This book was about our nation's 35th president. John F. Kennedy (also known as Jack) was born on May 29, 1917. He was the 2nd of a children born to Rose Fitzgerald (Daughter of Boston's Mayor) and Joseph Kennedy (a self made millionaire). John was not a very good student and athlete when he was young. His dad always in eldest son, Joe Jr. to be president. But then world war 2 broke out and Joe Jr. died in combat. So now it was up to John to fulfill his father's dream. John F. Kennedy ran for office in 1946 and won for being in the U.S. House of Representatives. From there, he just couldn't stop. With the support from his family, John was reelected twice as a congressman. Then he served 2 times in the Senate. And in 1961, he became a president. He faced a lot of problems but the biggest one was the Cuban missile crisis. He managed to fix it out though. Then on November 22, 1963, John f. Kennedy was shot to death by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas. He would always be remembered.

I would rate this book a 5 stars because the author had really interesting and good facts about his life. It felt if I was really in John F. Kennedy's life. It is kind of amazing how a person who was not well intelligent could be a president. I feel kind of sad for the Kennedy's though because so many of them died young in age. Anyways I think that John F. Kennedy was an amazing man and also that Julie Mills continues to write good books like this.
