Short bio: UK based, bestselling Indie author of contemporary romance … otherwise known as elegantly filthy erotica. Shoeaholic. Introvert. Prude. Teetotaler. Compulsive Liar ... well, not about the shoes. I never lie about shoes!!

UK bestselling author of the Passion Noire, Rouge Passion and Orion the Hunter series. Not your average romance novelist ... but then, who wants to be average?

I love reading - almost as much as I love writing.. I relish the sheer escapism of losing myself in a book that grips me and takes me on an emotional roller coaster. I regularly mourn the passing of a good book - am I the only one who turns the pages more slowly when you don’t want a great book to end?

I love a good steamy romance and I adore sexy alpha males. I also have more than a passing interest in BDSM (nod, nod … wink, wink). One day, I put pen to paper (well fingers to keyboard, actually) and the Orion the Hunter series was born. Little did I know that, at that moment, I was sewing the seeds of change. For, just a few months later, as a somewhat bewildered Amazon Kindle bestselling Indie author, I quit my career as an education professional to write full time. Scary stuff, I think you’ll agree.

2013 was a very difficult year for me for personal reasons. It taught me how fragile life is and how important it is to grab it with both hands and ride the hell out of it. So in 2014, I began my comeback with the Amazon #1 Bestselling Erotica/Romantic Erotica bestselling series, Rouge Passion. I also met many of my favourite authors and so many lovely readers at my first signing event in Edinburgh. I flipped Stu Reardon’s kilt! Happy days …

I have big plans for 2015. I’m signing at several more author events around the UK and I’m pouring my heart and soul into what I consider my best series yet - by far! Cue Passion Noire, a three part series revolving around La Veuve Noire - a sexual therapist by day and a desirable Domme by night. But fear not, sexy alphas are still on the menu. I mean … this is me!

This book is truly a combination of CrossFire and Fifty Shades!!

You have a sexy mysterious millionaire, a rock band and a 27 yr old woman on a self imposed sex ban. You can't go wrong with this series!!

This book was a quick fun read! Off to re-read the second book!!!

2.5 stars

Issy starts her own company and rents an office space down town she is a twenty something year old girl who still goes out and parties with her best friend / roommate Angel and Angel's boyfriend, Chad who plays the guitar in a local rock band. Issy is in a self-imposed ”sex ban”
”I do not chew men up and spit them out! Just because I enjoy sex but don’t want a relationship … “

Issy runs into a mysterious-sexy-dark haired man in the oddest of times in the building of her office, because of her extreme reaction to him, she is almost sure she has gone mental
”Did you think I was a magician?“
“No, a phantom.”

Issy wasn’t used to the reaction that she was getting from Lucas, and Lucas isn’t used to his reaction to her. Once they try and figure things out, it seems that it’s not going to go anywhere.
”He blames you for disturbing his concentration.“

Episode 1 was all about their sexual tension . This one was a bit off for me, it was a super short read so there wasn’t much we can get into right away, and it looks as though there will be many episodes, plus the vision in my head didn’t jive with how they sounded in my head. They spoke way to proper for their description, Travis was the only one who I can clearly picture. Not sure if I’m gonna continue with the rest of the books.

This is definitely a serial novel. It's not three books, but one broken into three parts. It started a little slow for me. (and I was a tad confused - they sound British - but they are in NYC - I could have missed it - but I thought they were supposed to be American)

I'm not generally a fan of the serial novel style, but the last 30% of this installment was good enough that I'll pick up the next one. I don't feel like we really know Lucas at all, but I'm already fond of Issy. She is pretty kick ass. And their chemistry is smokin'.

It was a good read kinda slow though. It was also very short you can tell after the book was done it really should have had the two as one. I'll give it a reread just to make sure that I didn't miss anything I am pretty hung over so maybe that is why I wasn't all into it... Update to follow...... Okay I reread it and yes, a hang over and reading don't mix well lol not to slow at all but I still stand by the two books should have been one hahaha

This was very different for me. I am rating this somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. I feel that book had so much potential, I was hoping for more, but it fell a little flat for me. I don't want to discourage people from reading this. I did enjoy it. But, I just wanted ...more.

