Karina has now discovered her abilities, but this only puts her in further danger. With a 600 year old lycanthrope thirsting for her blood, Ian must summon the help of his brother Ronan. The keeper of the Spear of Victory, a treasure sacred to the Tuatha De Danann. Can the two Guardians protect Karina, or will her secret ultimately bring destruction upon them all?
I started writing in 2009 and have not looked back. I have many stories in various stages of completion. After receiving too many knock backs to count from agents and publishers, I was ready to give up writing. That was until a friend gave me Switched by Amanda Hocking and said to me "If she can self publish, then why can't you?" So here I am, diving head first into self publishing and not regretting my decision at all. I am not looking to be the next Amanda Hocking, I just want to share my stories with people who will appreciate them.
"I received a complementary copy of this series in exchange for an honest review."
Now that I have a much better understanding of the characters and what their purpose was in the series it was much easier to become sucked into the story. At this point I still hadn’t decided if I really liked Ian and was a little perturbed with him always wanting Karina to want him and love him. However after Ian showed his feels for her through a dream I got lost in Ian’s forbidden love for Karina. Karina now completely understood Ian's feeling for her but continues to hurt him unknowingly with her erotic dreams of a mystery man.
Now a 600 year old lycanthrope is thirsting for her blood and Ian must call upon his brother Ronan to help him kill the werewolf and protect Karina. Let me just say “girl can kick some serious werewolf butt”. But in doing this Ian and Karina must reveal their forbidden intimate relationship to Ronan who is forced to contact the Goddess Danu and inform her of Ian’s disgrace to his Guardian position.
What keeps me reading is finding out all the missing pieces into a life Karina must discover as a Tautha De Danann and learning to accept this new life. Which is not an easy task for Karina. Sometimes she just needs to get away and just be Karina not the Tautha De Danann or the subject of every lycanthropes desire to break their curse or a warrior that can barely keep her emotions in check. http://justonemoreromance.blogspot.com/
I just finished reading Haunted by Melissa Crowe and it was a very quick read. I really liked it. This story starts off on year later after Karina finds out she is a Tuatha De Danann (Fairy) and vanquishing Xavier a lycanthrope (werewolf). Also find out Ian is a guardian sent to protect her. She is now having dreams, very erotic dreams. She doesn't understand why she is having them and Ian being a guardian is trying to be understand yet is very defensive because it is about another man. This adds to the growing tension in their relationship. Ian knows this has to do with another werewolf so he has to have his brother Ronan come and help out. The one thing is Guardians cannot have relationships with their charges. What will happen when Ronan finds out? Will he approve or disapprove? Who is this werewolf that is coming after Karina? Many secrets are revealed and we will see where this takes all of them.
I liked this story, again this was a very quick read. Very easy to follow. Not much of a shock factor since things from the first story kinda put the killer in your mind. Doesn't take away from the story. Cannot wait to see what happens in the next story
enticing, intriguing and captivating.... Karina and Ian's journey continues, and since the first book things have taken a dramatic change... Karina has discovered out regarding her history, (I will not give any spoilers) and has found also she has an ally, one she did not ever thought existed, was purely her Guardian at her side. She has to face more demons in this follow on from the first series, and as previously, the author, Melissa, has wrote this with such passion and feeling, the reader is immersed from the very beginning. I found myself addicted once again. From the start the reader does not know which way the book will go, and I found myself routing for the characters throughout. This Novella takes a slightly darker turn, and invokes passions and sensual feelings Karina has lusted over, but now cannot hide, she is powerful and coming into her own path. The mystery and love story beneath are wonderful, and it is beautifully written. A must read once again for any paranormal reader, Twilight addict, with a little sexy kick too!! Well done Melissa Crowe again! Eagerly awaiting book 3!! x
After reading The Beast Within, I had an idea of what to expect with this book. I did enjoy this part of the story more than book 1 and I think it’s because there is more happening in this story. We also get to learn more about Karina’s past and her family history. So it was very interesting to learn about that part of the story.
There is a really good balance between all the aspects of this book. The drama and suspense went together quite well. It was easy to follow along with what was happening because I wanted to find out what was causing the dreams. The tension that was happening between Karina and Ian was just off the charts as well. I was left wondering if they were going to be able to make it through everything.
I am still going back and forth between how I feel about Karina’s character. There were some parts of the story that I just wanted to smack her because of how she was acting. But then on the other hand, there were some parts where I was completely shocked with what she did, shocked in a good way.
With everything that happened in this part of the serial, I now can’t wait to read the last book and find out what happens.
Haunted is the follow up novella to The Beast Within. Karina has now accepted who she is and is learning to deal with her faerie powers. Her relationship with her boyfriend and Guardian Ian is getting back on track. Things seem to be going relatively well until a 600 year old lycanthrope comes knocking.
I have liked Karina since meeting her for the first time in The Beast Within. My opinion of Ian has skyrocketed since the last story and I have to admit I am starting to harbor a bit of a book crush! I really like these two characters as a couple now.
Once again Crowe delivers a wonderful story in a short amount of time. There are secrets revealed, some suspense, and some heart stopping action! I was so happy that the story continued on.
Crowe leaves the reader with quite the cliffhanger in this installment, so I am anxious to break into the next story! I am finding that I am growing partial to this alternate world of this amazing faerie, the guardians, and even those pesky werewolves!

