Sara, a Human employee, is thrown together with the Lakes in a struggle for their mutual survival. When the trio is joined by Sara's step-brother Ryan, a Were-wolf, the group becomes an unusual family whose love for each other must see them through attacks by marauding Hunters, the schemes of Vampire elders, and the age old prejudices of Wolf Clans and Human factions. They have no idea that fate isn't finished with them yet and, along with the rest of the new world, they will witness the dawn of a new age in evolution. That is, if they can survive it.

Noelle Blakely resides in the Rocky Mountain state of Colorado and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. She lives quietly with a very patient man and a very spoiled little dog.

Clearly her imagination is vivid and her mind is a little warped. She blames books. Some of her favorite Authors are Stephen King, Kate Elliot, Jacqueline Carey, Frank Herbert, and Clive Barker, just to name a few. So, you can see how the warping might occur.

Favourite Line He leaned over and shifted just enough to put his ear on her belly and listen to the babies heartbeats in her womb. Lily stiffened, "Wow you people really have no boundaries."

Just in awe right now. Not only was the book amazing but, it had everything I need in a book and other things that just blew my mind! Destiny is a Vamphyr, really she is the first if her kind. The way she became one is just amazing. I don't like to give to many details,I will just say you need to read this book.
It's heart warming, sexy, and has Vampires, Were's, and some crazy Witches! I was entranced be the book from page 1. The steamy scenes were oh so hot!!

This book was given to me by author for an honest review (LoP)

The story starts with Destiny who happens to be at the bottom of a cave beaten and left for dead, how she gets there we do not know, but as she is healing she reflects back on her memories from her mother Aurora Lake.

Destiny's parents Alex and Aurora lake are Vampire Elders, they have a great life until the night of the Solar storm where everything changes. Everything is destroyed so they pack up what they can and set off to find out what has happened and take their maid Sara and her half brother Ryan, a Werewolf, along.

As vampires Alex and Aurora notice several changes along the way, they can now tolerate the sunlight and they can now reproduce as Aurora becomes pregnant.

As most of the humans before the storm didn't know much about the existence of vampires and were creatures, after, they do and they gain lots of enemies who want them dead.

This is not your usual vampire/werewolf story and it has lots of great twists and turns and leaves you wanting more.

Would definitely recommend this book and can't wait for the next one!!

First I would like to thank the author Noelle Blakely for allowing me to read for review. I have to say I love this book and am looking forward to the continuence of the series. All the main characters are strong, I enjoy that the author took a different approach to telling the story. I like that there are love scenes but not an over abundance of them. I am looking forward to seeing how the story continues for everyone and what it all means for Destiny and what happened to her parents. Good job Noelle Blakely, I am looking forward to the next book.

I believe Cherishing Destiny is very well written and the story line is captivating. I would highly recommend this book to customers that like a very good paranormal drama with some spice thrown in. I find myself wanting more and I can't wait to read what happens next. I hope the next book is published very soon so I can keep up on all of the characters. A note to Noelle Blakely, very good book and I can't wait to buy the next book in the series!

Review from : http://vampireswerewolvesfairiesohmy....
LT'S REVIEW: We find ourselves meeting Destiny at the bottom of a cave; she has been thrown down it and is badly hurt. While waiting to heal she relives the memories of her Vampire mother.
Alex and Aurora are madly in love for hundreds of years, they live in a world were humans know they exist and love to be around them and have built a trust between them all. But one strange day after making love they see a light storm in the sky, it’s not lighting and they later name it a solar storm. The solar storm pretty much destroys the world as we know it. Most people are dead or dying and now vampires are no longer immortal. They are not as strong or as fast as they once were, plus they can now walk in the sun. Their home is destroyed and they need a safe place to live. Guns no longer work or electricity and now there are hunters are taking over the roads and killing all vamps and weres, but up until that day humans were not aware of any other supernatural creatures but vamps. Everyone in Alex and Aurora’s home were killed except for one shy human maid who they took with them to keep her safe. While searching for a safe place to live, Sara’s step brother, Ryan, finds them, he has been in and out of Sara's life for years. Disappearing two years ago after Alex realized while Ryan was working for them that he was a werewolf. Sara had no idea that her brother was a werewolf. Aurora learns the impossible when she was told by Ryan that she is pregnant because before the solar storm vampires could not have children.
Ok, now to tell you what I think of this book. First of all Wow. I love when I read something I haven’t before and it doesn’t remind me of any other stories I have read. Secondly, this had to be the first book where there were some threesomes that didn’t make me want to stop reading. Alex is in Love with his wife and will only make love to her. But that doesn’t mean they can’t to other things together while feeding. There is also another cliff hanger, but you will need to read to find out more, I can't hardly wait to read the rest of the story. We'll leave poor Destiny at the bottom of that cave until then.

