The Billionaire's Wife #1-9

The Billionaire's Wife: The Complete Series

Rate this book
Starving artist Felicia Dare hates rich men. As far as she's concerned, they're all absent, philandering jerks who care more about money than people. And she should know. Her own father is a millionaire.

Or was. When he shows up on her doorstep and tells her he blew the GDP of Africa on bad investments and failed businesses, Felicia knows he's getting what he deserves. Except that's not all: her mother is sick, and he can't afford the payments for her treatments. He has a backer to save his company, but there's one catch: Felicia must marry him!

A modern woman, Felicia balks at the implication that her hand can be bought, and she sets out to give this backer a piece of her mind. But there's more to Anton Waters than money and power, and when they come face to face, Felicia realizes that saying no to his proposal may be harder than she thought!

This bargain-priced bundle is the complete collection of The Billionaire's Wife series, 77,000 words of drama, romance, and red hot BDSM sex!

I've come to adore Ava Lore... She creates highly erotic stories with laugh out loud moments, strong smart (usually artist) female characters, and complex male characters who are more interesting than their copious skills in bed.

“My limbs were noodles and I could only passively observe what was happening to me, as though I had been drugged. Perhaps I had. By sex. Maybe Anton had a cock that squirted heroin. A magical cock.”
I had already devoured her The Billionaire's Muse series, so I was excited to pick this up. She did not disappoint.

This author had the potential to put out a very good book. All the elements where there but they did not quite gel for me.

*It was originally released as a serial buy-by-the-chapter book. I hate those and waited to read this until it was released as a bundle.

*I think the serial format made it more difficult to fully develop the characters. I wanted more depth, but I could tell where each serial part started and stopped and I felt the author was constrained by the short format of each section.

*The writing was well developed, and the editing errors (like the misspelling of the heroine's name!) were minor.

Nope, Nope, Nope

This was not for me as you can read from the progress comments. There was so much to this book I did not like and thinking on it, I could have handled some if not most IF IF IF there had been some kind of connection between the two 'heroes' (and I use that lightly), but there was nothing. There should be trust first and foremost in a BDSM relationship as well as rules and limits that both parties agree to before ANYTHING is started. But the marriage contract, while it did specify some things She did not truly understand what she was getting into and was basically forced into the marriage by 2 males who were lying through their teeth.

So again there was NO trust (from my perspective, the female seamed to think she trusted him), there was no respect. While there was not a true instance of rape, he did ALLOW her to say no (how nice of him), she only did it once (which was nice to see) but only to see if she could have that power not because she didn't want to do what he wanted.

Reading the other comments people seamed to like the ending/ 'twist' but it held NO redeeming factor for me in this book. And we still never learn why he wanted a wife. It was not for love and he took that option of her finding love away, but oh except for the fact that for some odd reason as soon as she saw him the fact that he was manipulating her went right through the window and oh now she is so infatuated with him nothing he does is wrong, he is just that good looking. And that is all that matters I guess, not his crap personality.

I am getting really tired of reading about females who are so sexually charged that they will f**k any cute guy that looks at them (I know this is a male trait and I don't like the males who do it either), but their brains leave and they are quivering mess as soon as the male touches them and then they follow like puppies begging for any scrap of attention the male danes (sp?) to give them.

While I did not like the mother character in the story, it was nice to have someone who could stand against the male lead.

Also I am finding that I am not a fan for these books written as serials, where only a few chapters are published at a time. And the very end of the book, again like other serials, it just ends. there is no wrap up, no true HEA, almost like there should be another chapter but the author got tired of the story and just stopped.

I received this as an ARC For an honest review. I may or may not post spoilers so read on if you dare.

Now, this book held onto me from start to finish. I finally had to put it down about midnight and restart it in the morning as no matter how much I wanted to finish the body just was not willing.

This book has so many twists with funny side effects that I was compelled to keep reading. I wanted to see what next thing the main people would do to one up the other. Ms. Lore was able to not only get the BDSM correct, but also to get the human side into her book so much so that I would have sworn that this was a living breathing story and not just a book. Which is true entertainment.

