I left Lunar Manor broken, seeking comfort in the hands of Laurel "the Dragon" Hardy, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Gossip. Okay, I may have used him to ease the pain He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named caused by his confession of loving someone else. On New Year's Eve! Granted, he was drunk off his ass, but still! I stay with Larry mainly because the dreams are getting worse. Worse enough to wake me in the middle of the night needing the touch of another to save me from losing my mind.

Unfortunately, the handsome bassist of the uber successful indie rock band, Vicious, is never far from my mind. I thought I was rid of him once and for all only to have him show up at my hotel in London. Luka Visraya's power over me is intense. No matter how far I run, I always end up circling back to him.

If you think my story is just some romance about two lovers getting back together, think again. Little did I know that returning to Luka meant I'd be plunging myself into a world more familiar than I ever thought possible. Trust me when I say I didn't believe it either when the truth finally came out.

So, how should I start this. I loved Savor. LOVED! It is probably my favorite book by Kate Evangelista. Dakota, I love from the start. She has been a favorite of mine. And Luka oh my Luka! I love him with all my heart. So I was waiting for this for a VERY LONG TIME. But sadly, it didn't live up to my expectations. I'm sad by this because not only do I love Dakota and Luka. I adore Kate. But I have to be honest that I didn't like this one as much as I wanted to.

Here's my explanation:

Savor was more of a love story rather than a paranormal one. Having said that, it didn't bother me at all because it was beautifully written and I enjoyed reading it. Not until the later part did it have some paranormal aspects to it. As I was starting Relish, I expected it to finally "have" that paranormal feeling to it. But then again nope. Nada. It was simply the story of Dakota going on tour with the band, having this freaky dreams, resisting Luka's love and being a big pain in the ass. I didn't like Dakota here at all. Which is surprising since I love her in Savor. But here gah, I can't even. She was just frustrating. Annoying. Irritating. She was just a different Dakota here, and I don't know what happened.

And when finally she learned out the truth about her dreams? And who she really is? I think I had a whiplash with it. That was a total turn of events for me. I'm like WHAT? What the hell just happened? It felt like I was reading another story. It felt like I was watching "Once Upon A Time." The similarities was uncanny. It was just......

So that's why it's only a 3 star for me. I just wished that the "alternative world" of Dakota and the gang was given more emphasis in the story. I wish that that part of the story was explored more in detail. Maybe I wouldn't be perplexed as I am right now.

I wanted to like this book, I really did. I LOVED Savor and couldn't wait to get my little hands on Relish but the book just did not live up to my expectations for it. The ending. Holy hell what the crap was that ending about? It was unexpected, unrealistic, rushed and just poorly explained and integrated. It left too many ends untied. I felt like I was reading a different book than the one I started and I wasn't impressed about it.
But it wasn't just the ending. Dakota frustrated the crap out of me. I did not like her. Her inner monologue was basically that of a teenage girl. It was filled with so many 'I shouldn't' but she'd do it anyways and it got old. Fast. She did everything Luka asked and turned into a 2-D character whenever he was around. I'm surprised she never drooled all over her shirt in his presence because everything he did made her 'mouth water'. She was also obsessed with smelling him and his scent.
I debated giving it 3 starts but I just couldn't do it. I didn't like the plot. I hated the ending and the main character just felt flat and like a character that I despise out of a YA novel. I'm sad to say that I just didn't like it.

Noooo. It already ends! T.T I honestly did not expect the twist to be like that. I love how I can easily imagine the world building for this book. But I struggles a bit at the last part where all the things started to make sense. I can't even tell you more since I might spoil it for some of you who haven't read the book yet. I'm a bit sad about that part cause hello, Vicious?! Rock band and all that?! But definitely loved this series. :)

Y luego vino el final: WHAT THE ACTUAL DUCKING FUCK WAS THAT?

What on Earth did I just read?

As soon as I hit the climax, I decided that Relish is such a huge disappointment to me. The book was going so well, but once the revelations hit. . .it went downhill, and fast. Relish didn’t seem like a paranormal book at all until the climax, which is very bad, considering that this book is a paranormal one—or supposedly, anyway.

I like Kate Evangelista’s writing style—it’s solid, it’s entertaining, it’s good. Relish, though, needs to be polished. The world-building sucked, if you considered the book all in all. I was so excited to read this book because I really liked Savor, but then Relish is such a huge let down. This book could be so much more, if only the world-building and twists are placed right.

The ending was rushed, considering all the paranormal things happened (and was revealed) there. I understand the twist, but it didn’t do the story justice. I got the impression that this book is two different stories forced into one, and not in a good way. It was pretty good until the last 60 pages, from where the story went from confusing to completely bizarre.

I’m very disappointed with this book. I hope there are no more books like this from Kate Evangelista, because I really like the way she writes. She just needs practice in world-building when it comes to paranormal stories.

Luka and Dakota Together At Last

I have been waiting for this book forever.

