Fantastic, well written story. Martina, a private investigator, is hired to find a missing person from 35 years ago. The story is told from different perspectives both from 35 years ago and today, but is so easy to follow as each title lists the time and person. The story flows seamlessly, weaving all the threads together, with plenty of intrigue and suspense. Will Martina be able to find the missing person, or at least what happened to her? Will she survive attacks from people unknown who don't want her to find the missing person? Enjoy this mystery and be prepared to stay up late reading.

This is an amazing series and this book is a wonderful addition. The storyline is engaging and the story is well written. All the characters, both regulars and those temporarily part of this story are multifaceted. I love a strong female protagonist and Martina is certainly that. Every main character had things negatively effecting l their lives but despite their sadness were 100% committed to bring another cold case to fruition.

This is book 10 of the Martina Monroe series of books. Martina Monroe is a private investigator. She was working on a cold case squad with Detective Hirsch and I really enjoyed the cases when reading the books, but the squad got disbanded by the police. Martina is back working at Drakos Monroe Security & Investigations. Things seem to just happen to her. She was feeling a little bored with her cases and out of the blue, she was asked about trying to help someone out. This case intrigued her a little because she would really have to use her investigator skills. A lady, Nancy, was involved with a pimp and drugs, etc. 35 years ago. She was able to break free and now she asks Martina if she could find another girl, Victoria, who she had worked with all that time ago. At the same time, Detective Hirsch with the police was given permission to start a very small cold case squad and he asked Martina if she could be a part-time consultant. I hope she does more work with Detective Hirsch as I have always liked their interaction together. Early in the series, I thought maybe they would get together, but sadly no. Hirsch now has his own family and Martina is still a single mother. Anyhow, I love how Martina goes about getting info she needs to solve the case. She uncovers secrets and there are twists that she has to deal with. I enjoyed this book by HK Christie, as I have with the other books I have read from this author. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.

A story that has a gripping plot, of a woman who escaped, yet, she lost so much
Now, wanting to find them, and to bring justice to what happened.
She hires Martina to investigate, years of terror for her will come out.
Will she get answers or will it bring more devastating lost for her.
Her plots, grabs a person from the beginning it is emotional and you
hope Martina will find the answers for Nancy.

You can't hide from your past

Another great read.I could not put this down. Martina and Zoey in protection, trying to find a missing lady for 35 years. Martina Hirsch, the new Cold Case Squad, SFPD, and the FBI to mention only a few trying to unravel a missing person while behind drawn in to a murder, attempted kidnapping, drugs, trafficking, and murdet . What a a book to read. You will enjoy every page of this read.

A thirty five old cold case sparks a investigation into more than one missing person case !!

This one was a joint effort between Martin as crew, the FBI , COCO COUNTY SHERIFF S OFFICE and the SFPD . When she decided to help look for a missing person Martina had know idea it would lead her into the world of big crime families. Also the killing of her best friend and colleagues brother.
This is really a great story and it deserves a 5 Stars recommendation

Book#10 - Martina Monroe has been assigned to a case where a woman asks for helping finding her friend for years ago. The woman and her friend were prostitutes living with a controlling man and she was able to get out. Once she got on her feet, she tried to find her friend she left behind. Now it’s 35 years later and she wants help in finding her. Martina agrees to take the case. As she is investigating, she discovers the controlling man is a part of a powerful family with hidden secrets. As the secrets begin to unravel, the FBI gets involved and they discover a crime syndicate determined to keep their secrets. Martina’s life is in danger but she will never stop fighting to bring the victim home and catch the criminals.

Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building.

RE: Faster Pace than Usual

I enjoyed this storyline, and the main characters, as always but it feels like some of the essentials are not as fleshed out as much as they normally are. I also missed Martina and August working so closely, but I’m anxious to see if the lieutenant we meet in this story will feature regularly in the future, and how.

fast-paced and addictive

Martina Monroe is still solving cases that to me if possible. The steaks in this one are high and at times threatened Martinez daughter and mom. How could looking for a 35-year-old missing person help solve another unsolved crime involving people Martina is close to.

Great book

This book was quite the mystery. Martina and her team as well as the Sheriff's office and FBI. Just one look at a 35 year cold case that started a domino affect. Opening the cold case squad and joining forces, they turn over no one but two cold cases. This was a very interesting and sad case. Read this series its fantastic.

Wow—what a ride! This book had me absolutely glued from start to finish. I couldn’t put it down, and every spare moment I had, I found myself diving back in. Well, Hirsch stopped whiny! Again good story, good characters, fast paced and non stop. Yet again, everyone was trying to catch the two bad families for years and years and in under 3 weeks (Sadie Hawkins dance timeline) Martina solves everything.

They all intertwine

This was a good book!! Martina starts with a missing person case and then finds out that there are several more cases involved. It's interesting how they all work together. There's endless action, danger, tears, and emotions run high. Makes for good reading.