Now, the sex scenes where hot, and not just HOT but possible. Meaning you would be able to perform them in your own home with no one the wiser. Not, sure about under the table in a dinner packed full of a lunch crowd but you never know. I love the description of the art work, the struggle to be an artist. Over all this book should be able to be rated so much higher then just a simple 5 stars.

I read this in its entirety as a part of the Shades of Control- fifty by Fifty 3 boxed set, which I received as an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Intense! This was an awesome book. I had a hard time putting it down once I got started. It was real hard to not feel any empathy for Anton and Felicia, as they both harboured much the same hurts, even though they were from completely different backgrounds. This was intriguing, full of extremely erotic sex scenes, hurt, dispair, and control. So worth the read.

The Billionaire's Wife - Ava Lore
The entire series is included. Sexy hot story. Felicia's dad sells her into marriage as a sexual submissive in the pretense of saving her mother. Anton wants a submissive companion and wife without any emotional ties. What happens when they come together is explosive.

This series hit all the emotions: Love/Hate, Happiness/Sadness, Elation/Devastation, etc. Sensual, sexy and down right dirty at times.

This book was alright. Not the worst and not the best either. I did think the fem protag was a little silly at times, and the paparazzi thing was brought in only for convenience to the plot, because there were plenty of scenes where the protags were able to wander around in public without anyone popping up with a camera, and most of the time no one even seemed concerned about the paparazzi.

I zoned out during many of the sex scenes later in the book because they were very flashy, but I didn't feel the deeper connection between the characters which is what really makes a sex scene hot after the initial panty ripping, lusty scenes.

When the book ended I wasn't in love with the characters, nor did I feel they were truly in love.

This is a short series of erotic chapters following a sculptor artist who is tricked into wedding a billionaire who is also very controlling. If you can just escape into the soap opera-style storytelling it is quite entertaining. The story won’t win any awards, but I was entertained.

Yummy!

“The Billionaire’s Wife” was a great short read. I love Anton and Felicia! They were sort of strange at the beginning, but - good grief!! Miss Ava sure ratcheted up the hot times! Love it! Would read it again!

The content is simple and a little boring, but the erotic plots probably interest me. However, I'd love to see some fair erotic novels rather than women's submission type.

I loved Anton's & Felicia's story. It was one short steamy read with just enough meat to let the reader get an understanding of the character's personality.

**This review might contain spoilers- so, please, read at your own risk**

Alright, now that we have the above warning out of the way- let's get down to dissecting this book.
This is going to be fun.
To say that I'm pleasantly surprised by this book would be an understatement.
I went into this one expecting a quick read with not much substance but I might as well enjoy and get it over with.
And did this ever turn out to be a total opposite to that!
This book had all what us suckers for drama crave.
Well...almost.
It had a dramatic start which went to have a powerful first encounter between the protagonists and then some very interesting, though sometimes repetitive, circumstances which was well..quite a feat to read.
Through it all...I enjoyed everything that the author wrote.
That was so because, well this was the female POV, the voice that the author used was refreshing, straight to the point, sarcastic, humourous, understanding, lovable and all that what would make you love what the author it trying to say because even if you don't want to- you still can relate or relatively understand that what the author is trying to say.
Which brings me to say that, I seriously loved the heroine. Even though the story is nothing new or outright special and has shades of familiarity with Fifty, even then it is milder, sweeter, somehow better because the building of the characters is much more profound and stronger.
The heroine is not a virgin. No. But also, she is not naive. What she is that she is headstrong, a sassy mouth, quirky attitude and beautiful insight of things and especially Anton.
Though, you might get frustrated when she sometime..well, a lot of times, gets sidetracked or too much drowned in the physical pleasures instead of the important things, but you'll read on knowing that when she gets around...she'll have something good to give you.
Anton, hmm... now here's a character that I can't quite make up my mind about because he's a kind of there-but-not-quite-there character. What I mean is that, he is sweet, caring, I guess lovable, too..but still there is something lacking for me to go head over heels for this guy.
The guy seriously lacked some displaying of human emotions in the mechanics of his facial displaying system. And well, sometimes in general too.
I tried but I seriously can't quite get the magazine scandal in this book out of my head. His reaction to it was confusing, though practical maybe, but not quite what I expected it to be and maybe I think I wanted a different reaction to it. So maybe that's the cause for my disappointment.
Also, towards the end... I think he could have been a wee bit more expressive.
Aaannddd...that brings me to the ending.. I think I wouldn't have minded if the book went on a lil bit longer as I think it still needed a bit of development. And also, I think that I would have liked to read more about them, if ever, falling in love and maybe how Anton turns out to be if he ever becomes a dad or something.
But all in all..I'd say that I'm pretty much happy with what I got out of this book if not totally satisfied.