I really love these novellas. I love that they are standard shorter novellas, yet still suck you in and get your so stuck in the story. You are practically watching a movie inside your head. It's so developed and elaborate you can picture it all. The fights. The dreams *wink wink*. The men !! The feelings. A year has passed and Karina is dealing with the hand she was dealt with Ian by her side. It seems like every day these two have a battle at their feet in some way. Their love should be their safety net but things are getting in the way lately. They need to find balance. Karina needs to find balance. It seems Ronan helps a little when he arrives, but still not enough. She is still fighting for her life. And the dreams are driving a wedge between her and Ian. Not to mention they are breaking rules. I could see the whole thing playing out. Each arch of the sword or spear. I was like a sideline cheerleader. But then it was over. I thought all would be good. But.. Cliffhanger! Gah! I still give this novella 4 hearts. Warrior fairy is kick ass.
I was given this by the author for an honest review (Lovers of Paranormal r2r)
Yes! Hello Karina! We get to see her kick some mongrel butt! =) Steamy shower scenes, naughty dreams, distrust, suprise family visit, hidden powers coming to light, confusion, dispair, action! The action was full on, don't think there was much of a down moment going! I thoroughly enjoyed this, and look forward to finding out whether Ian ages into dust before Karina's eyes, or if Ronan holds his tongue and chooses family over duty. Oh the anticipation. Wonder who Ella's next love interest will be. (Yes that is a blatant hint to the author to open a certain someones eyes to the possibility of love lol!)
The only down thing was the editing, (some mistakes to fix) and somekind of break/bigger gap before jumping to a new scene would help the transistion for the reader and lessen confusion.
Thanks for letting me read =) Will be looking for the next!

3.5 stars liked it but still didn't hit the love factor for me.
This is the second novella in the series and it was better than the first but still had some things that bothered me. It was a little slow going at the beginning but then it got better and I liked the story. It showed Karina being stronger which I liked and a little more descriptive detail which I think adds to the story and characters. I like when I feel like I am getting to know the characters and with this novella I did. It still had a lot of errors which to me makes it seem sloppy but if you don't mind that and it doesn't bother you (it messes with my flow) then you will be fine. I also didn't like that I had things figured out before they happened and I like the surprise and twist which this didn't have. The action and storyline was much better than the first and it is a cliffhanger so I am looking forward to reading the next because of that.
No seriously though, this book gave me more of an idea of what was really going on with the characters. I felt like in the first book I was trying to keep up, this one broke down and really delved into the characters and what was really going on with them.
I gotta be honest. I didn't love Ian in the first book. Truthfully I still didn't in this one. He felt needy and insecure in a lot of ways. I know part of that is Karina unknowingly hurting him, but part of it is that he just wasn't a great character to me.
This one takes us more into Karina becoming more aware of who she is while dealing with a new obstacle. She is stronger, more sure of herself and her abilities. I appreciated that so much in this novella! I don't like giving away spoilers so I just tell you how the book makes me feel, I liked it a lot.
I give this 4 lipsticks!

