If I could give it more than five stars I would! Bash and Olivia... Don't know where to start with these two. There were times I wanted to back hand both of them, and other times I wanted to reach through and give them a big ass hug because it was obvious they needed one.
** hero ** Sebastian Bash Mcdaniel's is one hell of an amazing guy. This isn't your typical, guy saves girl, girl falls for guy, they live happily ever fast... Not at all. Their story is so much more complicated than that. Her psycho boyfriend goes crazy and chokes her and Bash comes to the rescue, not realizing it puts everything he's worked so hard for in jeopardy.
** heroine ** she's a bad ass. She may be a damsel sometimes but she can hold her own and isn't afraid to say what's on her mind, as she find her confidence a little more.
They start off on awkward terms and find their way into "friendship", but it's clear they can't be just friends and their pasts make it hard for them to move on to a future together. When they pass one hurdle and seem like they'll be okay, something else happens and they go back to the place they began with. Bash has a heart of gold and is loyal to a fault, he'll do anything for the people he loves even if it means risking his own life. These two finally make it throughout everything and I was beyond happy!!! Can't wait to plunge into Matt's story!
I enjoyed the start of this series and absolutely loved the last half of it,to the point that I struggled to put it down! I was so attached to the characters.
Bash & Olivia: TRIGGERS: domestic abuse, unsanctioned fights, assault, loan sharks, vandalism. I enjoyed this story. Bash and Olivia meet at a party that she's at with her boyfriend and Bash is working as a bartender. When Bash stops her boyfriend from choking her, a chain of events begin to happen and not good ones. Bash is arrested and Olivia does her best to make things right while the two start to fall for each other. There's drama at every corner and Olivia's now ex boyfriend is the root cause if everything. Bash and Olivia have a chemistry that you can't deny. But can they overcome all odds. I think instead of breaking this up into three individual books, it should've just been one continuous story. Separating it was completely pointless. So if you read each book separately, you're gonna have come cliffhangers. I read the box set when didn't feel like a box set and it all flowed well without saying "book 1, book 2," etc.
I'm glad I didn't read these books separately. I hated the way book one and book two both ended in shitty, unhappy places. As it stands, when the story ends it still feels like a downer because of Matty going to the loan shark in the first place. Nothing was resolved there, and apparently it's going to carry on into Matty's book. No, thank you.
I got this "boxed set" and the second one for free on daily deals. I make it a habit not to read serials in pieces. I'm happy I got both of them, but also happy they were free. I think I'm Reading Fatigued. I need a palate cleanser.
Tropey but fun. Thinks is angrier than it actually is.
Over the top drama, enjoyable. Bash and Olivia are good characters, but I was honestly ready to smack one or both of them for making major decisions without talking to their partner.
At first I couldn't tell what either of these characters were really feeling but about halfway through the book it became clear. Storyline was good, characters well developed, sex was hot. A little bit of danger included in story but it all ends with an HEA.
I love a book with a heroine that had a backbone. Liv is strong willed and smart. Bash was her perfect counterpart. Alpha strong, fierce and loving. I LOVED them together. I enjoyed this story very much and look forward to reading more in this series.
Nice plot and interesting having both POVs. Nice chemistry between the couple - though storyline became a little ludicrous at some point. Not much else to add about it really. Solid 3 stars
It was a good book but the abusive ex was basically forgotten about for the whole book, when the whole premise was about her getting away from him. Then you have the oh-so-wonderful exclamations of love after knowing each other for about a week /sarcasm. Otherwise it wasn't bad
This book had a great storyline and even I like great sex scene but the sex scenes in this story went so long that I found myself scrolling through them. Kept my attention though.
It's been a few years since I read the first two books in this. Ever got the last one. Finally I finished to see how it all ended. Not disappointed at ending.
This book is one drama filled moment after another! They seem to keep having all these problems along the way to their happiness. Well written and easy to read.