Noelle Blakely’s Chasing Destiny introduces readers to Alexander and Aurora Lake, vampire elders whose privileged existence is about to be challenged when the earth is changed by a solar event.

Forced to flee their home, the Auroras only manage to grab a few provisions, but they are wise/lucky enough to grab one essential item: Sara, their nubile young employee who becomes both a food source (she’s human) and the third member of their ménage à trois (she’s hot & bothered).

So, the trio travels around, dodging danger by day and lettin’ the fur fly by night. It’s kind of like what “Three’s Company” might be like if aired today on HBO or Showtime. There’s way more sex than danger—which is what most of us prefer, I wager—but don’t let that fool you; the danger is very real. Still, lines like this made the danger seem very far away at times: “He found her true rosebud nestled in the beautiful flower between her creamy thighs.”

Ol’ Alex discovers rosebuds so often that he must be a master gardener by now (not to mention making Charles Kane jealous as hell), and I admit, if the world’s ever coming to an end … that’s how I want it to end.

Chasing Destiny also features werewolves—they keeps their shirts on, for the most part—and outlaw humans eager to establish a new world order. Framing the story is the tale of Destiny, a new breed of vampire I’m eager to read more about.

As the first book in Blakely’s “A Dangerous Destiny” series, Chasing Destiny establishes a compelling storyline and likeable characters that should please fans of all ages—well, the ones old enough to handle roses without getting their fingers pricked, at least.

Cherishing Destiny starts with Destiny hurt and trapped in an obscure cave, who while she heals her wounds dreams/remembers her mother’s memories.

Aurora and Alex, Vampire Elders who have been in love for more than a thousand years... are one night loving each other when they witness a strange Solar Storm where everything changes.

Sara, the lovely human maid, happens to be near the Elders when the house is destroyed and the world changes. All electronic devices are out of order, streets are covered by fallen trees, and towns are flooded.

The tree of them become close, intimately close, while during the day they find shelter and stay away from deadly hunters, during their nights they love each other.

Ryan, a sexy, strong, kind werewolf, who became my favorite character, is Sara’s half-brother, has a special connection with Destiny, and tries to help and save the day whenever he can.

The book treats the Vampire/Were/Hunter/Witch/Human in a different way, the Vamps and Weres don’t hate each other, both fear the hunters and the big bad Witch, and are known to exist by humans.

It's sharp, elegant, and clever, evenly paced without dragging its feet, and at the same time emotionally intense, contains plenty of steamy scenes that leave you panting.

This book is the first installment of a series and I hope that in the next book I can find out why Destiny is trapped, what happened to her mother, what did the witch has planned, how the lives of new species of vampire continue, how are council politics going and more Ryan!

Note: I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

After the not-so wonderful experience with the previous book I read, I started this book with high hopes, hasn't disappointed. It's one of those books you cannot read at a fast pace, you need to slow down to savor every detail, delight in every scene narrated and slowly make the pictures in your mind of every character portrayed. The supernatural in it is perfect, it took me far away from page one with it's superb descriptions, detailed enough to give me an image without being boring. The characters are so well-outlined, it's easy to have them grow on you.I loved Alex and Aurora, she's so selfless and he's so loving. Sara is a sweet girl too, but she's just a frail human... is she? And Ryan? What's the secret behind Ryan's coming and going? And why is he so obsessed with Destiny? Is Destiny so important, is Destiny the best gift anyone can receive? Can we learn to cherish Destiny through this series? I think Ms. Noelle Blakley can teach us to do so.

Well, where would should I start...This is not your ordinary vampire story. This is the first book of what I hope will be an awesome series. Noelle has taken the vampire story, and she made it different, and it was great. We meet Alex and Aurora, who are vamps and very much in love. We have Ryan, who is a Were. You have Destiny, who is having a memory of her parents, and it seems so real. I enjoyed the story greatly, and it was very different to see vampires have this type of relationship. I can't wait for the next book to see more of Alex Aurora's story but also to get Destiny's story.

