They were coming…

Run, hide! It’s what Collett longed to do; what she’d been doing for over two years. She knew though there was nowhere left to go, they would find her again. There was no place she could ever be safe, and she needed answers. Why me, what have I done? As she peered through the darkened woods into eerie golden eyes, she tried to force herself to remember. There was a recognition there, but whoever she was before remained trapped deep in the recesses of her broken mind. As Collett watched her pursuer creep forward through fog and trees, she wondered, how can I defeat an enemy I can’t remember?

The warning bells in Cade's mind told him to be cautious. As a lycan, he’d lived for over two centuries, and his senses, his experience told him this woman was trouble. There was something different about her; something extraordinary, and someone wanted her dead. He could save her, protect her, but he wondered who would protect him from those iridescent-blue eyes? As she cowered in fear, her scent carried over to him in the night wind, and Cade somehow knew after this, nothing would ever be the same. In this suspension-packed series, full of surprising twists, and heart-pounding excitement, Collett and Cade learn that forgotten secrets were often the most dangerous.

The first book of this suspension-packed series, is full of surprising twists, heart-pounding excitement, and the test of love between two beings fighting the will of destiny.

Camille Bateman Haight, was born and raised in Sandy Utah. She was born seventh in a family with eleven children. Growing up in a loving home she was taught strong principals. Among those lessons was first a love of God, second, a love for family, and third, a love for stories.

Her father helped her mother learn to read after they were married. Together they taught their children the value of a good book and the hidden worlds between the pages.

Now as a mother of five girls, Camille passes those lessons to her own children. With a BA in communications, she found a way to turn her love of reading into a love for writing and hopes the messages hidden in those pages can inspire others.

Having settled in Utah County with her family, Camille spends her extra time bringing new characters to life.

Camille believes, a good story can lead us out of our darkest places. It should pull at you from within, challenge you to think, and bring forth a bond between you and the characters. The characters must be more than just names on a page. They should be your best friend or your most hated foe. A good story will make you laugh out loud or have tears slipping down your cheeks. It should feel real and engage you on every level.

Shocking conclusions. I've never expected such incredible story from this book. But yet I was mesmerized by it until the last chapter. Friendships, romance and suspense are mixed impeccably in this book. It is really suitable for anyone who values friendships so much and willing to improve it by learning about how to do so through great characters in this book.

It was okay

It left a lot of questions unanswered. I really was expecting to find out more about Colette and was only given a smidgen after 95%

In the story Colette is a damsel in distress who has forgotten her memories and is being chased by various paranormal creatures for unknown reasons. Cade enters here as the hero. His team, sidekicks, Avengers, or Justice League consists of 1 charming old man/lawyer, a witch, a country cook, and their family. Together they band together to protect/ train the damsel. Then the brother of Cade (Jarett) enters the story and we learn very little about him because his story takes place in the sequel.

Perhaps Jarett will be willing to share his cameo with Colette so that readers may have a conclusion to this story. I may or may not read the next book to find out.

**On a positive note. The action and the Lyken/werewolf idea was awesome.

I came into this series late, but I can honestly say The Truth of Victory was well written. But this book's strengths go well beyond the written word or interesting phrase. You get interesting, deep, driven characters; a strong plot that continues from the previous books; beautiful battle and action scenes; and strong emotions as the reader. This book packs a truly powerful punch. Since this book was the first I read in the series, I was a little confused, but I tried to use my imagination to fill in the blanks of the past that I didn't read. Now, the confusion has nothing to do with C.B. Haight's writing, it's simply that I haven't read the other books yet. I think one of this book strongest points, and probably the series as a whole, is the emotional rollercoaster that it puts you through. You feel deeply for characters. Great book and great writing!

With all the mixed reviews, I almost didn't read this book. Man, what a mistake that would have been. I loved this book. I love the characters and how much friendship and love you felt between them. I felt a connection with each one of them. Even the side characters have depth and make you want to learn their stories as well. I was pulled into this book straight away. From the prelude to the epilogue, I couldn't put it down and now I can't wait to see where book 2, The Price of Knowing, takes these characters. Well, on to the next journey. Happy Reading!

