los poetas que tienen posición y opinión frente al mundo, que hablan de política con gracia y elegancia sin ser hipócritas.
Me gustaron muchos los poemas "el vaciadero", "del mar espero barcos, peces, olas", "la aparición de la virgen" y "porque escribí". Me gustaron varios más, pero esos los encuentro tremendos.

No me voy a olvidar de seis soledades, cámara de tortura, de porque escribí, torre de babilonia y pieza oscura. es lo primero que leo de Lihn y me gustó mucho, igual hay un par de poemas que fueron algo meh, aunque no tengo muy claro si los terminé de entender XD pero son algo olvidables a mi juicio. Estoy seguro que volvere a leerlo algún día

Un libro que puede servir para comenzar con la poesía de Lihn.

Paseo Ahumada es de mis favoritos de Enrique Lihn, pero los poemas de Diario de Muerte me evocaron una resignación muy ácida. De ahí rescato Hay solo dos países, especialmente los versos finales.
