This book was too short. It left me wanting more of the story and a fleshing out of the characters. It was gripping, however, and a fast read, keeping me up to finish it when I should have been sleeping.Rob and LaFoy find some pearls while beach combing. However they are attached to a hand buried in the sand. The question before them is to pond them for some cash or report the body. The moral dilemma takes them through some harrowing moments before the story concludes.
This may have been one of the first cozy mysteries I've read in short story form. I enjoyed it and am ready for more.
I like short stories and I enjoy cozy mysteries, so the combination works perfectly for me. I hope Lisa Lickel will write more in this genre in the future.