This is my first book by CB Haight, and it was a good one.

I really enjoyed the book, and would totally recommend it to anyone who likes a unique shifter experience. I know I for one, love shifters, always have as they hold a special place for me, and this one has one heck of a alpha wolf in it. I will say though that the POVs switch often and a few times I got confused as to who was talking, and a few times the story seemed to drag, like it was stuck then it would pick up speed again, which happens sometimes.

*

Cade, is one very old, badarsed mamajama with a true heart of gold. Year after year he grows with a family, a family that's been behind him for decades, centuries even, and he becomes even more special to them all but he's missing something from his very long life. He's lonely, and that's not something just anyone can dice. It's going to take a special person.

Collette is a woman hiding in plain sight. She has no memories of the past, but she knows she needs to run. She can feel when bad things are about to happen to her, so she runs.

What neither of them suspects is that when she runs, axe will follow. One night will change their destinies and the course they're meant to take in life forever. Cade's instincts to protect Collette and Collette's need to keep everyone else from being hurt by her demons sets them both in a fiery path they could only have one outcome.

Come hell or high water, they're going to meet on common ground and stand tall. Thing is, are they strong enough to stand alone, or will they stand together....

The Truth of Victory by C. B. Haight takes you on a whirlwind of a ride, dragging you from loss and despair to elation and victory with every emotion in between. The characters brought out hope, trust, and fear for their safety. I found myself empathizing with their individual struggles, biting my fingernails, and hoping for the best at every turn. The author is very good at making you care about the well-drawn characters.

This is a fanciful tale where normal everyday people unknowingly live side by side with werewolves, demons, sorcerers, witches, guardians, angels and such in a seamless story of good versus evil. I found it interesting that the powers of many in the Brotherhood are genetically handed down. The battles reminded me of a mixture of those in J.R.R. Tolkien's and Frank Peretti's books.

When I started this book, I was instantly gripped by it and then after the second chapter, I wasn't sure I wanted to continue....but after I stuck with it for a few chapters, I actually really liked it. The supernatural aspect of the book wasn't over the top and I was really intrigued by Collett and Cade. I wish there were some things that were explained a little better and there are definitely some people I want to know more about and back stories that need to be told, but overall a good book. I'm looking forward to reading the next in this series.

They soon discover that Collett is far more than she appears. As otherworldly abilities awaken within her, everyone, including herself, becomes hungry to know who she really is and what, exactly, she is capable of.

However, Collett is not the only one to harbor dark secrets...

Their enemies are stacking up, and the odds are against them. Can they discover the truth in time, or will the past destroy them all?

A story about a damsel in distress, this is a steady and exciting novel. Collett doesn't know why she's being pursued but she has all manner of supernatural beasts after her and friends she doesn't know trying to protect her. It set up a clear sequel and left a lot of unanswered questions. I thought it flowed very well and was easy to read, so anyone who is interested in paranormal stories will like this one!

Couldn't put them down!!!

This series kept me enraptured for 2 solid weeks!! The character development between the brothers is really great. And in the last book, between the siblings, was VERY well executed.

Thanks to your sister for convincing me to buy these while we were lounging in the Marriott hot tub post-SLCC!!

Wow!!! This book was a roller coaster. There were so many twists I think I have whiplash. This was a beautiful, teary, outstanding ending. I recommend this series for sure. Make sure you have your Kleenex ready though.

Excellent

This book does not disappoint. Although there were tears, have your kleenex ready . After book two, I should have been ready for the impact of victory, for with out sacrifice can we really have victory.

Good Read

A bit predictable and choppy with over description in places, but overall a fun read. Strong main characters. Good basic plot.

I was headed for 2 stars with this one then the last chapter happened and now I don't know what to rate it. The book was really slow and wayyyyy too many people's thoughts. The last chapter had a lot of action and a very interesting twist.