Haunted was an AWESOME follow up to The Beast Within! It is fast paced and action packed.. We learn more about Karina's powers, as well as some history ! A new character is introduced and I would really like to see more of!
Karina is having steamy dreams of another man, that is happing a lot and doesn't know why! Leaving Ian hurt and mad. Mean while Ella is in love with the perfect man or so she thinks! Karina knows something is off with Antonio, but lets it go, instead of following her gut! By this time Ian has gotten a bad feeling and knows something bad is coming, and has to call in for help! Help arrives as well as more trouble!!! I will leave it at that! Now the waiting game to see what happens next!
All in all it was a great read! and would recommend it! I cant wait to find out more. I do hope we get to see more from Roan!( I would love to see him find love )
Haunted begins about a year after The Beast Within, and it’s hard to review this novella without giving away plot spoilers for the first book.
I will say that the pace is again fast, and we’re introduced to some new characters, but I felt the plot was somewhat predictable. It seemed to be a case of the same thing happening but with a few different people. Still, I enjoyed it and it had the same charm as the first book.
I really liked Ronan and thought he was very interesting, and I’m wondering what part he will play in the next instalment. We get to see Karina develop more as a character, and Haunted answered a few of my questions. Karina's powers are something I’m looking forward to seeing more of as well.
Due to some sexual situations I recommend this series for readers 18+

Haunted is the second book in The Beast Within series by Melissa Crowe. Wow! This book is even better than the first. I am officially hooked! This book is part of a series and is best read as part of the series and not as a standalone novel.
Karina is growing and learning her role now that she knows who she is and who Ian is. She is getting stronger and more confident. She is having steamy sex dreams with another man and it’s driving Ian crazy!
Karina’s best friend meets the man of her dreams or so she thinks. Once Karina meets Antonio she know something is off with him. When Ian calls for backup to help him protect Karina more trouble ensues. Now I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Overall, this is one fabulous series that kept me hooked from the beginning to the very end.
Prior to my signing on to the tour, I was a bit hesitant about how I’d like the books. However, they turned out to be exceptionally well written and entertaining. There were times in the second book, Haunted, where I found myself re-reading a few pages again to grasp the events that were actually occurring. Sometimes the Haunted, especially was a little too busy for me. However, Journey honestly redeemed some of the confusion I was left with from the Haunted. My favorite book out of the series was hands down Journey. I felt like the characters grew into themselves at that point and I was able to fully appreciate their individual qualities and how their positions within the books. Overall though, I’d give the series as a whole 3.5 stars!
I hadn’t read #1 of this series, so was unfamiliar with the back story. Luckily Mellissa told the story so well & explained things further in this book. That it didn’t matter.
Karina is Royalty in the Fairie Kingdon. She is one of the remaiming Tuatha De Danann. She is in grave danger from any Lycanthrope, as they need to kill her to lift their curse.
Along side Karina is her beloved Guardian Ian. Together with Ian’s Brother Ronan (another Guardian) they have to defeat the latest Lycan that is trying to kill her.
I really enjoyed this story. I love the way Karina & Ian were towards each other. The other characters worked in really well with the story.
I am looking forward to #3 to see what happens to them.

This novella picks up where the first one left ends. Karina and Ian are together. Now she's having erotic dreams about someone who's face she can't see but knows is not Ian. This starts to cause a rift between them.
Karina has to face a new evil in this one. Once she and Ian discover the new danger is causing her dreams Ian calls someone for help. While worrying about what could happen to their relationship Karina is also trying to be supportive and happy for Ella.
It took me a few pages to get into the book but once I did I couldn't put it down. It became a fast paced read with lots of action. This is a great follow up and I look forward to reading more.
I received an e-ARC copy of this book for a blog tour in return for an honest review!!! I was totally drawn in and entertained from beginning to end. It's a very fast paced story and very well written. This author has a knack for luring in her audience and binding us to the story and begging to read more. I would most definitely recommend this book to others to read!!
Haunted, brought the story to the next level. Just like the first book, the story of Karina and Ian brought the story to be more in spice and exciting, with all the new lycan and the issue between the relationship of Karina and Ian. The way the story is ended is also great, so not disappointing. Can't wait for more!
In the Haunted, Ian and Karina's relationship is threatened even more by crazy dreams and Ian's brother, who can't let Ian and Karina's relationship remain a secret. Ella's new boyfriend, Antonio, ends up not being such a nice guy after all.
That was better than the first one but still there were pieces I don't like. This time the enemy was stronger and even it was too easy to guess they couldn't find it at first. He kidnapped Karina and almost killed her. With helps of Ian and his brother Ronan, they won this battle. But after everything this time Karina has bigger problem: Ian can die. Because Ian is protector, he couldn't get involve romantically with a Tuatha. But he's in love with her and Ronan doesn't approve it. He'll report this and maybe this will cause his brother's life. In the third book we'll all learn it.
Better than first but I find everything so easy in these novellas. I hope the third one will be the best.
