This has been my favorite book in the series so far.
I really disagreed with them handing over the diamond to the principal because I still didn't trust her and wouldn't you know the diamond was stolen.
The charity ball was a fun setting for the final act and getting a glimpse of Arthur Atkinson was unexpected. I think the high tech aspect on both ends is a good addition. I think another one of the reasons I hated the first book was that they didn't really have a conclusion to the questions created in the book. These later books are much better in that they answer most of the events that take place within the book while still keeping the overarching mystery vague.
I'm wondering if E50 has something to do with a lock combination. At first I thought it would be something with the periodic table of elements (a science thing that Jasmine could prove herself with) but the 50th element is tin, shortened to Sn not E. Then I thought of a lock combination. I also thought of it encoding a clue for where the next jewel was but the jewels move around (As shown most obviously in this book) so that wouldn't make sense either.

The characters in this book really shined, Veronica is really interesting and I think Derrica was a fun addition to the crew at the end. I'm wondering how they're going to wrap all of this up in the final book which is only 100 pages as opposed to the usual 140.
The fight between Willow and Jasmine has some interesting things to be explored, I hope they don't just bury it immediately after this book because I feel the conclusion was a bit rushed. I'm hoping the 4th book will have something where Willow has to trust Jasmine more obviously.
You could argue that happened when Jasmine got the room number but Willow didn't willingly trust her with that, she just forgot about finding it.

Overall the best book in the series, let's see how the 4th compares.

I was surprised to find that I liked this book more than the first two, but it has been a while since I read the first two, so that may have something to do with. Plus I was already invested in the series by reading the first two.

The story picks up where the second book left off; the Jewels are looking for the third missing jewel, an emerald. And keeping true to the other two books, they lose the jewel to their rival team, the Rivals. Now I am remembering why I didn't find the first two books that appealing. The book ends with the Jewels ready to find the last missing jewel. Readers of the first three books will want to get the last book to see how it all ends.

I think third and maybe fourth graders would like this series, but I think it might border on juvenile for fifth graders. I got this book along with book 4 at our book fair. The package came with an "emerald" necklace to hook some buyers. It didn't really sell that well, but I got a pack to add to our library since I had already added the first two books. I thought I might as well complete the set.