You have to read Savor first, so get it now. This story picks up where that one leaves off; after Luka was an idiot. Dakota tried to move on, but that's hard to do when you love a guy like Luka. Luckily for us, he couldn't move on either. That's the first half of the story. Kate likes to give her readers a surprise in her stories, which I forgot about. Don't read the last chapter first, like me, or you'll spoil it. If you love fairy tales, you will enjoy the ending.

I so wish there was more. I love it when all the characters get their 'Happily Ever Afters.' Dray needs someone to love him too.

Well… I guess I should start, but I do not even know how! Especially if I even forgot to put my opening sentence here. First impression of the book without opening it: wow, that cover is fantastic! Second impression while reading: Freaking hell! Can it get more intense? And my last impression after finishing: what the hell did just happen? How did we get from here to there? And well I was thinking about it so much that I couldn’t fall asleep, though I did do some work on my project and contently passes out with my laptop. Hopefully I at least put the alarm, so I didn’t sleep off on my morning lecture.

But let me get back to the book, first of all, and will just to make sure you have read the first book in Series – Savor, right? If not I think there re paperbacks in stock, and there should be an ebook too. You might have a small problem with Relish as when I was buying it, it was nearly out of stock. If interested you can read the review of Savor on my blog. But let me finally get to hat I wanted to tell you about this book. Simply put it’s fantastic! Before starting it I reread Savor, as it was quote a long time ago that I read it. Therefore, when I started reading Relish I was double excited to get the answers. Right after starting the book I got a bit confused with the timeline. As a bit too much time has passed between the books. I was on edge every time, as Kate has built the tension so well the bomb aka the truth got dumped on me full time 5 or 6 chapters near the end. Yes, I was actually thinking that I imagined paranormal stuff, as there were no real signs of anyone using their powers. But well, in the end I got what I wanted, even more so. I didn’t really like the motif of the so-called villain. It was too petty. The story deserved more, but the whole idea of alternation? It blew my mind. If all possible outcomes, this one never came to my mind. They were similar, in the magic aspect but never at that scale! The character that I thought were already fully developed in the first book, show us even more feelings and fully shock you with their decisions as well as declarations. In contrary to the first book, which was in some parts about Vicious, Relish is solely focused on Dakota and Lucas. We get to see the band not that often and always together. I liked the changed in Lucas, but still I loved his old self minus being a jackass. But even that suited hi a lot. We get to see him change a lot, and become more the person he was in the past.

I want to talk more about this book, but I’m afraid I will spoil something major that the series was building up. And I do not want you to have that feeling: “when’s that going to happen?” while reading it/ you have to make it some naturally, otherwise you’ll be confused as hell. Do not forget that this novel is 18+ at some points, and those points were highly appreciated by me while reading/ the only question hat I’m left wondering is if at the end which Dakora was she, meaning her appearance. I guess, I’ll need to reread the book sometime after and understand it. Before I forget I’ll be soon reviewing Taste, and so far I think the book has nothing in common to this series, except the names of the characters/ but I do need to read the book first. I hope you’ll get your copy soon! Enjoy it to its fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga. Happy reading!

XOXO

2 stars..but keep  in mind 3 things:

One, I didn't read the synopsis...well okay I probably skimmed it, but forgot all about it when I actually started this one...I had no idea what I was getting in to.
Two, I didn't read the first book in this series. Not sure if this would've effected anything because of three, the whole  book ( well 99% of it) is from the heroine's pov...this is a personal gripe of mine....reading is  my escape of choice....I've said this before and I'll say it again...I spend far too much time irl trying to figure out what's going inside guys' heads, to want to do it in my escape as well...occasionally only one pov works...here, IMO, it didn't. Not knowing what was going on in the Hero's head, made it hard to believe anything he said.

Having said all that,I feel like I should mention the ending of this book was very weird...it started as some NA rock star story, and turned into some PAra/fantasy  read....it felt like two different books for a while there...like I'd started reading one and it morphed into another....very, very strange.

However, despite thinking this boom only rated an ' okay', I do think Ms Evangelista has talent, so I will (maybe )more than likely give her another try.

I'm really excited to read this book because the end of Savor was a real cliffhanger. I want to know Dakota's past already. The first parts of the book was a bit off for me because of the repetitive dreams of running and rituals which I know are essential to the plot, but still. The dreams of Dakota about Luka was really fun though. I kinda had a hint that it really was him. I love the part when Luka gets jealous and when he finally confessed his feelings I was having butterflies in my stomach too. Most of the paranormal parts happened in the latter part of the book and I also didn't expect that ending. But I found their childhood real cute. ♡♡

Relish

Relish... book 2 of A Vicious Feast.. continuation of Savor...
As the story continues, Dakota will discover things that will definitely change her life and everything she knew.
Many things will be revealed, the reason behind her dreams and who she really is.
The way the story ended is good.
Loved it.. can't wait to see what will happen next to Vicious Feast!

Perfect. I could feel her anguish and indecision and pure despondency. My heart ached for Dakota. This book completed her journey in a way I did not see coming, and I am so glad for that. So many books are predictable and unworthy of being read (or even told) This is not one of those. READ THIS SERIES. You will not regret it.
