I love dogs, music, movies, NYC, Hollywood and Brighton. I live with my partner and two dogs in London.

I enjoy celebrity, horror, religious and ancient fiction. By contrast I love feel-good comedies and anything sensational / contemporary fiction.

I enjoy books by Jackie Collins, Stephen King, James Herbert and JK Rowling. My guilty pleasures are the novels by Stephanie Meyer and Katie Price.

I also have a soft spot for historical fiction and anything involving the Tudor dynasty/Henry VIII/Elizabeth I, the Shardlake series by C.J.Sansom a particular favourite.

'Global Superstar' is the story of Ed Harvey, talented singer turned superstar through a reality TV show. Ed has a secret, it's a big one and it's going to come out.

This is a fast paced read with plenty of gasp out loud moments. It's full of surprises, with a plot that twists and turns up until the shocking conclusion. The chapters are short and punchy and this makes it hard to put down!

Fans of the likes of Jackie Collins will adore this book, though it does have an unusual element to it which makes it unique and sets it apart, it is much in the same vein. The sensationalist style combines very well with the subject matter and the plot has been brilliantly thought out for maximum shock factor.

Ed Harvey has it all, Fame, Fortune the lot, But Ed couldn't care less about all that, The only thing Ed cares about is a message....... A message that he has spent years trying to send.
But Ed also has a secret, a secret he wants no one to know about until is best friend, Kaine, is about to die and Ed can prevent this. When Kaine finds out about the 'thing' that saved his life all he sees is $$ but Ed wants no part in it but is blackmailed into helping. Will Ed ever deliver his message? The only way to find out is to join Ed on his journey to becoming a Global Superstar!

The only reason I gave this book 4* and not a 5* was because the first few chapters confused me (I doesn't take a lot, trust me) too much flicking back and forth in time, had to turn back a few times to find out where I was. But that is the only flaw, if you can really call it a flaw. That being said I did love this book. CJ did have me gasping at a few points in the book and one part, which I emailed him about, shocked me........ A LOT!
I enjoyed how it showed that fame can't give you everything in life and at times your life isn't really yours any more. This story is fast paced and has a fab twist. I never imagined the book ending the way it did, well done there CJ. I will look forward to reading more from this Author.

I think my reaction to this can best be described as WTF!! An enjoyable pop culture nightmare of modern obsession with fame and youth, and the lengths people will go to get both. The story centres around Ed Harvey winning the TV talent show 'Global Superstar' and being propelled into international stardom. But Ed holds a secret and the elixir he is required to drink to keep his youthful looks has got his sinister Svengali record company boss curious and desperate to capitalise on it, at the expense of everything - including humanity itself.
His relationship with Danielle, who holds a similar youthful and alluring hold on those who meet her brings further disaster as each battle the consequences of fame and bring tragic consequences to the much publicised birth of their daughter, Destiny Legend.
Part political, part satire, this quick easy-to-read book had me flipping each page with dread and intrigue, wondering how far each of the central characters would they go to achieve their goals. Very far it indeed as it turns out.
