Men in Jeans: Richard Daniels thinks life can't any stranger working at Area 51until he gets assigned to find out where a Houston area SF writer gets the ideas for her books. Should be an easy assignment—if it weren't for the dead guy in her back yard and the non-business related ideas she's giving him.
Steam Time: The man formerly known as Tobias Smith hadn’t planned to ride along with Dr. Everly and his Medicine Show. Grifters gave him a pain their elixirs couldn’t heal. But he was headed to Marfa, too. And Everly’s son turned out to be a really a fine looking damsel—one in distress when the ghost lights of Marfa bump them into an alternate reality complete with an automaton gang and airships. Could he be the good guy? Be the hero, save the day and get the girl?
Both stories are linked to the Project Enterprise Series that includes: THE KEY, GIRL GONE NOVA, TANGLED IN TIME, and STEAMROLLED.
Pauline Baird Jones is the author of quirky, fast-paced romantic adventures that blend danger, laughter, and love in equal measure. She writes across genres—from romantic suspense and science fiction to comedy thrillers and steampunk—but her stories always share the same heartbeat: heroines who discover their courage, heroes who celebrate their strength, and humor as the best weapon in impossible situations. If you’re looking for an escape from the ordinary, her books deliver adventure, romance, and just enough laughter to keep you smiling long after “The End.”
I actually read Pauline Baird Jones’ Short Story CODE BLUE (possibly only available through the author) with the 2 main characters from GIRL GONE NOVA.
CODE BLUE, a Project Enterprise Short Story (available through the author) ~ Earthling space traveller DOC, Delilah Oliver Clementyne, a gifted and highly trained troubleshooter and former operative, now heads security for her equally lethal humanoid husband King Helfron Giddioni of the Gadi alien race. King Helfron is on a diplomatic mission to the bleak and barren desert alien planet of Tarvos Vutellius, translated, the Blue Desert, to hopefully gain a friendly alliance with the planet’s occupants.
This was a too brief yet very enjoyable revisit with sexy Telfron and the deadly Delilah.
CODE BLUE is a Clean SS to be enjoyed by readers of Baird-Jones Project Enterprise and Cyborg series.
