Enjoyable to read and full of useful information. This book has given me a lot of confidence to finally start writing.

Includes exercises to help you understand the points (good exercises, btw, not boring ones!)

Definitely recommend for anyone considering a first crime, thriller or similar project.

There were quite a few errors missed in editing that distracted from the content. The content itself was good.

unfortunately i am a Young Person who hates fun so i did not enjoy this book.

A guide to writing crime fiction.

There were some useful points in this book, but I found the writing / format didn't really grab me.

Reading time around two hours.

Some good tips although there was a lot on writing in general as opposed to writing crime.

This is a great book for beginners. I got it from the public library for an assignment from one of my classes. It gives some good techniques for beginners. Definitely recommend.

The author has "the runs on the board", with her Libertus mosaic-maker series set in Roman Britain, to give advice. Lots of good tips about the mechanics of mystery-writing such as hiding clues, but still hard to pull it all together into a coherent mystery novel that is believable.

I suppose this book is OK, but it didn't speak to me. I didn't like the tone.

"It is often urged that the reader needs a complete picture of all major characters."