Felicia is an artist who lives like a pauper (even though she has rich parents) because she hates her father. She finds out her dad is broke and can't afford cancer treatments for her mother unless she marries some rich guy (Anton). She agrees out of guilt and the story begins.

Felicia is an artist, but she seems to care very little about her art once she meets Anton. Art is pretty much forgotten until she an Anton have a serious argument. Anton is dark and mysterious, and he's pretty much a jerk. The have lots of D/s sex. That's pretty much it. Felicia seems like she's doing this all for her mother who she loves, but later in the book she seems to hate her mother almost as much as her father. Her mother seems to have no redeeming qualities. Anton sheds a little light on his past near the end of the book, but not nearly enough to really explain who he is. And Anton's reasons for wanting to marry Felicia are never fully explained. Sadie is Felicia's BFF (who gets her own book next), but there is very little character development with her either. I feel like less sex, more story would have helped this book immensely.

Caution! Read to the end of the review before you decide-> So, I've had this book on my tbr shelf for a long time, waiting to get my hands on it. I finally started it and 1 chapter in, I was a bit disappointed- the instant sexual attraction was a bit too much and the dialogues were a bit over the top and I kept thinking 'who allows a guys to touch you and squeeze you and get down on their knees on the first meeting?' and the girl thinks that she wants to "Grab his head and push it into her crutch" REALLY?!?! But then... I got to chapter 2 and then 3 and the book really picked up. I loved the story. Nothing too complicated, hot but so sweet! (never used that adjective for a BDSM book before). There was kink but there was also so much of tenderness. I really like Anton. All of the other BDSM books that I've read, the dom is either filled with anger or he does something to the girl or is a total jerk before he changes. But not this guy. This dom, is attentive and patient and totally kinky but tenderhearted. I loved the book. I really did!

This had all the things I like in romances. Sexy strong characters. Danger, tragedy, angst, darkness. Fun fluff, not focused on sex sex sex, although their is a lot. Only drag was the guy was too easy! Why I gave it 4 stars is I have 5+ specific things I look for, and this had them all. Especially the lack of bad writing, while I might not write eloquently nor do my words flow, I hate seeing inappropriately used words. They just scream at me and my mind stutters over each one. It seems that's something you just don't get often in romance, paranormal, fantasy or sci-fi unless they are highly established authors of the highest quality.

While this wasn't nor might not be anything I'll ever re-read, it was enjoyable.

"Pretty darn good!"

My Audible Audiobook Review:

Ok.. it took me some time to get use to the narration, but once I did.... I totally loved this... Great storyline... Struggling artist, who totally hates her father... but agrees to marry a billionaire to save her father, because he lies to her about her mother... Once the (h) and (H) meet.. there is instant attraction.. so even without the threat from Daddy... the (h) was going to get her some of the (H)... he was just so dang hot!

Great ending too.. Nice smexy time all throughout the story...

Again.. Narration take a bit of getting used to ...but after a while you don't really noticed the weird accents..

These are not 9 books. This is one book that someone had decided to sell chapter by chapter.
I do not know which one came first: this "series" or the 50 shades, but at least the 50 shades are real books.
I don't know what I expected. What I got was a small voice in my head which was asking me why was I reading such books. And at that moment I understood.
The perfect man does not exist, the perfect sex cannot happen every night and that rich people are just bored or overworked or both.
I understood that I am happy with the man I have by my side, with my job and with my friends and family.
I also understood that I would probably never read anything like this in the future.