Not a swoon you have your feet romantic sloppy story but a real life ain't all made of roses story. Olivia a spoilt little rich girl gets in trouble, Bash a fighter who is scraping by on jobs and struggling to keep his gym open manages to tangle himself in Olivia's trouble, he gets himself into loads of trouble in doing that. I loved both the characters in the Book Olivia reminds me of me (although not at the start when she was weak) but in the end she is strong headed and don't put up with no rubbish! Bash hmmmm well he is hot, so darn hot I wouldn't mind finding his gym ;) highly recommend and am not going back to reading book two x
I "read" Fix You as the box set audio edition, and am very glad that I didn't have to wait between books for the rest of the story! Cliffhangers and I do not get along very well ;)
Overall, I enjoyed Bash and Olivia's story. Book one was especially tense, when Olivia was still dating her future ex (ugh, what a slimeball he turns out to be!) and both she and Bash were trying to resist each other--lots of angsty drama. Pretty much any time her ex was on the page drama was guaranteed--he was an excellent foil for Bash and Olivia's steamy-yet-sweet relationship. We see just enough of Bash's two brothers to make me anxious to read their stories as well, which I'm sure was the plan all along...
I did think that Olivia jumped pretty quickly into her brand new relationship with Bash after just getting out of her previous (disastrous) one, though. She was willing to jump in and help him, even considering selling her car to do so, when he still barely knew him. It felt a bit too soon, all things considered.
I always enjoy when audio versions of dual-POV stories are read by two different narrators, which is what was done in this case. Unfortunately I didn't find the male narrator to be quite up to par with his female counterpart--he was adequate, but not great. (Fortunately there was a teaser sample at the end of the book for Matty's story, and his narrator is both different and much better.) Still, it was an enjoyable listen, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
Rating: 4 stars / B
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Bash has worked hard to finally get his chance at freedom and to get out of the crap hole he's been living in as a fighter. But one night, one girl proves to be more trouble then he expected when he saves an innocent from ebbing abused by her boyfriend.
Liv finally sees what a jerk her BF is and when a sexy stranger steps in to save her, she can't seem to let him go. As their worlds collide and start falling apart, how far will they go to save each other before it all becomes too much?
Bash is probably one of my favorite leading men. He's sexy, brooding, tough and a gentleman. His taking care of Liv even as it seemed to ruin his future made him desirable.
Liv was a strong character and she made sure she could go toe to toe with Bash. She wasn't childish and she stuck by his side while his life went down. And didn't care if he was made of money.
This story was definitely drama filled and kept you wondering how they'd get out of their funk. It was relatable in the sense that money doesn't make a relationship that it's the little things that keep it alive. And how the family all stuck together no matter what, always trying to protect each other was great. Being through tough crap as a kid doesn't always make a family close and I loved how the author portrays that in his story. I can't wait for the other brothers stories.
Three brothers, three lives and loves and the battles to get past their beginnings. Three brothers all in the fight business in one form, from management to the actual ring battles. None have it easy, a life with a mother who has been worse than not there. But one thing they have had each other. Now we get to read their whole story all together.
Each brother fights to finally find love and happiness. For example: Lola and Reid: Their story is full of pain, love, family loyalty, betrayal and just about every other emotion you can imagine. Yet Ms Bell doesn't let the reader wallow. Just when you think it is just too much for our wonderful couple and family, she sneaks in a scene so sweet, so cute you just have to smile and let out a big sigh. Then you are all ready to get through the moments when a HEA or even the brothers' relationship seems almost out of reach.
So thankful I found these series, I LOVE IT. saw a twitter friend suggesting it & I snapped it up 4 my kindle, I figured I would take a huge leap buy the 3 books all together. I love her writing ... such a great story-line ... pulls at your heartstrings. I love a family who stays together, has each others backs ... LOVE that! Bash is an all around good guy, all the McDaniels bros. are ...love this real names 2. Bash teaches Olivia to defend herself against bullies ... every one should know how to defend themselves. Self defense is a must! Protect yourself, oh yeah! There are parts in the story that will make you laugh, make you cry & just feel right with the world. Christine Bell you are a great writer ... now how many others are in this series? ... I gotta go find out. I am thinking there are more than 3?? thank you for this series I will be reading more of her books in the future! AHEM, brother Ben. thumbs up! ( :