I received this book as a R2R from the Lovers of Paranormal Group

Stars: 3

Characters: Destiny ; Aurora ; Alex & Ryan

Overall: This is definitely a new kind of vampire book. It kind of reminds me of the show Revolution, but with way more twists and turns. At times, i did find myself a little confused because i felt that their wasn't enough detail. Also the sex was HOT and based on that alone i would recommend this book. I can't wait to read the next book

Recommend: Yes

3.5 stars: Cherishing Destiny
I received Cherishing Destiny by author Noelle Blakely for free from my Goodreads book club, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. All thoughts and conclusions are mine, all mine.
A new genre of books has emerged in the post-Twilight era, and in this humble reviewer’s opinion it should be called ‘Twilightian’. Or maybe ‘Twi-stopian’. You decide.
I can only assume that this is because Stephenie Meyers’ Twilight saga had such a profound impact on women writers (and women in general), and the urge to try to emulate that genius has spawned this new genre. That’s not a bad thing, because I enjoyed Twilight just like the rest of the masses. While this novel is definitely ‘Twi-stopian’, there are several slight differences.
One thing I really enjoyed was the depth of information regarding the Were clans. That was a fascinating little twist, and it helped to keep my attention throughout the story. This was definitely an extension of the wolf pack storyline, and the writer was able to paint more details around pack life and communal living for the different Were clans.
Another difference is that this story had sex. No PG-rating here, folks. A little gratuitous at times, yes - and it definitely made this novel ‘New Adult’. While I am intrigued to see the role that Sara will play in book 2, at this point she seems to have no other use than to be a playtoy for the vamps.
The story is told primarily in flashbacks through the main character’s shared memories with her mother. Different, and has the potential to be a huge win if book 2 expands on it. I assume that the ‘main’ character Destiny will be featured more prominently in book 2, and the writer leaves a strong desire at the end of book 1 to follow the characters’ journeys into the rest of the series.
This book is a solid 3.5 stars, and is an enjoyable read. I think that there is a need for another pass at editing/revision, but it’s not so much that it’s distracting. Except for the commas. There, are, a, LOT, of, commas,.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my part!

This is a great story with a unique plot and strong characters. This is not like any other regular vampire story. It is truly interesting and a fast-paced that will make you turn the pages at a much faster pace than you usually do!

The suspense thrilled me and the exotic romance grabbed my heart and interest from the first page. I loved the characters very much and really appreciate the writing style of the author, it just added the exact spice the story needed.

The author did justice with all the characters as she gave equal importance to both the vampires and Were(s) and didn't make the story entirely focused on any particular character.

It has many great twists and turns that will make your heart race and you’ll be driven crazy to peek at the last chapters for a quick view at how it ends! (Well I know it’s cheating, but you won’t be able to stop yourself, don’t worry I did the same as well).

The story starts with Destiny (a Vamphyr), lying totally defeated and beaten and the author takes us on the adventure as destiny relives her memories and we get a chance to explore through them. The story gains momentum when the enemies (Hunters) try to hunt the vampires and were(s) as well, a strange solar storm transforms the immortal vampires into mortals and they can bear sun light as well (yeah you heard me right folks!) and they can reproduce too, that’s just awesome right?

Your known vampire concepts are going to change guys and you’re going to howl for more for sure! So grab your copy right now and enjoy a great and unique read and trust me it will truly satisfy your expectations as well.

Cherishing Destiny is about a post apocolyptic time when not just humans but supernatural beings romed the earth, coping with the loss of many and dealing with the trials and tribulations of the ever alterning climate as a result of massive solar flares.

The book started out with a girl in a cave hurt. Not much else is said about this girl and very few chapters mention her in her own pov. The rest of the book mainly focused on the day in a life of two vampires and a human girl who was their companion. The begning was very slow to draw my interest. The way the first few chapters was written made it hard for me to read at first. But after a while I settled in and actually found myself enjoying some of the story. Here's why I gave it three stars.

The writing wasn't consistent, I had a lot of questions later because it seemed like after the half way point random facts were being added to help build the story but it was very sudden in the way that the information was introduced not like a build up for a series. I think the scenes needed to be built up more. There was a lot of jumping around and random droplets of internal dialouge which just didnt fit. Also another thing that pulled me from the story was the language. Sometimes I read dialogue that didn't match with the character. A two year old can barely speak let alone say full sentences like It's okay.

There was also a lot of repetitive wording that pulled me from the story. The author would explain something then explain it again. I get that this is a first book in a series and that it is a first novel. So that said its not a bad first novel.

Cherishing Destiny by Noelle Blakely

Cherishing Destiny begins with Destiny beaten and left for dead. As she heals, she reflects back upon her heritage. When her vampire mother died, she transferred her memories to her daughter, Destiny, a Vamphyr.