This first book in the series, was just leading up to Issy and Lucas meeting. It's is actually a short story or novella. So this first book is them meeting and leading up to their affair. So having said that, I still wanted more. I felt like....what that's it?! Really? Here's hoping the next book brings it on!

I'm a bit of a loss on how to start this review...

I was completely enthralled by this story, I enjoyed getting to know Issy and Angel. Loved the interactions between all of the band mates with them too....especially the banter between Issy and Travis. I wanted to know more about Issy, there's a tragedy behind her. How did her parents die? Seems like it may have been sudden?

Lucas Hunter...that name, a great name. He oozes sex appeal without even trying. Hell he tries not to! He's attracted to Issy and cannot control his bodies reaction to her, and that pisses him right off. He likes control and consistency in his life. I also want to know more about him, what has happened to him to make him want to ward off all women?

The only down side I had with this book, was the sudden cut off. I haven't gotten to Part 2 just yet, but I think it probably should have been one whole book instead of 2. It's like Part 1 was introductions to characters, getting to know them, watching the "mating dance" and then just when things are progressing between Issy and Lucas that the end. What?? It's actually that only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

I'm going to start Part 2 now..

The was a fun and easy read. It wasn't fantastic but enjoyable all the same. The characters were not truly developed as the book is rather short and will continue onto a second part which I hope will continue to layer the characters' personalities and give them some much needed dimension. The story was nothing really new. It's been done and quite frankly been done much much better, in this particular case the best comparable example would be Bared to You. The main characters in this story are Izzy Prince and Lucas Hunter, interior designer and realty millionaire, hence, the Bared To You Comparison. Still, this story was nice enough. Could benefit from a bit more editing as well as it is plagued with quite a few annoying typos. Will read book two since the ending of book one although not exactly a cliff hanger, does leave off at a very exciting part. Onto book two then.

Let me just start with saying I so loved Issy!! She's a strong minded woman who can have casual one night stands with out all the fuss of a relationship. That's what caught my attention in this story, every other story out there is about the men being the casual one and the woman chasing them. But not Issy she lives her life by her rules until she slams into Lucas (literally slams) and then she just cant stop thinking of him. Is he real or just a figment of her imagination (and what an imagination she has) But when she finally confirms that he's real and oh so sexy she stops at nothing to have him in her bed!! Book 2 The Hunted is a definite must read to continue the hotness of Issy and Lucas.

Excellent book really enjoyed it About Izzy who runs her own /interior designer and she open her own business. She on a man ban and only does one night stands.
The owner of the building Izzy rents is a mysterious man and never seen in public with anyone. Then Izzy accidentally bumps into him on a weekend and she can get him out of her mind. She thinks she see him in the lift but he disappears like a ghost.
When Izzy comes back to her office she finds flowers on her desk and no one know how they got there. Even the conceit not signed for them. ? who sent them and how did they get there
Its very 50 shades of grey. Good but too short a story.well worth the read

I really liked this book.
Lucas Hunter is dark, mysterious, sexy, intense and has a bit of a temper. All things I love in an Alfa male.
Issy is a strong heroine, she's got some backbone which I like but I also like how she gets all goo-goo eyed for Lucas.
I'm curious to see how there story plays out.

The only thing that kinda threw me off was when issy was thinking to herself, she would go from speaking from the 1st person to the 2nd. It just kinda threw me off a bit.

There's a good story brewing here and I'm glad book two is out. I'm all over that now ;)

Worried about this one at the beginning of the book. Once Lucas was "revealed" it picked up - can't wait to see what happens in book 2. Lucas has not worked his way onto my book boyfriends list just yet. Need to see what he has going on.

I enjoy reading because the characters have stories to tell. Words can make or break a story – they can be beautiful or meaningless.

I also love to envisage real life and fantasy and look for this in a story and think what I am reading might actually happen. I love romance and I love dominant, alpha males.

So when a book has been reviewed and has been given 5 stars I have great expectations from what the reviewer says and hope it is as good as they say.
So were my expectations met in J D Chase’s novel, The Hunter (Book 1)? Nope.

