They were ready to call it quits, but Aiden realizes he can’t let his marriage die this Christmas season. Can he make it home to Vivianne in time to save their love?
Vivianne has been so proud her husband—a Navy SEAL—but his absence while serving has put a strain on their marriage. Due to buried hurts and different circumstances in her life, she needs him more than ever now. Aiden proposed in the snow, and Christmas has always been their special time of year. This year, however, looks bleak and lonely. If only Aiden were here, she could share a special surprise.

A nice hard look at trust and faithfulness in a loving relationship where one party is deployed. That part was really well done, but I was a little unsure about the ending. Was it resolved? Can it be, really, if he's going off to war again? So this wasn't a romance the way we typically think. They start off married and troubled and end up married and a little less troubled.
I love books with married couples, and this one did not disappoint. Ms. James has written a touching and emotional second chances story where the plot centers on two characters who are not the standard perfect, but come off as real people with real flaws. If you are looking for a heartwarming Christmas story, this is the book for you.

A romantic story of a Seal member on tour and a wife that is left alone at home, he had an emotional connection with a woman he works with, and she got lonely and found that a neighbour was willing to listen to her.... can they save their marriage, can they build a family. No, because he is on tour, but by a Christmas miracle he might find a way to see her on Christmas, he might... love this for the romance it is. A 4 Salute read for sure.
A lot of emotion in this novella in which a married couple still in love must decide if they want to go on together or separated. In the novella, we don't see very much the heroes together but their thoughts and memories make the book more intense.
I really enjoyed this short story as well as the storyline. I loved the way the SEAL team backed his play so he could do what was so need for his heart & mind. This is perfect for Christmas & a HEA.
An enjoyable short read. A really nice read about the strain and problems that can happen in a marriage when one partner is serving abroad in the armed forces. Trust damaged is hard to regain and lack of clear communication is hard to live with.
Very strong story about military relationships, Our soldiers give their lives to their country but AT WHAT COST? Those very men have families here that love them conditionally but how long can it go on that they can keep things together. Fear of losing their partner. loneliness, emotions run hard it takes strong people too keep it all together. It gets harder each time they deploy. Men are worried about home life, knowing they have a beautiful woman waiting at home is just as hard on them. This emotional story faces some of those problems and one thing they find out is that it is very important to keep communication going, that seems to be the only way to fight for themselves. Loving each other is not enough any more...you still have to fight to keep it all going. one thing is for sure you need to have strong couple filled with God's love to make this work and with BOTH of their determinations put together you can't beat them. They fight hard and love hard and they will win for AMERICA!
This was a properly short read but it definately warmed my heart. Lately i have been a fan of "solider romance" and this is the second one i have delved into and enjoyed. We learn straight away that Aiden & Viviannes marriage is struggling, like really struggling. We learn about the magic of christmas for them, we learn that despite the struggles they both need each other. What follows is Aidens quest to rekindle the relationship they once had and deeply love. This is this first i have read from this author but i really enjoyed the short novella, and i would happily pick up more from this author. It was heartwarming and loving.
I have never read anything by Kristen James but I will definitely be looking into other books by this author. This short story was truly amazing, in my opinion anyway :-). My time to be able to read a story is extremely limited so this story was absolutely perfect. I was able to read it while finishing up the laundry. It may be short but take my word for it, it is so full of content that the reader will be satisfied. Sure, it takes place art Christmas time but it can certainly be read any time of year.
I will most definitely be putting this story on my "to read again"list.
This was a cute story about a couple reconnecting. But, the problem is that Aiden's character wasn't as realistic as he should have been. I have a pet peeve. When writing Military characters, you need to make it more realistic. That's 1 profession I don't like seeing liberties taken with. He would have been in a lot more trouble for going AWOL than was let on. But, that aside, this really is a sweet romance about a married couple finding each other again.
Special Ops Christmas shows the military spirit of our troops when the men in the SEAL team worked together to get home Aiden to save his marriage. This too short story shows how much strain a marriage of military men can experience when a deployment keeps them apart at critical times. The happy ending was just right with the Christmas surprises this couple had for each other.
It was too short to get emotionally involved with the characters, which I realize is a possibility with a short story. Adian and Viv spend almost the whole story apart, I would have liked to see a little more togetherness.
The stuff with Adian's job was just too unbelievable. I doubt his SEAL team members would risk their jobs by trying to help him save his marriage.
This is a short read but a good read. Aiden is a Navy Seal. Vivianne is his wife. He is away on a mission. They are having marital problems and are looking at divorce. Aiden tells his Seal buddies about his home life. They want him to save his marriage so they come up with a plan to get him home to his wife for Christmas. Going home saves his marriage.
Stories about our military always please me. This book covers just how hard it is for those men and women and their families to endure the hardship of separation and the constant danger they are in. To be able to work things out is a blessing that not all get. We need to be there for them and their families.
3 stars for a super short and sweet romance. I love stories about married couples fighting to stay together. This one features a Navy Seal trying to make it back home for Christmas to save his marriage.
who wouldn't want a man to risk his career to be with you on Christmas day? This was a heartwarming story of the events that led to a wonderful Christmas gift between a married couple who felt their marriage had ended.
This was a wonderful Chritmas novella Aiden is Special Ops trying to get home to save his marriage to his wife Vivanne. In the end he makes it home for a special suprise.
I love military romance books. This one did not disappoint. Learning to find that love & trust again after being apart so much is difficult, but not if you are determined to make it work.
