Bókin geymir fimmtán nýjar smásögur sem tengjast allar efnislega – raða sér í svokallaðan sagnasveig – en þær eiga það sammerkt að fjalla um náin samskipti. Höfundur spyr áleitinna spurninga um hjónabandið, ástina, kynlíf, barneignir, lífsstíl og heilbrigði og ekki hvað síst um það að eldast saman.