The synopsis is misleading to start with. It says that it is perfect for the fans of 50 Shades (that book again) and the Crossfire series. It also says that this new serialized novel begins with a sizzling first episode. So let me make it clear. There is no comparison to either of these books and there was no sizzle.

The storyline was all over the place, there was really no story to tell from these characters and I actually questioned whether I was reading the same book as the other reviewers. J D Chase’s idea of a dominant alpha was certainly not mine. She portrays him as “troubled” He blew hot and cold. There was real potential to develop this into a decent read but for me it didn’t happen. It fell flat.

Issy Prince is an interior designer. She lives in Manhattan with her best friend, Angel. Issy is used to “loving them and leaving them” and only has one night stands. That is until she literally bumps into Lucas Hunter.
Lucas Hunter, a former dominant (Hmmmmmm) and billionaire has been celibate for a number of years. His current love is the gym but that all changes when he “bumps” into Issy and so the story goes………………..

Some of you will like this, and some of you wont. I would suggest that you download a sample first to get an idea of the writing style of J D Chase……………oh and this is not going to be a trilogy. Nope it is going to run into a 4 and 5 book issue.

Maybe by then J D Chase will have delivered the sizzle between Lucas and Issy. It was definitely lacking in this story.

Another billionaire Alpha male you say? YES!!!
I say! But wait....it's not what you think, we'll maybe a little :)

As is the usual recipe for these type of books, I found this one a bit different because the female lead isn't into relationships or commitment--weird huh? But I sense because of her past which is yet to be revealed fully, she suppresses her want of a steady man.

The story was good though! It is a novella and before I knew it I was done :( but it is juicy!!
Izzy or Isobella, new to her own business in the Orion building runs into the reclusive billionaire and owner of the Orion, Lucas Hunter.

Their story is intriguing and actually doesn't get physical till the end and into book two, The Hunted. Lucas is mouth-watering and his torment over his feelings for Izzy is heartfelt. I am devouring this series and can't wait for more!!

DNF at 35% (anthology)
I bought the anthology so I have no idea whether I struggled through more than one part of this series or not.
The story wasn't working for me - he was a millionaire, a recluse and supposedly an alpha male, but just too wishy-washy; begging her to have a relationship with him, agreeing to whatever she wants - that's just not attractive or sexy and really not alpha behaviour imho.
Then there's his job. As well as his office job buying and selling companies and dabbles into high value property development, he also owns a bar and is called in when the bar becomes busy to be a bouncer...then, as if that's not enough, he also manages rock bands. Eh?
I kept going because the chemistry was good and the sex scenes were hot, but the guy just felt like a less likeable combination of Gideon Cross and Jesse Ward.
Sorry but not for me.

Started out well, I liked Issy, she was smart, sexy and knew it. Issy is on a self imposed sex ban, she wants to concentrate on her career and not be distracted by a relationship. She meets Lucas and is instantly attracted to him. I liked this part of the story, where she was trying to fight her attraction to him. Lucas is a mysterious, reclusive, billionaire who is also very attracted to Issy. Why he fought his attraction I'm not sure. The summary indicated he was a former Dom, there is no mention of that in the story. Before they even have a chance to form a relationship, he is invading her privacy and acting jealous. The story ended quickly and I didn't have a chance to dislike it more. Issy and Lucas are very dramatic and extreme in their reactions, felt unrealistic to me.

Warning--this book is part of a serial and it does just stop...so if you're the type that gets pissed off because of this, make sure you've got the next one (which is out) ready to read.

This is the story of Lucas and Issy and this first part of the serial is all about development--character development, relationship development, storyline development. It's written well, piqued my interest in getting to know the characters better and made me want to read more!

This is a serialized novel that is similar to the Bared to You Series and FSOG. I really like the book and the characters, just wish book 1 and 2 were one book together. The main characters releationship does not progress as much as I would like in Book 1.

Could have been good but I'll never know since it seems this was only a quarter of the whole book. $2.99 for a tease. The author should have released the entire novel so readers could have a complete story.

Very easy and short read. Took almost the whole book for the story to take hold. As for the description 'Perfect for fans of Fifty Shades or the Crossfire Series' I would have to disagree.

Spelling errors. British slang in a book set in NYC... With seemingly no connection to England. A bit odd.