On the night of Destiny’s conception, the world was struck by a solar storm of unexpected intensity. As a result, the world and all within it were forever changed. A tsunami eradicated major cities; there was no longer power or running water in most places. Communication signals were a thing of the past.

Mercenary Hunters took over the remnants of the highways, determined to eradicate Vampires and most of the Weres in existence.

Vampires seem to have lost their immortality, but have gained the ability to walk in the sun. They can now also reproduce. Their offspring are called Vamphyr. Destiny was the first Vamphyr to be conceived.

The book is about the struggle for power in a new world of shifting borders, changing ideals, and an altering planet.

While the premise is creative, the book is riddled with grammatical and punctuation errors that distract greatly from the story. These errors continuously jerk the reader from the fictional world decreasing the reading pleasure.

Book provided by the author (via Goodreads’ Lovers of Paranormal for an honest review).

Cherishing Destiny is the story of Destiny who is a Vamphyr who is laying injured in a cave. While she is healing she is remembering how she came to be. Her mother transferred her memories to Destiny when she died. The night of Destiny's conception was the night a solar storm hit earth. As a result of said storm Vampires are now able to walk in the sunlight and reproduce. They offspring are referred to as Vamphyr. The world as they knew it was gone. Tsunamis destroyed cities, earthquakes broke open the earth, and various types of communication were destroyed. After the solar storm mercenary hunters have taken over the human and Were population and are on a hunt to wipe out all vampires.

This book sounded interesting when I first read the synopsis via goodreads, but once I started reading, I had so much trouble getting through it. The main idea of the book is great, I just think that the spelling and grammatical errors took so much away from the story. Also, I noticed that there were several spots within the book that the author meant to reference Alex and she wrote Ryan instead, and I had to go back and re-read several sections and make sure I understood what was going on.

I was given a copy of this book from the author free of cost, for an honest review. I wanted to really like this book, but I frequently had difficulty determining who was speaking to whom, and kept backtracking to reread statements. The story line was sound, and I found the hook with Destiny injured in the cave to be very intriguing, but would have liked to have had more of her in the story, even if it would have required more than one book to accomplish the same end, as there was a significant amount of connected plots that could have been explored to more depth. I like to know about the world my book is in, but this might come in a later novel. I'm afraid I also found the sex scenes almost unnecessary and a little forced. Why is Sara worrying about her attraction to the Lakes instead of how she's going to survive, or just find food, in the wake of a serious natural disaster? No one really seemed concerned, and the story lost quite a bit of its appeal to me. And how did the 'Mother' find out about the pregnancies so soon? And so many? There were strange little bits throughout the story that kept preventing me from really getting involved.

I received this book thru the author for an honest review. OMG this had been the greatest Paranormal book that I have read in a while. I'm hooked and wanting to read the next book as bad as having that first cup of coffee in the morning LOL for real this book has an excellent plot. She really went deep with getting to know the main characters without it being drawn out. You will fall in love with Alex, Ryan, Sara & Aurora along with Destiny as I did. I caught myself being scared, happy and sad for them at different times in the story. I can't wait to have enough money for book two... The world as everyone knew it changed after a Solar Storm and the whole world was changing because of it... I don't want to go to into it because its book & I don't want ruin it for those who haven't read it. If you love Sexy vampires, bdsm/hot sex scenes, weres, witches etc. this book is for you. Grab a copy you won't regret it other than you'll want book two right away lol. Thank you again for letting me read & review your awesome story! :)

There were things I liked about this book, and things I didn't. The story line was wonderful! I enjoyed the suspense and surprises! The sex scenes were also quite good.

The not likes...parts of the story seemed to drag out to where I had to put it down for awhile because it was losing my interest. Some topics are not explained well enough either.

Overall, I would recommend this book. It is a great story, but I can only give it 3 stars in all fairness.

I really enjoyed this book. I am very thankful that the author let me read to review. It is about vampires and werewolves, but it had a different take on werewolves which I thought was pretty clever. I don't want to give away too much about the story, but I will say that I would recommend this book and I am excited about the second one! It has some pretty nice sex scenes in it, but not an overwhelming amount. It's overall an excellent book!

I quite enjoyed this intriguing tale of vampires, a new world order and how even the most unlikely of characters can come together to form a family, and aliance, against those who would seek to destroy them. Laced with erotic scenes and a great plot line, I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something outside the tried and true vampire story.
